IndieGogo - Windows 10 GPD Handheld -299$ "A Laptop Fitting in Your Pocket"

Seems like they are going back to the plastic case which is understandable if they have heat under control now.

Posted in another thread but since PGS's kickstarter was canceled the Win has gained over 200 backers the past couple days.

{E} Regarding speakers in top.
Thanks for support. It may hard to achieve,as we adopt the full lamination technology for the screen and it's only 3mm or 4mm thick,so i think it may hard to install a speaker on side of the screen.Anyway,I will transmit your suggestion to our team.

If anyone wanted it through Indiegogo, now is your last chance - only 2 left.

Finally backed it myself off the back of the Samurai Warriors and Dark Souls 2 footage. Looks fantastic.

Don't forget that Smach Z kickstarter is going up early next month. According to indiegogo GPD win will retail for around 500$.

I think its a bullshit numbers they threw up to incentive preorders. I have no doubt it will be cheaper than that. Although that said, I can see it increasing a little bit 40/50$ from the current price.

Was hoping someone would post that DKII video since I didn't want to double post.
Just to note the Dark souls video, Skyrim and Samurai warrior and Dynasty warrior videos are on fanless passive cooling Z8700 test units where we will have fans.
From Baidu they seem to have gotten a supply of Z8750's I think, being dyslexic and relying on google translate does't always mesh well.

Soo because I always find this data interesting 1703 JD (China only I think) units $460,538, 1232 Makuake (Japan) $483,047, 2093 Indiegogo (worldwide, mostly Japan and USA though) $654,943 for a total of 5028'ish units and $1,598,528 plus authorized third party resellers that have it up for preorder.

Also you can still preorder from third party sellers for $330 or even less for some sites that have discount codes.
It will probably be in the $400 area once launched, one Spanish seller said the price would rise to the equivalent of $380 once preorders are over and the Win starts shipping out but theres no guarantee that will be final.

The video didn't load well for me
How did dark souls 2 looked? Lowest setting barely cracking 30?

The GPD XD is my emulation machine but I wanted this to play a good Chuck of my steam collection (mostly indie or 2Dish titles) and generally anything easier on windows (fan games or RPG maker stuff)

If ds2 is playable then that would be crazy good

Both videos on Baidu and Youko are terribly slow loading for me if Youko decides to work at all.
Wait like a minute or so for the Dark souls video to start playing.
its seems to run decent but it is a terrible video so I can't tell for sure.
Also doesn't the game run terrible without a fan patch or am I thinking of something else?

Missed out on the Kickstarter orders but eh only JUST now seeing seeing some videos come out and see how games handle. Im happy waiting for a deal sometime this year and seeing Reviews/Impression.

GPD confirmed its getting the Z8750 on JD.

Pretty sure all are playing on the fanless Z8700 prototypes.
I know our forums are visited a lot by each other so just gonna say thanks to vcoleiro1 over on Dingoonity for collecting and posting most these videos.

I think I see some that haven't been posted yet but I don't have the time to go through it right now.

Some stuff I find from the Chinese forums but most is from the Dingoonity forums.
In the Win thread there's a guy who has collected over 100 games he wants to play on the Win and now he's bought a Beelink BT7 which is pretty much identical specwise, just with a Z8700.
http://boards.dingoonity.org/gpd-devices/gpd-win-on-indiegogo/1800/
He's gonna be testing a lot of games to see how they play
http://apusilicon.com/beelink-bt7/
Eventually that should act as a wiki page for list of games playable on the BT7 and should be on the Win.

Would this thing be able to run Street Fighter V? The closest thing I have to a portable version of that is playing it on Surface Pro 4, and it's not exactly the most ideal solution for playing it on the go.

The Surface Pro 4 is more powerful than this.

You could have run it on the Surfacebook with the dGPU, but that's a different beast.

I assume something changed, since I just went there and they are offering it for $330 with only 15/100 claimed.

They had 200 that were gone, those are the what the post you quoted referred to.

They put 100 more for preorder, which is what you see right now.

just ordered one

i found myself in love with retro gaming since i have my surface pro 4 M3 (dont like a lot fan noise of I5/7 and i mostly use it for office/internet/media player)

Ive been able to play until N64/PS1 games ( i tried ps2 but framerate wasnt perfect, or i had to lower resolution so much that it wasnt very good on big screen)

but i LOVE remote play on it as well.

im in vacation now with a slow wifi, and i forgot my DS4 ! so i cant play anything , this device would be perfect for vacation

cant wait

can we expect PS2 games? GC? DC ?

The only thing that made me hesitate is Nintendo NX as it could be better, but still this sound like a great device

Yeah, this is tempting. That said I will wait till it's sold from somewhere with a good return policy (i.e. Amazon or NewEgg).

I would really like someone to do a 3dmark06 benchmark so I can compare it to my pc from 2008, I think it's capable of playing crysis on medium or even high at playable framerates.

I believe it can run Crysis a video was made on it using the old fanless prototype, it can run games well depending on the game"s cpu/gpu usage. Having a small screen means resolution has to be put way down, that helps run these games better then something like a Surface Pro 3, plus fan should help stop throttle or severely reduce it.

Nice, PS2 emulation looks pretty good on this thing. I think I'll wait until it's actually out before I order, but I'm definitely interested.

one of the few last answer, it seems confirmed Z8750

what can we expect to be able to emulate with this? PS2? dolphin?
how does it compare with my surface pro 4 M3? includiing the difference in native resolution

GPD released a compilation of a bunch of videos from testers of the fanless Z8700 which includes game titles of each one as they play through.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAOxmVVoHBs&ab_channel=PDG
Near the end there is a short clip from some eroge, it doesn't show anything explicit but just giving a heads up.

I wonder what would be the battery life like? Comparatively speaking, how is the battery versus a conventional laptop? Maybe we can use that as a gauge..

Anyone making a OT close to when this releases? Would be cool to have a detailed OT with what games run well at what FPS and Resolution, believe someone on dingoonity is going to run a few games on a system that has the same specs to give a good overall understanding on the games that will run well.

I'd be up to do this.

Will there be an option for no fan? I get that it helps throttle but I also hate playing on something that sounds like an F16, especially when it's my hand.

I would mostly play Indies on this thing, but even some of them seem to make my Mac's fans go bananas (Darkest Dungeon, I am looking at you).
