Time for LD entries, including a new one from Daniel Linssen

I haven't played nearly enough 2015 indies to vote.

Yep, you got around 1 month left, and plenty of Indies are free anyway. You can check Baddys or my list for playing suggestions.

And I envy Baddy for having it ranked already. Cutting my list down from 58 to 20 point winners is gonna be excruciating.

Heh. I'm a college student during finals week with only two finals. So I had more time than the average person this week :p

I made the music for a game in the Ludum Dare 34 with some amazing guys from Madrid, Cremagames. They did this little gem, Mobsferatu, and I was completely blown away they could put this polish in just 72h

Mobsferatu - Free (Pc, Mac, Linux)
LTHsI67.gif

http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=59414

Take your place in an angry mob while you climb through Nosferatu's Tower seeking revenge, avoiding traps and looking for other folks to join your crusade and your crowd will grow.

The game has two button controls and features the Growing theme two ways: the Angry Mob (grows whenever you rescue a trapped villager) and the Music (grows in intensity when you are near the Tower's top).

Mobsferatu is a really nice game. Doesn't feel like a jam entry, I could see this being a mobile game easily as is. Great job to you and the team.

My word indeed, I just had a fun season of going through my steam games and pulling out anything that was released this year that might possible end up on my GOTY listings. I'm not even quite all the way through of content and I am currently looking at sixty four games that have to be cut down into fifty and then into twenty. Quite a task.

Hope you enjoy it. I really liked it. Empire is still my favorite, but Force Awakens is tied with A New Hope in second place IMO

It was REALLY good. I wasn't hyped at all until reviews started rolling in - this is probably the first time I've seen a film this close to release in years.

First GOG, then Itch has a redesign and client released. Not sure either has what it takes to differentiate themselves from Desura, but I am hopeful we get some DRM-free indie focused competition to Steam. Now I see IGS has a subscription service like HB too. I couldn't get excited for HB because I already own so many games and bundles, I really doubt I would get anything I didn't already have at least one copy of. I like the idea of it, maybe after a few months go by I will rethink it. I wish IndieBox would come out with more games. Love the goodies they put in, but so far most of the releases aren't exactly top picks for me. Pretty cool to watch the development of the gaming culture and market right now. There's a lot to take in.

I fully agree, but GOG didnt hit the sweetspot with functionality unfortunately yet, their client felt too clunky. Might need to check out itch though, as that is an outlet that I definitely should keep a closer eye on.

Galaxy isn't there for me yet either - it's missing one key feature that would make it a MUST use for me: in built mod support.

If I could boot up Planescape: Torment and install widescreen, bug fixes, missing content etc all through the client I would never put it down.

I've grown very cold to those game subscription services and blind bundles recently. The super cheap ones are pleasant enough but when you get to Humble Monthly or IGS prices they are just starting to feel really exploitative and lacking in value given you are giving up the right to know what you are buying. Unless companies like Humble get more open as to what they are selling then I doubt I will get on board with this consumer trend.

Same for me - I've actually stopped buying bundles now - whereas before I was all over every single one.

In general I've only bought a few bundles, partly because I only got into PC gaming in the last two years so I missed the golden age, so to speak. A lot of the recent bundles have been pretty weak or have games that I already own

I only buy a bundle if there are games I really really want, like the recent one that had Crosscode, and even then it's rare because I don't want to have those extra games that I'm not going to play. I much prefer IGS' $1 deals; I've picked up a lot of great indies from those

Subscriptions for bundles are really stupid IMO. Why would anyone blindly want a bundle where you don't even what games you'll get? It's too high a risk of getting games you already own.

I just noticed that I only did my Steam Indie sale threads during the summer sales, weeeee. No need to waste christmas time on that :p

I wouldn't - especially considering there's no dailies this time around. People can poke around the more general sales themselves!

Just discovered this. Looks like a fun game. Like Gang Beasts meets 3D platformer

Human: Fall Flat - $9.99 (PC)
4nePJGE.gif

http://www.nobrakesgames.com/human/

Human: Fall Flat is an open-ended physics based puzzle game in which you take control of builder Bob helping him resolve the mysteries behind his recurring dreams of falling.
Your goal is to escape those dreams full of puzzles, dangers and surprises using everything you find in the levels.

I wouldn't - especially considering there's no dailies this time around. People can poke around the more general sales themselves!

The problem isnt the dailies, its having an overview of good Indies in the see of thousands of games. I think its pretty useful, but I think I'll stick with doing it once per year during the summer sale.

Wow. That looks very polished for a Jam entry

Hello Indie GAF!

I am looking for a strategy/survival/exploration game and Thea: The Awakening seems to have everything I am looking for.

I just want to know if there are more games that you could recommend me.

I want emphasis on exploration/survival, not combat. The less combat the better.

Thanks!!!

The Curious Expedition looks really good.

I am following The Long Dark, just going to wait to get out of early access.
Curious Expedition is great and they're updating it like twice a month.

Edit: Anyone know anything about Gridworld? It looks interesting, but there's barely any info about it anywhere.
