Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for PS5 launches April 17 (Standard, Premium, and Collector's editions available for pre-order)

Hey Shock, how do you like the Philips ? Got 'em a few weeks ago and...I had to sent them back due to the excessive clamping force, I shit you not when I say that I had migraines after using them for more than 30 minutes...
Sound was nice though even if a little bit too "boomy" for my tastes with their sub-bass.

PS: how are you driving them ? DAC ? straight through the joypad ?

Cheers
Hi Giallo

I love them honestly and using them for everything now!
Managed to get my pair used like new for £70 on Amazon. My first pair of open backs too.

Havent found them "boomy" personally and have made music and gaming sound great especially after redoing my 3d audio profile on PS. Clamp is fine for my head as well plus they're really light.

I'm just plugging straight into the controller and they're working fine - had to buy a USBC to aux adapter for my phone though.

Did you end up going for another pair?

I must have tried about 5 different headsets/headphones the last 30 days, in fact, I'm happy that Amazon hasn't banned me yet 😁

Tried the Arctis nova 5, Turtle beach stealth 700 G3, Asus ROG delta 2, Philips XH2R and the Sennheiser 560s.

In the end, I needed something wireless and I had to go back to the stealth 700 G3 since they also have simultaneous Bluetooth which I need/find very convenient.

PS: I liked the Senns 560s more since they had a more neutral sound compared to the XH2R.

Haha wow that's a decent amount you've tried there!

I tried some steelseries but didn't really like them.

I was looking at HyperX alphas but then started hearing about open backs and went down the rabbit hole.

I looked into the Sennheiser ones but sounds stupid I liked the look of the fidelios more!

Do they have a flatter sound you mean? Ive only compared to my Pulse 3ds and official Xbox headsets I have.

Pretty much all that needs to be said on the "Xbox owners don't buy games" bullshit.

On one side you have PlayStation warriors with room temperature IQs. On the other side you have publishers who have to make money. And their games are coming to Xbox. Clearly it's a worthwhile investment for them, despite what GAF would have you believe.
I don't know why you're so upset. Your console has that wide VRR range and asymmetrical sticks

Yeah, the Senn's are more flat sounding (but still very good) plus, i found them to be way more comfortable than the Phidelios.

As a side note, the self-adjusting headband looks like a weakspot compared to the rest of the set which is built like a tank.
The 560s on the other hand were an all-plastic build...

Cheers

I'm dying for some news on this game - don't they wanna tell us what the pro enhancements are before it comes out? I can't wait for the release next week...

Yup. Super hyped. And on PSN it shows the release date as the 16th at 8PM. Must be going by Euro time.

Im going to guess we'll get a dump of info either at the end of this week or next Monday.

I thought it looked fantastic on the Series S when I played a bit of it last year. Hoping that with a Pro and an OLED it's going to melt my brain just like Toht's face.

I'm still mad about the fucked up physical launch version

I will not purchase the game due to this issue.

Some new details

The new game will benefit from enhancements on the PS5 Pro, per Push Square.

The game is set to be "visually optimized" for the PS5 Pro, offering improved visual fidelity and performance. Additionally, two new whip abilities, "Open Season" and "Sleight of Hand," will be introduced.

With "Open Season," whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks, while "Sleight of Hand" allows players to disarm an enemy and have their weapon fly toward Indy.

Hells yeah ^

The triple header now starts for Ps5. April Indiana Jones. May Doom Dark Ages. And June the highly anticipated sequel Death stranding 2. I have my budget ready for all three for Ps5.

Disc doesn't contain the game.

It's just a key
Holy fucking jesus....I was going to get thdisc version so I could sit it next to my Indiana Jones films.

As far as Im concerned this is the true 4th Indiana Jones film.

My only issue with the game that the ending was an exact rehash of Raiders.

Get it used at half the price in a couple of months time, or wait for a heavy discount. At least that's what I've been doing these past couple of years with all these botched physical releases like SW Jedi Survivor, SW Outlaws, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, etc.

Oh didn't know about Avatar ...
I don't buy Ubisoft games from the shelf and wanted to get a used copy, but the game not being able to install and play offline is a bummer.

Bought! Pre load starts on Monday. At least on the east coast of the US you can play at 8PM on the 16th.

Thank god for that Pro space :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I was banned aaaaages ago for 2 weeks. I have moved on from a lot of that stuff.

I'll never forget that Giallo Corsa Giallo Corsa told me to take a second and think if the post is worth responding to. It really helped. I'm not trying to say I'm holier than thou etc. I have been there and I'm trying my best to move on. I see the tell tale signs in your posts sometimes that's all.

I will respond properly to your points at some point but I'm in amsterdam and feeling loved up at the minute.

