inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Well, I got my first platinum a few days ago. My hard~evil run went very smoothly, although I found myself repeating things needlessly from my first run. For one, I actually went through and got all the blast shards, again (this time with a map from the onset). I also performed all 21 stunts, which was surprisingly easy the second time around, as I was able to finish the first 20 before entering the Warren; it was helpful that enemies lob grenades quite often on hard. XP was definitely a limiting factor, but I found some easy repeatable missions later in the game that I could farm.

So, highly recommended, even the second time around. I hope more people pick up inFAMOUS when they get a new PS3 Slim.

Nice on the platinum! Fuck I love this game; GOTY so far.

Wow just wow, I finally got around to beating the game and holy shit. It was an awesome ride and they need to bring on infamous 2 quickly. Great game and one of the best games Ive played this year.

Did you get that one shard on one of the piers on one of the islands? I don't remember the exact location but you had to jump from wooden pole to wooden pole out in the ocean to get it. It was the last one I needed when I was missing one.

Yup :( that's what I meant by "all the hard ones". That one, the one at the very end of the huge pier on the second island, etc.

Yep! Like I said: The best game this gen (for me) :-)

Right, I've got a couple of questions.

Can anyone tell me how many missions this game has?

Secondly, anyone got a map of all the blast shards included?

48 main missions
15 good sidequest
15 evil sidequest
69 neutral sidequest

Is it true that you can find one shard once :

The tunnel collapse ?

Do get all the trophies do I have to complete all side missions?

I've had a long gap from playing this game but I'm feeling like I want to go back to it. I'm only missing a few of the harder trophies like collecting all the shards and doing all the stunts... Not sure if I have the patience to do them though. Should I start a new game for the shards or just break my L3 button looking for them on a current save?

Just completed the game as good Cole. Brilliant game. Loved every minute of it. I had no idea an open world game could be so fun. It is probably one of the best games I've played, and I usually HATE open world games.

I loved the presentation though the story was a bit random.
Kessler is Cole? lulz

Now I think it's time to do an evil Cole run on hard mode. I hope it isn't too hard, because some parts on normal were somewhat annoying. The one thing I didn't like about this game is the fact that 500 enemies attack you at once and I can see this being a bit of a pain in the neck at hard mode.

Still cannot bring myself to finish off this game. There are some really awesome parts in it, but the repetitiveness of it all overshadows any good thoughts I have about the game unfortunately.

The side missions are probably repetitive, but the main missions aren't.

This game is so awesome!

I got it around a week ago and about to finish Warren. I'm having so much fun with inFamous.
Climbing on a building, grinding on a power line, jumping to another one, and then thunder-drop on an enemy. This is so satisfying.

I love the combat too. It feels tight, and when there's too many enemies around me, I go to my good friends - the shock grenades. They do quite a damage.

So far I collected all the dead drops available and around 260 blast shards I think.

I think that after I'll finish the good run, I'll give it a rest for a few weeks, and get back to it for an evil and full of chaos run.

This has to be one of the easiest games to finish. You have infinite lives and the checkpoints can't be more generous. Just trod through the main missions till the end. It shouldn't take long.

Finally got back into this. Started playing when it first came out and seriously got sidetracked on other games (even though this is probably better than the games that sidetracked me) and from the looks of things I think I should be fortunate that I still don't know the ending.

You must hate every sandbox game ever made. inFamous has some of the better side missions with growing variety as the game progresses, most sand box games have 3-4 that repeat over and over, Red Faction comes to mind recently.

I can finally enter this thread and read it. :) I completed inFAMOUS as a Hero today, and what can I say, the game was amazing. I didn't think that the story or the characters would make me feel for them, but somehow Sucker Punch made it happen. I just loved the game from beginning to end. I got quite a bit of trophies, all of the blast shards, and all of the dead drops. I just have to do all the stunts, because I only have 16 as of now. Will definitely replay the game in a week as Evil.

