If you try to lynch someone for being "bad town or scum" I have to worry about whether you actually think said person is scum or if it's just a safe lynch for you to sit on.

If confirmed townie Kawl does the same I don't have to worry about his motivations and can decide whether or not to vote based on the player (Dusk) alone.
 
I do see the case against flame. One of those situations where I can see scumminess but the low amount of material makes me feel it's pretty difficult to take a hard stance on him
 
I dunno how to read Oceanic but nothing really feels ehh.

LP is worried about stuff and this sentence has more words in it than he has posts in this thread and somehow his posts still carry that feeling of being worried. Dare I say SUPERTOWN. Usually this means he is scum.
 
I'm thinking flame_AC may be scum, just the right amount of posts to not posting, I don't really understand the Bronx man vote.

However, I'm getting scum tells from timeaisis as well. It could be lunch/break posting, but his posts seem stacked. Like he doesnt have much to worry about. However, like I said, it could just be posting during lunch/breaks (I know I'm just as guilty). And Timeaisis has voted for flame_AC.

So, for the time being, I'm voting for flame_AC. Just got that feeling today.

I know it's bad town play not to fight your own lynch, but I don't really have the time today to devote to that.

Lynching me is a very very obvious mislynch, and it's never a good idea to lynch someone you think is town.

At least that's what I was told after Anime mafia, but apparently that rule only apllied to that game.

Anyways SkyOdin is my top scum suspect. After I placed a joke vote on Ri'Orius, he asked me to clarify my intentions. My vote was something most town would brush off as nonsense, but something a scum player would be concerned about if the vote was on a teammate.

Hmmm. See I kinda thought the reason for my vote on Bronx-Man was, while not obvious, something some of y'all would see. Someone earlier mentioned how I just had mentioned Bronx-Man as a lynch candidate a day or two ago, that was just based off gut bad feeling. Fast forward to my vote: I saw the Dusk Soldier train happening, was partially okay with it, but didn't want to jump on it myself. So then I saw Bronx-Man drop their vote with no explanation and so, to me, I said that was enough for where I was on Day 1 and threw my vote down.

I'll role claim in the next ~10 minutes if no one posts an objection.

Yes. I know. But I'm going on a 6-7 hour car trip in like 15 minutes. So now with ~2 (3) votes, I have to decide if I should roleclaim or just hope a train doesn't end up forming on me. I hope you can see my conundrum?
 
Finally caught up this morning. There were a few posts that stood out to me as I was catching up, but the multi-quote feature has failed me.

First of all, when CCS was being asked about why Absolutbro was defending him, CCS said that maybe it was because he was trustworty. I think that is a very odd statement, since we are playing a game of lies and doubt. Trust between townies is an important part of town winning, but it needs to be earned and built up. For example, while I currently think cabot is making good points, I certainly don't trust him. I just figure that if cabot is mafia he is probably bussing his teammates if they make any major errors. So attributing anyone's actions to trust at this stage of the game rings hollow.

The other post that caught my eye was Timeaisis's post where he claimed that he was the only one who thought Flame_AC was suspicious. But I had listed Flame_AC as possible scum yesterday, and Kyanrute had just finished making a few long arguments as to why Flame might be scum. It makes me feel that Timeaisis isn't giving this thread his full attention. Maybe he is following the mafia chat too much?

Why would I brush off a vote as nonsense? People leave votes without justification all the time for a variety of reasons. While there was reason to think it was just a joke, I like to press people to make sure. There are times where, by either malicious intent or simple inertia, a simple joke vote is left until the end of the game where it becomes a real vote.

I noticed this as well but didn't think to post anything about it.

I'm not going to claim, so if I do survive, scum will just have to think if they wanna spend a night on me. It might turn out great for them, or who knows, it could go poorly.

Hmmm... I am not sure what to think about Flame AC. My original read on him was that he was trying to keep his head down and avoid attention. Now he is threatening to role claim. If he did role claim a PR, I might be inclined to believe him. However, if he is a PR, it would be best if he didn't claim.

I think we can sort Flame out in Day 2. I don't think he is a good Day 1 lynch.

Anyways, I think there is definitly some suspicious activity amongst CCS, Ri'Orius, and Dusk. I also think OceanicAir is definitely coasting. I tend to think that Dusk Soldier is town, since I think mafia chat would have advised him differently. Since I have to narrow it down, I guess I will go for Ri'Orius.

To me this is asking for a level of confidence that is unrealistic. If someone honestly thinks at this point in the game that they've identified a scum with more than 50% confidence, either they're better at this game than I think is humanly possible or they're drinking their own Kool-aid.

Mafia, on day one in particular, is not a game of certainty. It's a game of margins. Voting off the scummiest player, being wrong 60+% of the time, but learning from the ensuing chaos.

I would vote Dusk or Flame today. If Flame is going on a trip and has no means to defend himself, I do agree that is not optimal for anyone.

Yeah, that was my bad. I was trying to catch up this morning and put my thoughts down early in the day and missed Kyan's post about Flame.
 
I just realised I forgot to go over Bronx Man earlier, but reading his posts back now it's not as bad as I thought. The "Kyan fishing" thing is a red flag (because it looks like he copied something without understanding it) and the unexplained Dusk vote is... not ideal but ok. Apart from the Kyan thing I quite like Bronx's start to the game.
