Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

metroid inspired games are always welcome but the art looks really disgusting.

its nice to see a dark coloured girl as a heroine, hope to see this kind of stuff more often...

On the topic of the demo - what is the point of the low-attack of the shaman, exactly? It's extraordinarily weak and unimpressive. Do I get something if I finish off an enemy with it? Is it supposed to combine with some other attack?
It's a status effect - slows the enemy down so they attack less often.

Geez, people are really torn over Alex's art. Personally I think it's fantastic and very expressive.

I think his art is pretty great too. It has a nice balance between keeping body proportions appropriate while doing some interesting designs and the drawing style is cool too.

Yeah I'm generally not a fan of this style, but this especially seems so generic. Everything looks like characters I see in Neogaf profile pics. The character anime art and the 3D levels it just don't work well together. Came to this topic for the Metroid and just not feeling it.

Wait what?

Really? The art style is generic?

THAT is generic?

GAF has a love-hate relationship with anime it's no surprise.

I remember when people held off on Dust because "eeeew furry".

Disgusting? Generic? I mean, I get that people can have their own tastes, but wow. :|

As for the 3D backgrounds, it's still a work in progress. It won't look like that in the finished product.

I went and connected a controller to my computer for the first time to play the demo properly. (I tried it with a keyboard before.) When I did that everything felt great, and the combat clicked with me. It was very satisfying. When I pay off my outstanding bills I'm going to put 60 dollars toward this. I may go up depending. Until then I will spread the word about this game among all my circles. I really hope this campaign succeeds.

I was originally holding off on backing to see if I get the job I interviewed for recently, but I just gave up and backed for $30. If I get the job later, I'll just up my pledge.

  • I'm still not seeing this major advertising support IGG is supposed to be giving you guys. Where/what is it?
  • These Lab Zero streams are pretty awesome (I unfortunately can't catch any of them live this week) but you guys need to get on more well known streams (Rather than "preach to the choir" you need to move into sight of those who don't know much about you). How did IGA & crew arrange their Kind of Funny Games launch stream? Did they pay for that? Or did they just ask KFG and they said ok? Did they say ok because it was IGA or would they say ok to others as well?
  • There seems to be some recent resentment about the state of Metroid. Maybe play up this is one of the more Metroid-esque things you'll probably see in the near future? Granted you aren't releasing on a Nintendo platform but I'm sure some Metroid fans own systems this will release on.
  • Also, please don't hesitate to invoke "nuclear options"
I'm not sure how a Waifu Wars could play out for this campaign but if you can figure out a way DO IT.
Now, if this campaign was a runaway success, I'd clearly be wrong. But it isn't, and I know the reason I'm not backing it is the price, and I know I'm not the only one. I really want to see the project succeed, if for no other reason than Lab Zero does a phenomenal job putting together open, honest campaigns with the level of transparency every campaign should have. But as is, it seems dead in the water, and in my opinion, the price is a major sticking point.

I can understand if you're someone with a brief, passing, minor interest in the project but I'm not really sure how you can say the bolded but then think $30 is TOO MUCH OMG :/ Like really?

That being said, putting a $20 "digital game only" tier can't be a bad idea (and perhaps find a cheap way to add value to the $30+ tiers so those who already jumped on but might not care about the wallpapers or OST don't bitch)

Next Incarnation revealed! Her name's Kushi, "a cheerful young falconer".

That is one big bird.

EDIT: One thing I really like about the game so far is the variance in body types. We've already got all shapes and sizes out of the Incarnations revealed so far!

Is this girl inspired by the recent (first) falconer girl in Mongolia? Love the exaggeration btw.

A tiny Mongolian falconer is pretty much the first thing that came to mind when I saw her flash by in the trailer. The sheer potential for Jojo's references is currently making me shake.

Oh man, that character's great! I've always wanted to have a falconer party member in an RPG. All the character designs for this game have been so good.

Yeah, the design work here is amazing.

That Falcon looks like a Pokemon in the best way :P
And Kushi seems super cute.

GOAT incarnation until you reveal a literal goat herder.

Ohhhhhhh my god,
I finally beat that damn cat! NG+ Clearest means I got everything, right?

I can't wait to finally chip in after this weekend. I can't get over that bird, just thinking of Kushi's moveset is making me hyped.

Will we get colored versions of the previous incarnations? Just realized this was the first one that wasn't black and white.