The ending was a total shocker for me. I didn't think that Kessler was Cole from the future at all. The fight with him was pretty cool too, and I liked that everything went back to where everything started. At the end of the credits when Cole said he was all alone made me feel for him. It's just sad that he will never be normal again, and the love of his life is gone. At least she is while playing Hero, I don't know if she survives when you play Evil. The buildings in the game were total omg moments too, because I'm afraid of heights. The tall structure in Warren scared me quite a bit, especially when I fell from it.

So, yeah, overall a great game, and I look forward to a sequel if there is one in the works. :)

Ha, so excited to get this in the mail in a day or two - getting "old" (33 :lol ) with kids I have finally gotten in the mode of not jumping on these single player games at launch and just waiting to get them through Goozex or at steep discounts 3-4 months after they release.

good policy unless you fell in the mistake of buying dmc2:(

Very long, if you're looking to do both Hero and Infamous runs. 50 hours is my guess.

I'm not looking to buy any new games until I finish my old ones either. I've got Dead Space and Bioshock still to complete!

Was listening to the latest Giant Bombcast, and around the 22 minute mark Jeff talks about inFAMOUS, and how it finds it absurd that anyone could compare it to Prototype. He goes on to say that its in a whole different level, and that its a whole star better... at least.

Being a poor college kid, i'm glad I chose the better game. :lol

Just finished the game.
That was a great ride - from start to finish.
I never felt the game dragged on or was boring at any point, especialy beacuse every now on then there's something new to spice up things.

I cleaned up Neon in terms of territory, have 97% at Warren (don't know where's that last side mission) and not much at the Historic District. The side missions aren't on my map, so I'll just screw around.

Hero run
Normal difficulty
340\350 shards
All dead drops
17\21 stunts

Will probarly start an evil run sometime soon.
I'm still contemplating if to try and find the last shards...

Thank you Sucker Punch for this great great game.

Now I just have one dillema - do I want Sly 4 or inFamous 2.
If you asked me a week ago, I would have go with Sly, but after that ending cut-scene, I'm not so sure anyomre.

DMC2 sucks but it's short as fuck, I played it at a friends house just messing around and I beat it in around 3 hours. It's bad compared to the others, but it's completely playable and easy to beat.

But yes it's probably better off as a weed plate.

wat ? DMC2 ? there is DMC2 ?

there are just DMC1 and DMC3 , this DMC2 nonsense is just a myth and a story for kids to scare them from shitty games .

what next ? DMC4 with new emotional lead character who is trying to save his girl or something stupid , you guys are crazy and should smoke weed .

yeah, they were spot on with the infamous/prototype discussion. The fact that people here (And well other places) were doing VS talk about I/P was baffling to me. One whole star on a 5 star chart ... means Infamous is roughly 20/100 better than Prototype. :P

Anyhow, Infamous is/was one of the best games I've played this year. Very satisfying. Fact is, I finished it in good/ and in evil.

Mmmm

highly recommended

I also don't get the talk about "lack of polish" with the game. I played it twice and wouldn't pick on it for "lack of polish". I honestly didn't get what people were talking about when they used that in conjunction with Infamous.

Well, let the guessing begin. Sucker Punch job listing:
The Lead Character Artist works with the Art Director and Creative Director to shape the design and appearance of characters in our forthcoming AAA title, then leads the team to realize that vision. This position emphasizes the ability to make a big impact doing character modeling and texturing, while leading a small characters team.

any tips to fast xp?.
Complete all side missions. Don't buy any upgrades for the thunder drop or melee. Only buy the Evil power upgrades.

The only "lack of polish" I see is in the in game cutscenes which is hardly necessary, everything else is perfect for me. translation: I don't know how to make it better:/
It's a FUNTASTIC game, what I don't get is the people who compared this to prototype, I mean for fuck sake comparing dog shit to tasty meat makes no sense to me.

I concur that SP is really missing the boat on the lack of DLC for this game, it sold extremely well, I believe over 500k by now and there's so many things they could do for this game as far as DLC goes that a lot of people would buy day and date. I was hoping that they would at least bring out the gigawatt blades to download.

I hope that there's an announcement on DLC one way or another soon, if there's nothing then I'll trade it in after my evil run that I recently started.
