IGN Reviews VF5

It was a half joke. The part about your opinion being irrelevant I meant because you obviously have horrible taste if you would group DoA and MK with VF. The part that hinted that because your taste is questionable you don't play fighting games was meant to be a ridiculous leap of logic.
Nah! :p
I just don't like the fact that every game review when it comes to fighting games, has to mention other fighting games knowing that they play completely different..

I don't see reviews of Soul Calibur, comparing it to Bushido Blade..
But when it comes to "well known franchises"..
Is like there's a need to put Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter and Tekken..together even when they all play completely different. I don't go to play Virtua Fighter 5, with Mortal Kombat Armageddon on mind...

Is like some mentioned before. When it comes to Virtua Fighter and some other fighting games, all they do is jump around talking about "depth" and "deep" and yet, they don't explain why. All they say is "Virtua Fighter 5 is deeper than X and Y" and that's it ..that and the whole bunch group of people that go around screaming "Virtua Fighter is the deepest fighting game ever" and yet they haven't played any fighting game in years, but just base their opinion on others'...

Plus the original post quoting that part of the review..instead of the actual review of the game which is the (supposed) point of this thread...just doesn't make sense..and that's why I disagree with 'that'.

I think VF5 is better than SF. I love SF and play it more than VF5, but if there was more comp in the USA id probably play VF exclusively. SF is more accessible to all types of gamers, but the depth of VF5 is what makes it king imo.

I stopped reading after "Virtua Fighter is the best fighting series in videogames. Sorry Street Fighter,". I bet he's the kind of person who couldn't pull of a deadly rave in CVS2 and got so upset he broke his controller. "No series has offered greater depth and complexity over its lifetime than SEGA-AM2's Virtua Fighter." I'd like to see him try to pull off a dream cancel in KOF XI.

Virtua Fighter 5 comes to 360 with a variety of updates from the PS3 version.
Already are fine-looking game on PS3, VF5 looks
even better
on 360.

360 PS3
Presentation 7.0 7.0
Graphics
9.0
8.5
Sound 6.0 6.0
Gameplay 9.5 9.5
Lasting Appeal 9.5 8.0

how ironic is it that in this thread pepole are saying VF doesnt get the sales it deserves and at the same time saying no one at a games publication is qualified to review the damn game because they arent hardcore enough.

yes, the deepness of the depth knows no depth, other games are like a kiddy pool in comparison to the rapture that is vf5.

he sure loves it-

"It is, in the grand scheme of things, the ultimate 3D fighting game"

He got so excited, in fact, that he started making typos, and since the editor was too busy being excited all over his copy of vf5 for ps3 as well, they decided to leave it in ever since because that's what professional journalists do;
"This was not your daddy's Virtua Fighter -- that stolid, no-frills fighter with little"

How many VF5 threads had we have regarding the 360 version, seven, eight? This is a pretty desperate attempt for people to validate their purchase or a weak attempt to drum up sales.

VF5 is my favorite fighting game, and a damn good one, but I can recognize that other fighting games are also just as well made and fun for different reasons.

I'm glad online is there so this game can reach a wider audience, but It's not worth rebuying the game for. (In other words, if tekken can add it over PSN so can VF! DO IT!)

practically every online fighting game review claims 'no lag'

i don't know why people value reviews of fighting games. reviewers are typically the most casual of casual fighting game fans. hence why this fellow thinks mortal kombat and doa are relavent in a conversation regarding the best fighting games.

edit: the one that i fell for was ggxx#r for xbox.

yet when i bought an xbox and the game, i found out it was unplayable online.

:lol it happens to be the exact same reviewer, Hilary Goldstein.
Well, if reviewers are playing copies before release, the only people they have to play against online are either developers or other reviewers. Possibly over Partnernet instead of XBL as well. All that can easily explain why reviewers see less lag.

Depends, there always will be people who have wal-mart connections, and people who try and lag on purpose, I doubt reviewers run into those, we'll see.
