Unfortunately the Universim demo isn't a proper demo. It Just shows some parts of the planet while explaining what they are and letting you control the camera a bit. It's just a tech demo that also advertises the alpha.
It's very disappointing. It just goes around saying things similar to "This is the planet you'll spend most of the alpha on", "These are trees. They'll provide oxygen so they're important", "There are different seasons that will affect survival" etc while showing off those things for a few seconds, only letting you pan the camera around. It's just an advertisement for the alpha really, it mentions it quite a few times.
It should be ok to post here because it is indy game as well
I have play only this game for month. Pixel art and gameplay are really nice.

Duelyst looks pretty cool, and 10 min gameplay rounds sounds perfect right now since I don't have a lot of free time. Thank you for offering the beta keys, looking forward to this one.

So I was in the mood for some roguelite platformer. And I have to say, while Catacomb Kids has the better systems, Vagante is definitely the better game.
For the longest time, I considered CK better, but as an overall experience, Vagante is far more engaging, tight, and has more personality. Catacomb Kids has so many cool systems, like the synergy between powers and the use of the environment, but the game itself feels shallow at the moment.
While, on the other hand, Vagante has three distinct classes, skills that expand your moveset in varied and unique ways, better procedural level design, more responsive tighter controls.

That game looks so good. I wish I had noticed their KS campaign when it was live. Eh, that's the side effect of the booming indie scene, good games slip through the cracks and go unnoticed.
I'm glad it's still in development though, I hope it turns into something good.

Agreed. Also it's crazy to me how Vagante manages to max a huge difference between 6 pixels worth of steel. The difference between a dagger and sword is huge!

Viridi - Are you familiar with the game called Mountain? Viridi is kind of similar to Mountain as a first sight, though we who played Mountain knows that there are more to that game than what may appear, this is not the case for Viridi and it doesn't necessarily means it's a bad thing. In Viridi you receive the task to nurture a small vase of plants, according to the developers the plants grows in real time and being succulent plants they are very resilient to the lack of water, just don't forget to irrigate them at least once time per week.
The game is free to play, and you can buy more seeds on the games store, the seeds are cheap enough and you can receive a free seed once per week and if you own the previous game released by the developers you get some bonus.
The game is very relaxing, you just click on the icon to water each one of the plants, listen to the music that is playing in the background and can let it running while you do work, browse the internet or whatever you do with your computer. While I'm enjoying watching my plants grow I recognize this isn't a experience for people without an open mind to these kind of games, I can recommend it if you liked Mountains, just don't expect it to be the same thing.
Not sure if its just me or what, but search seems to give me a lot of useless results so I can't tell if these were discussed here before or not. They look pretty neat though, was curious if anyone has any feedback on them.
Leap of Fate is a rogue-lite with a unique blend of hack-and-slash, cyberpunk and cards. As a technomancer, grow your magic, face the challenges of the Deck of Fate, and prove you are the most powerful mage alive.
Mayhem Triple is a violent action-platforming tale of stylish gunplay and evolution gone wrong. Navigate countless epic setpieces to save the world!
Rampage Knights is a cooperative beat 'em up game mixed up with randomized dungeon crawling and exploration, which you can play alone or with a friend online.

20% off pre-order for early employees! Get Human Resource Machine for Win / Mac (plus Steam key) as soon as it's released later this summer. Other platforms TBA.
I have some big news today. The game now has a new name: Manifold Garden.
The original prototype was based on the M.C. Escher print Relativity and just involved changing gravity to walk on walls. The game is so much more than that now. We’ve added a ton of new mechanics, and the game is now really about exploring architecture and consequences in a world where physics is turned upside down.
I want to pick up Life is Strange (not indie I know) but as a mid-week deal 20% off kind of sucks.
Also I'm going to London for a whole month from this Friday. I won't have my PC or Steam - just my Chromebook (so at least I can post here) and my Vita. It's gonna be rough.

I put in a few hours today, making it though the tutorial and first world. When the game came out I knew I wanted it, but I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into. I'm guessing others may feel the same.
-It's a shmup at heart, with the tactical twist of running between stations in the ship.
-As a solo player you choose a companion pet (dog or cat) that you can order around by the simple press of Y and rotating the analogue stick towards the desired station.
-The objective of each level is to free 5 rabbits from cages, there are 10 rabbits total in the levels.
-Scattered around are boxes that add the rabbits locations to your radar, or you can just search around.
- The ship has four main turrets, a shield, an engine, and a yamato cannon which rotates around the ship.
- Three types of gems are scattered around that let you change how each of the weapons, shield and engine work. Upgrades allow for 2 gems per station, allowing for more combinations of abilities. Gems can be placed over other gems, loosing the original, or between levels gems can be unsocketed and placed elsewhere.
So far I'm REALLY impressed. As expected the game looks gorgeous and level themes are constantly evolving. Enemies are varied with some requiring different tactics. The weapon customizations allow for a lot of variation as well. Some are pretty straight forward; some require some finesse.
I've got a lot more to explore with it, but from my initial sitting, it could easily be a GOTY contender.
You might have noticed the D-Pad is now conspicuously unused, and its because were going to let you use it to look around your ships cockpit during flight (simply look down to view the landing camera). Obviously this is all subject to change, but already this new scheme feels a lot more elegant.
In terms of gameplay functionality were planning a few pretty cool additions. Youll now be able to use the signalscope to scan for signals without having to actually look through it, which will be handy for hunting down signals as you roam a planets surface. Were also making the landing camera an actual screen just like the ship computer, and weve modified the jump to give it a bit more physicality. All in all, interesting changes are afoot in the Outer Wilds, but then thats sort of the point.

Come on, that's like the textbook way of saying "we're talking with publishers." I've seen many devs say similar things and later announce they're being published by Devolver or Adult Swim or whatnot.
I'm only playing it solo and having a ton of fun. I mainly just leave the AI companion on the shield which blocks a lot of attacks or allows me to ram enemies. It hasn't been all that challenging so far, but I have had a couple of tense moments and 2 deaths. Like most built-for-coop games, I can see where the experience could be more chaotically fun if I was playing co-op, but the single player is still a very enjoyable alternative for single, reclusive people like me.
It's a blast to play! It's a great mix of semi-peaceful exploration and fight-for-your life encounters. Just finished the second series of levels, with a water theme, and I'm constantly baffled by how it continues to one-up itself not only artistically, but with new enemies, interesting hazards and battle scenarios, and especially by the various weapon customizations. All the weapons, engine and shield upgrades allow for varying tactics that seem very well balanced. Just testing out a new combination is a treat in itself. I'm keeping notes on the pros and cons of each option. Plus I just unlocked a second ship, which literally flips the game on its head.
Instead of the ship always staying orientated the same way it can rotate 360 degrees. Which means you can line up your preferred weapon but you may be running around in an upside-down ship.
I don't know if I can handle it yet.
It reminds me a bit of PixelJunk Shooter, mainly due to its use of color and the similar objective of rescuing captured beings, but the comparison ends there. It's a unique experience unlike anything I've ever played, and so far I'm in love.
Woah woah woah, playable from start to finish they say? I am liking the sound of that. I gotta admit I did kinda forget about Gorogoa and my mind kinda wrote it off as abandoned. Very glad to see I was wrong.

Honestly from the short time I played, I found the solo experience to feel really lacking. Without the other player, It felt like it missing that dynamic spark that would make the crazy experience seen in the trailers. Having to remain stationary to be able to shoot or move the shield (because the alternative is an AI partner with fantastic aim) felt frustrating IMO
