In a recent interview with long time Indiana Jones producer Frank Marshall, recasting Indy came up and here is what he said:

“There are a lot of rumours,” Marshall admitted. “We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at some point we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton.”

That sounds like he’s open to recasting Indy doesn’t it? Well, think again. Marshall also mentioned that they’re “not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… we have to figure this out.”

This is great news to me, Ford IS Indiana Jones.
If you must continue the franchise let it be about a new character.
I just hope Ford gets one more film to himself before the baton is passed.

Yeah, he needs a real fourth film to send off the character on a high note 😞

Spielberg has already gone on record a few weeks back that Indiana Jones 5 will have Harrison Ford as Indy.

He didn't exactly go on record, more like he's hopeful he will direct it and that it will star Ford.
This is about recasting the role, not just Indy 5.

uhhh not good news not unless they have JR replace him, he is not getting any younger and its showing! if they want to continue with the franchise they HAVE to replace Ford

I hope this get made, couldn't possibly be worse than the last and any improvement on that is a good enough end note for me.

Also Disney needs to get on an animated series ASAP.

Did you read the opening post? They will continue the franchise but with a new character that will not be called Indiana Jones.

at this rate ford is going to be at least 75 when they start filming, if it ever happens.

"part time"
I was watching a few videos on YouTube of the production of Crystal Skull and saw a take where Ford delivered that line much better than what was in the final film. Dunno why Spielberg went with that terrible final version.

Like Star Wars: The Clone Wars/Rebels? I can kinda see it.

Honestly, I would rather have a recast indy in the 1930s instead of old indy or a new character.

that's cool I guess, but Harrison Ford is 73 and I'm sure they will make more Indiana Jones movies after he dies.

There was an interview with Ford on Conan years ago where Conan joked Indy would be in a wheelchair and be like "Bring the treasure to me!"

It was a bad idea last time, and will be even worse this time.

Harrison Ford is too old. The only reason he's even acceptable in the new Star Wars is that he'll be relegated to a small side-character.

I think you'll be disappointed come December then, Han Solo is one of the main characters of the film.

I think I d die rather than have Indiana shia.

Fuck him.

Also; they could always make it animated; with a Paul Walker like CGI young Ford.I think they did that recently with Douglas in antman.

I'd rather they not recast. some things are just better left as is. I'd really love for someone to come up with a new protagonist, or are we just out of ideas now?

Animated Indy Jones with Harrison Ford VA.

Boom, you just gave him 15 more years added to his life.

I was very, very hesitant about Shia as Young Indy, but The Adventures of Mutt Jones couldn't be that terrible of an idea.

After "Tron: Legacy", I thought it was a nice idea to do something similar to what they did to Jeff Bridges' face (the CG stuff in the younger version) with Harrison Ford and Indy.

He's not going to be a character that performs a lot of action though. If they make Han Solo try to appear as physically capable as Rey, Finn or Poe, it will be terrible. He can be old/wise. All he needs to do is pilot around the Millennium Falcon.

That's a mistake. Indy should live on and fight nazis forever. Their are tons of stories that could be told.

The Bond method is exactly what should be done.
