TinyBuild is publishing Streets of Rogue, a Stealth/RPG/Stealth/Co-op Roguelike.

http://tinybuild.com/announcing-streets-of-rogue-the-worlds-only-roguelike-rpg-stealth-co-op-game

The alpha is currently available for free and seems to be getting regular updates if anyone is interested.
Sounds interesting
Will you play as a soldier who shoots first and asks questions later? A stealthy scientist who uses chloroform and tranquilizer darts to silently take down the opposition? A genial bartender who can talk his way past the most intimidating of guards? Or how about a hyper-intelligent gorilla, rescuing other caged gorillas to form a small mobilized gorilla army?

Well, shit, Streets of Rogue is awesome. First playthrough I was a gangster, which meant rival gangs would attack on sight and I could recruit followers

Second time, I was a shapeshifting alien that could possess anyone on the map, so I killed my target by jumping between different bodies to whittle down the target's health and letting him kill the dazed people when I jumped out of them. And then I needed to break into a chest, so I lured the shopkeeper outside by knocking on the window and jumping into her body. Walking right past the security camera and unlocked the chest with her key.

Of course as a naked alien, any cops will fight you and you can't enter certain places without being asked to leave

Streets of Rogue - Free alpha (PC)
SOR24-1024x576.png

http://streetsofrogue.com/

Streets of Rogue is a rogue-lite about player choice, freedom, and anarchic fun. The game takes inspiration from fast-paced top-down rogue-lites like Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne, and adds free-form, experimentation-driven, emergent gameplay elements of RPGs like Deus Ex. Rather than taking place in a dungeon, the game is set in a functioning, procedurally generated city, where complex AI informs denizens from all walks of life, who are just trying to get by in their daily activities. In order to progress, the player will need to accomplish specific mission goals in any way they see fit through use of their special character traits, items, and the environment.

Oh god, so many games.

How's The Warlock of Firetop Mountain? It looks great but the interface makes it seem like it's a port of a mobile game. Not that there's anything wrong with mobile games! I just like to play the best version.

I'm thinking of going with The Turing Test because it sure is stylish. And Eurogamer was very positive!

Overland isn't actually on sale. Not on Steam, anyway. "Available: When The World Ends"

It's eventually coming to mobile next year, but this PC version is the only one right now

You have to get Overland from itch.io; it's part of their Early Access program

Thanks! I wound up buying Overland, RunGunJumpGun, The Turing Test and The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. That's on top of the WoW expansion.

..I may have gone overboard.

I'm interested to hear how RunGunJumpGun is

It's really tough! Feels great to play though. UI/character animation and feedback is top notch.

It may rely a bit too much on memorization for my taste. Just surviving later levels is virtually impossible your first time though, let alone getting the collectible things. This kind of design makes sense with the levels being so short but I'm not sure I like it.

This feels like a strange opinion for a fan of Trackmania and Super Meat Boy. It probably has to do with the forced scrolling speed. You never get any time to think or survey an upcoming area.

(The super-simple inputs make me think a mobile port is on its way)

Slayaway Camp - Free (PC)
ARXggvl.gif

http://slayawaycamp.com
http://www.kongregate.com/games/bluewizardgames/slayaway-camp

Slayaway Camp is a killer puzzle game in which the player controls Skullface, a psychotic slasher bent on slaughtering all the teen counsellors at the title campground. Depicted in colourful voxel graphics, the adorable murderer slides around isometric puzzle designs decapitating, squashing, and perforating blocky teen victims. It’s a clever logic game that also happens to be a bloody tribute to eighties trash horror.

New game from Blue Wizard Digital which Cosmochoria dev Nate Schmold is involved in. Available to play for free on Kongregate.com right now, with additional platforms including Steam (Mac/PC) coming soon and eventually iOS/Android!

Having a lot of fun playing this. Has a really cool 80's VHS horror movie feel and has some pretty great logic puzzles as the gameplay. Seems like there's a lot to unlock with over 200 puzzles. You can also unlock a bunch of different serial killers and kill animations. As you play you unlock VHS videos that are sequels, each containing the next 10 levels of the game, it's a really fun way of progressing and once you have completed a video you unlock extra "delete scenes" which are even more levels for that "video". Cool stuff and worth checking out.

Saw The House Abandon being talked about on Twitter earlier. It seems really neat; I'll probably try it tonight
if I'm brave enough
.

Scraping in here with a cross post from the dev thread, but! I'm looking to get some feedback on the latest Wildfire build.

Specifically I'd love to know how it runs on your machine. I've tried to make some performance optimisations, but I only have two systems here to test on so it's not the broadest selection. There's an FPS counter in the top left.

I'd also like to know if any mechanical or AI interactions in the game are still unclear. I've re-thought how we communicate AI alert states and tutorials, but I do need to figure out if anything has slipped through the cracks.

Download here (Windows, ~80MB): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xl9zyxjsukdn8jq/wildfire_alpha_sepv1.zip?dl=1

Here's also a quick YouTube runthrough of the latest build, so you know what you're getting into: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGTMmCUKU6c

Cheers!

I have a 3-4 yr old card (660ti) and the game ran great for me. It was usually around 300-500fps, the lowest I witnessed was around 98fps. I played around 10 minutes and thought everything was pretty straightforward. The game ran well and controlled nicely. I'll definitely go back and play a bit more later.

Edit: Game is bugged as hell.

Don't Disturb - 3.14 € (PC)
ss_f1716e57c29c4cd4c067277b657cd3a11e69e54a.600x338.jpg

http://store.steampowered.com/app/501840

In the traditionally timid and reserved cultures of Asia how do people approach and accept the idea of “death”? What is the "afterlife"? It is said that when there's a funeral you don't sing, don't play, and most importantly “Don't Disturb”! This is a single-player puzzle adventure game with a beautiful and unique 2D style. You will explore this mysterious world as a dog, looking for its owner who has passed away.

Scraping in here with a cross post from the dev thread, but! I'm looking to get some feedback on the latest Wildfire build.

I've got an i3 3.10 GHz procesor with 4 gb of RAM and it works fine for me. Frame rate fluctuated between about 200 to 450 although the one part that noticeably dropped was with the few screen of the
burning village in the first level.
The game swapped between 30-60 fps at these screens, so completely playable but still quite a drastic drop.

Mechanics wise their were no real problem with understanding. Everything was explained properly and the icons clearly show what the foes state is at the moment. I wouldn't be opposed to letting the player move the camera freely a bit to scout the level ahead, I found myself being blindsided by guard locations a few times.

But yeah, it looks overall like it is coming together fantastically and I look forward to seeing the finished Wildfire.

Seasons after fall is out just now. I'd love to get this but i think my laptop will not be powerful enough... which is a shame as it looks stunning visually and has the sort of gameplay i'd enjoy.

New Game Announcement!:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/510620/

THOTH is a trance-like twin-stick shooter with a vibrant rush of colors, shapes, and patterns, and a brutal electronic soundtrack. Designed to require both puzzle solving and finesse, players constantly need to think about positioning and timing while making sure to both dodge enemies and avoid collisions.

Trailer

It's developed by Carlsen Games (designer Jeppe Carlsen of Limbo, Inside, and 140) and published by Double Fine. It's slated for October.

As a massive fan of 140, I'm sold. Looks very arcade-y, and reminiscent of one of my favorites from this year, Soft Body.
