It runs at 720@30 all the time, but it runs at 720@30fps at the end, with low resolution assets. I'll try it again when it goes on sale in my region, but a next-gen update (or THE next-gen update, with shoulder camera), would be a welcome one

I believe you're correct. It still has hideous pop-in, but the action is way smooth.
