Hi all - VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION (okay, not really, but it's bugging me).

I started a game on the default difficulty (Normal) and when I completed the first twenty minutes it automatically upgraded me to "HARD" difficulty, and I have left it on Hard.

Does this mean I will not get the "Hard Finish" trophy because the first twenty minutes was on the default normal setting?

Does anyone know? Because if so, that will royally piss me off.

Oh, and the game is fantastic.
You'll get it as long as you leave it on hard and beat the game. Just don't manually switch the difficulty. I started on normal as well and was upgraded to hard, and when I beat it I got the Hard Finish trophy.

I came here to post this exact question!

Though I changed it to Hard manually, I think right after the tutorial phase. I'd be pissed if I can't get that Trophy. Why wouldn't it ask before the game started? Ugh.

Yeah, a simple difficulty-select question at the beginning might be nice. Hmmm, maybe I should dial back down to normal and then start a new game and jack it up to hard for my 'evil' playthrough.

P.S - side question: for those wgho have said that the 'blast 3 enemies off a building with shockwave' stunt is really hard to do past a certain point, WHEN is that point? I've yet to pull the stunt off and I am just up to Dustmen-ville, aka The Warren. Have I gone too far to get that trophy on this playthrough?

EDIT: Nightz, thank you, you are a beautiful man.

Not a problem, good sir. And to answer your side question,
The best places to get that stunt are in the Dark Water side missions. So as long as you have more of those missions available, you still have a good chance of getting that stunt.

Question: Is ANYONE doing Evil their first time through?

Yup, but it's really making me feel like a dick! Actually I'm glad because it's compelling me start a new game right away and take the "good" route.

OHHH THE GUILT!

I'm going Evil on my first play through.
You need to add me on PSN. :)

And I think Evil is going to be more fun because you can literally go through the streets destroying everything in sight and it not mattering one bit. :)

Not-so-stealthy edit:

Hey i got a quick question i haven't looked around as i just thought about it while reading, are the gigawatt blades shareable?
I'd love to know this too. I don't have a GameStop anywhere around me and really want it.

It is more fun but it's tougher to play as Hero, because you ALWAYS have to be wary of collateral damage.

So I got the hard part out of the way first, beating the game as Hero... now having my fun as Infamous. :D

I'm playing good. I've been thunder dropping like a mad man and not incurring any penalty, so that's the solution so far for quick drops. It's not so much a problem unless you really are trying to get down to the ground in a very narrow area (like during the train mission).

God this game roxxxxxx. I love gaining territory.

It's been a long time since I have been so addicted to a game, unless it really falls apart towards the end, I truly think that this game should be a contender for GOTY, it's that good.

so there's no 'fast travel' is there? aside from using the train tracks I mean

power lines line the city, you can shoot down towers to get across other roofs that don't have power lines, coupled with hove & train tracks = faster than car travels in other open world games

3 more stunts! I think this is the most difficult part of the game. :(
I'd have to agree. The Blast shards come in a close second, though.. but only because I couldn't find ONE for over 2 hours. lol

But yeah, I still haven't finished the list (Air Sticky Bomb took me forever because they don't float when you're Evil). Up to #20 on my second playthrough, need the damn lightning storm for it!

I really wish I didn't know what was going to happen when I pressed the start button. For those few that buy this game and didn't have prior knowlege of that, they are in for a massive treat. Amazing job on just the opening Sucker Punch. I've never seen anything quite like that before.

What is this? Pressing start in the opening cinematic? Can you explain without spoiling what actually happens?

Did I miss something?

Are your stats cumulative on subsequent play-throughs? Or do you start fresh every time?

Fun game. Jumping off buildings feels great.

Is there a way to pull up a tally of your total count of Blast Shards?
Go to Save Game, highlight your save file and wait a second or two.

Do the Gamestop Promo codes for the exclusive power work yet? Mine doesn't but I just checked the card and it says valid 6/3.....why would they do that is the game comes out a week before that?

Because the game was originally supposed to be released 6/3 but they bumped up the release date by a week.

Question/help:

How do I regain the lost bars on my energy meter after the missions where you get oil in your face?
I think they just come back after the mission is over or something. I remember "waking up" or whatever back at Zeke's and it was fixed.

I was definitely pleasantly surprised when I pressed start.

KA-BOOM!

wooo completed have a nice fall stunt, had to get all metal gear like and sneak up the side of a building, come up behind a chimney thing, then run around the corner and baaam! ...they were having such a nice little campfire too :D

I hope I never get to the point where I can notice things like this. Seems like it would make everything a lot less enjoyable.
I don't really notice it's not 60fps, until it actually IS 60fps. Then it's very cool.
I'm not a framerate junkie AT ALL, but 60fps definitely has a special feel to it.

Is there any reason I got evil karma for doing a story mission? I think it was just the dead drop mission, did I do something wrong?

If I didn't know that Fall is going to have so many big games, I would say that infamous is goty for sure. Only done the first area so far, but this is goty so far for me. This game is so good. Better than Uncharted or Killzone 2. So, so good.

Well, just played a couple of hours and this is going to be a fun ride. Controls are very smooth (Cole moves rather catlike, which is neat), powers are fun to use (kicking fools off tall buildings is awesome) and you know what? Fuck the story complaints because I think the comic book sequences and the little plot so far ain't half bad.

Man, this thread is killing me. I may have to go pick this up tomorrow afternoon.

Just got my copy today and played for a couple hours... holy crap what an awesome game, even though the demo was amazing, actually playing the game is an even better experience.

GJ Sucker Punch.

The platforming in this title is just amazing. First time I've ever played an open world platformer! So much fun attempting to traverse the environment. Getting shards and dead drops are just like finding the orbs and hidden orbs in crackdown. Although a bit easier to spot since you can use your senses to guide you! This aspect definitely feels like Crackdown evolved.

Combat is fun, control is great, and I love how completing missions takes over territory ala San Andreas.

I want to play some more but I need to get some sleep! :lol

Been playing all night I keep getting booted from PSN for some reason, not sure if it's the game or my connection.

I haven't marathon played a game like this in quite some time, and I'm not stopping anytime soon.

Yeah the game is pretty damn awesome. Like it more than the demo since you just get dropped into some random mission. I got myself killed so easily in the demo which was on easy difficulty I think. And the actual game upped me to hard and I'm not having too many problems.

It should work since I got the blades in game.

My unlock code contains a 6 rather than a G. Its the only number out of the 12 characters, which is why i thought it was a G.

Overall im having fun with the game. I dont feel like a super bad ass yet. The main character tries to sound like Solid Snake.

I find the platforming to be slightly unrefined and uneven. Some places you feel like you are playing Prince of Persia which doesnt require any precision at all, yet sometimes it switches into Mirror's Edge mode where you need to be super precise. This all occurs at random and i've suffered a few cheap deaths because of it.

Uhh what? I played for over 12 hours today, I never had this issue at all, the game PULLS me to any ledge/pillar/wire without fail. The only time I've missed a jump was when I clipped threw a wall and fell.

Heh.

Same here.

It's got to be next, right? RIGHT?

:D

Pumped a bunch of hours into this tonight and I'm still not off the first island. This is a pretty massive frickin' game.
