Speaking of Razer, I guess their Gaming Tablet wasn't a success, since there's no successor in the foreseeable future.

It was huge. The controller attachment was sold seperately and was also huge

And it was expensive.

Honestly the GPDwin is amazing for it's size (Again, same size as 3DS XL) and price. Also when more people other than me are trying to push the system and a community is formed, I think we'll squeeze out lots of performance from this guy.

I think there is room for a slightly larger clamshell device (6.5" screen and to make room for a bigger/better heatsink + battery) but for now I'm really happy with the GPD Win. So glad all of the BIOS options are available. Who knows, maybe someone will figure out a way to overclock the GPU or CPU? As it is right now, HWinfo sees my CPU as the Pentium N3710 so maybe I have an easy way to unlock an extra 100Mhz on the GPU?

Again, I'm very happy with what was produced and I'm super excited to see where the community takes this thing.

Folks on Dingoo sure are fuming over the botched shipping.

Despite the sloppy handling over the whole affair the reality is that no other company besides GPD would be able to deliver a niche product like the Win at such a low value and in such a short time frame.

Yeah, it's honestly pretty amazing that we are getting the GPD Win at all.

Basically it only sucks for IGG and Japanese backers. JD.com made out like bandits and everyone that bought from Resellers are getting them faster than originally announced.

So provided that you weren't a backer, things would look just peachy. Having said that, I paid in full in February and I'm still waiting to get it.
 
Been doing a little research in potential performance increases in advance of my new GPD Win coming in and came across this while browsing the GPD Win reddit.

They provide unofficial drivers for Intel HD Graphics chipsets. Anyone here have any experience with these? Gonna look into a bit more but thought I'd go ahead and share.

Never back hardware on crowdfunding sites if you want to get it in a timely manner. You should see the nightmare that was the GCW-Zero release. People were still waiting for units more than a year after its release.

I've looked into them previously but when I asked on their facebook page a few months ago if they supported the HD405, they never responded. I could give it a go.

Edit: good lord. Just downloading it makes me feel like I shouldn't bother. So much malware crap adware

That'd be awesome but I know your plate is full.

Also, any chance you can tell me how big the fan area is on the underside of the unit? If I remember correctly, it is about 25mm.
 
Did anyone who was on the review list get an email saying the review unit shipped? Not sure if I have 1 or 2 being shipped to me right now.

I mean, as it is, I had the 8700 coming to me that I *bought*. But I don't know if I have a review unit coming to me as well.

Oh this story ain't over yet. Some people are still waiting for their kickstarter units, it's really crazy how badly Justin fucked this up.

Yeah, that's what I understood. I knew you bought your 8750 unit from a gaffer, also bought a 8700 from IGG and asked for a review unit. So I was expecting you to receive two from IGG.
 
How many of you who ordered from Geekbuying in the last month~ish have gotten shipping notifications? I ordered a week ago and still haven't gotten one, although I got an email this morning (I inquired over the weekend) that it should ship in 1-2 days. We'll see.

Edit: Actually nm, Megaman X is running at 22FPS. So, it's not playable.

Edit edit: speaking of, I did order a 256GB MicroSD from those ones that people got for free through the Samsung Promo. Should arrive this week. I guess I'll put the 200GB in my other GPDwin.

Controlling the mouse via the right analog stick is quite comfy. Also I *really* like the shoulder buttons now. Turns out there is a good reason for them to be loose. Essentially, you can rest your entire finger across the triggers and easily push one or both at the same time.

Quick update:

Snes9x 1.53 (9/29/16) works perfect. 60FPS sometimes I saw it go to 59fps.

Uploading two more videos:

Counter Strike Go and Starbound

CS Go runs at 25~FPS regardless of resolution.

Starbound runs at 40~ FPS (which is completely fine by me. Looking forward to actually playing this game now)

Is the default analog mouse usable in FPS games? Or do I go back to pinnacle, xpadder, and the like to play older games without pad support. If the direct input mode works with Steam's Dual Shock 4 menu, when it's released, that'd be ideal.

I only have a Geekbuying order, but if I don't get some kind of confirmation within a few weeks, I'm definitely contacting Paypal for a refund and will just wait to pick up a GPD Win from a U.S. seller later on.

They also include a "free gift" and I'm trying to inquire as to what it is. I bought another gpd win as a gift for my brother on geekbuying just now -- let's see if I get it before my IGG unit.