Have a great day bro.

Went to Amsterdam last summer at the tail end of my EU vacation. Amazing country and I've never seen so many people riding bikes in my life. The food was also really good there or I was really high maybe a combination of the two.

Is there a specific tech breakdown of what is being enhanced for pro? Or do we have to wait till next week?
PS Blog posted about the PS5 Pro enhancements.

PS Blog posted the PS5 Pro enhancements.Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to PlayStation 5 consoles next week! Set between "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade", Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is a first-person, single-player adventure that will take you all over the world, uncovering clues and solving an ancient mystery. Your journey will take you from the hallowed halls of the Vatican and the arid deserts of Egypt to the lush and sunken temples of Sukhothai and the frigid peaks of the Himalayas.Play Video

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to launch on PlayStation 5 on April 17 (or up to 2 days early if you pre-order the Premium Edition), showcasing advanced features that leverage the console's capabilities.
"We're so excited to bring Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PlayStation players," says Production Director John Jennings. "Each platform introduces something unique to the experience, and we've worked hard to ensure our use of the PlayStation 5's suite of features directly benefits you and the game. We look forward to hearing your Indy stories!"

DualSense controller featuresIndiana Jones and the Great Circle throws you right into the action with the DualSense controller's immersion-enhancing features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Whether you're in combat, traversing through your environment with the help of your whip, or using tools like your camera and lighter, you'll feel every action in the palms of your hands.
Additionally, the lightbar is connected to game actions to give you visual feedback about Indy's current status. For example, when you enter combat, the LED light around the touchpad will turn yellow, or pulse yellow if the NPCs are searching for you. If your health gets low, the light will pulse red until you heal up. Using a consumable to restore health like food or a bandage will turn the light green for a few seconds.

Performance enhancementsThe game benefits from frictionless loading, selective installation that prioritizes your system language (other languages can be installed separately), and SSD optimization, ensuring a seamless experience with faster streaming and loading. The Great Circle also takes advantage of the PlayStation 5's advanced CPU and GPU capabilities to achieve stable 60 FPS with high quality resolution.

Visual and audio immersionIndiana Jones and the Great Circle makes extensive use of the PlayStation 5's ray-tracing capabilities both on the base model and the PlayStation 5 Pro console. The global illumination system allows for greater detail and quality as well as more realistic and dynamic lighting throughout the world. Audio immersion is enhanced by 3D audio and HD rumble during cinematic scenes and gameplay, letting you feel like you're right in the scene as Indy himself.

From the blog it says this:

"PlayStation 5 Pro enhanced

Make your journey around the world even more striking with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5 Pro. The optimized console performance on the PS5 Pro ensures you achieve higher and more consistent frame rates, making every moment of your adventure unforgettable. Experience next-level realism and image clarity with native 4K resolution and advanced ray tracing.

"Playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at a native 4K resolution really is the best way to appreciate the level of detail the team at MachineGames has poured into every corner of the world," says Jennings. "You could spend hours just walking around the different environments admiring every little thing, from each artifact in Marshall College's impressive collection to the verdant beauty of Sukhothai's jungles.
"

So it says three things here:

- higher and more consistent frame rates. Series X ran at 60fps so maybe this means Pro will get an an unlocked frame rate mode? Or 120fps mode?
- Native 4k resolution. If I remember correctly the Series X rendered at 1800p so that'll be an increase over the Series X version.
- Advanced ray-tracing. So this will likely mean higher ray-tracing settings than what is present on Series X.

Since I'm going to buy this game for my Ps5, it is kind of late to ask, but is this game connected to the movies? Is this canon?

I don't think Kennedy has made any statement that this story inserts into any particular place in the currently existing film chronology.
But it's officially licensed from Lucasfilm. It has the characters of the movie franchise. And it plays out very much like one of the Indy movies.
I don't see any reason why you can't consider it canon. I'm not sure anything in it violates any pre-existing story elements from the movies.
And since there will never be any more Harrison Ford Indy movies, I think this is a good entry in the tetralogy.

I would say sorta yeah. It takes place between Raiders and Last Crusade and there are indeed callbacks and references to Raiders (not sure about Temple of Doom)

That is good. Indiana Jones series are my favorite since childhood.

Since its officialy licensed by Lucasfilm as you mentioned, it may have connection to the previous movies.

There's a couple of easter eggs and nods to The Last Crusade as well.

If you're a fan of the original Indy trilogy, this game will be right up your alley.

Kennedy be damned. The creators of the game have said it takes place between Raiders and Last Crusade. Specifically, it's set one year after Raiders.

But yogaflame was specifically asking about canon. It would take Lucasfilm to officially canonize it. I don't know if they have done that yet.
