I haven't gotten any 'shield' yet.

is this your first playthrough?

So I started my Evil run, but before I did I re-watched the ending cutscene. Really fantastic, one of my favorite scenes in recent memory.

Am I the only one who somewhat hopes the next game looks more like a comic in-game? I have this hope that they will do all these things to make Sly Cooper 4 look like a comic book then use it in infamous 2. Not that infamous doesn't look good but the cutscenes look VERY different and are overall fit the infamous "vibe" better in my opinion.

Yeah, I should have probably picked the 'evil' route as perhaps it would have been much easier to level up.
I lost count how many times I died just trying to go from my 'medical station' to the next story quest (which was clear across the island) because the enemies can hit you from a long ways away and there weren't many places to recharge power since I hadn't powered-up that section of the map.

It's getting easier now that I've free'd 50% of island 2 but goddamn it was really frustrating when I first got there.

Still, I think Infamous is the best exclusive PS3 game right now.

would be nice if cole had the ability to use his electricity like spiderman's web and swing from building the building :p

You would be nice if you could at least double jump from the ground. With the second jump allowing you to reach the second or third floor of a building rightaway. It's odd they didn't think of this as a power up.

:lol Love to hear the explanation for that one.

Pushed it with electricity being a healing agent, and a bit further with the glider. But a solid-like rope or something would be a bit much.

I would have liked this too.

Damn, I got that one already, thanks.

The obvious power that is missing is a suer charged burst, one that propels him up like a super jump.

The game gets a little easier in terms of having more at your disposal. I haven't hit a wall once yet. It's such a good time and it's hardly felt like a chore to run around hunting for dead drops/shards all the time. I bumped it up to hard the first chance I got at the ruins in the beginning of the game.

Why doesn't the Blast Shards show up on the map? It has a Blast Shards sign there but it's not showing up, does it show up later on in the game? I'm still fairly early in it.

They don't. It's in the legend for when you push L3 and see them on the mini-map.

AranhaHunter said:
Does pushing L3 show up the Dead Drops too?
Yeah, once you've done the first missions that activates them. They appear as a grey mark around the side of the map, until you get close enough, then an MGS like con appears on the map giving you the location.

This is all explained in the first dead drop mission, I believe.

I'm stuck with the stunts challenge after two playthrough. I can't kill any ennemy by throwing him back his grenade with the Shockwave. No matter what I do, it never goes near him or even killing him. Any tips ?

How, and for those who have Gigawatt Blades, how is it ? Is it like Melee with more range or new animations and shits ?

There are a few missions where you'll have enemies with grenade launchers. Wait for those and then simply spend the time practicing a returning serve.

I probably wouldn't progress past those missions until you get the stunt. I completed mine for instance on island 2 in the cargo area when you have to
save Zeke
. You'll come to a guy near a ramp launching grenades by himself and all it takes is practice.

I have one small piece of territory left in Warren (2nd island) and cant figure it out. Is it triggered further down the story or something? Im on the 3rd island already as far as story.

Any story unlocked side missions should be unlocked by the time you move to the next island. The most likely thing is that you need to kill enemies in the area to get a hidden package mission.

I just beat it on Hard, got the evil finish trophy and then there was the most excrutiating wait where I thought 'maybe I didn't bump up the difficulty up soon enough', then the hard finish trophy popped up. God the relief was palpable. Now I need to grind about 900xp to purchase the last evil upgrade for the platinum trophy.

And SP already deserve kudos for the excellent checkpoints in the game, but checkpoints in the final boss earns them super-kudos.

I wish I did my normal playthrough as Infamous, Dunno why but I had more fun as good Cole and the precision/getting energy back powers seem better then his destructive powers. Plus I can't spam heal for exp >_<.

I got that one in an unusual way. An enemy that was standing up against the wall switched to a grenade and was about to throw it when I ran up to him and shockwaved him. He hadn't actually thrown the grenade yet, so he dropped it (at his feet) and the shockwave just knocked him into the wall he was already standing against. Poor bloke fell on the grenade as it went off. You're probably better off following other people's advice re:waiting for a mission with a grenade launcher enemy, but thought I'd chuck my experience in just in case a similar situation presents itself to you.

Sooo, I just finished the game, which means I now have to go back through god knows how many pages of this thread reading spoiler text in order to hear other people's thoughts. I have one question off the top of my head. You get a call from Moya right after
John reveals that she's been lying to you
where she explains things, but I was in the middle of an absolute street brawl, fighting for my life, and didn't hear what she said. Did she
turn out to be FBI, or working for somebody else? John was NSA right?
And why on Earth would
she bother lying about that, it's not like that would have made any difference to Cole anyway. As if he would care if they were married or not, or from different agencies.

I finally found my last blast shard too. Protip: there is one shard on the second island that is partially obscured by
a side mission indicator. It's on the south side of the island, on the first building north of the gas station. Stupid woman offering the mission was standing almost directly underneath the shard, only it was on the side of the building 3 stories or so up. Grrr! I spent hours and hours looking for that one shard; in the end I just guessed that it must be a side-mission indicator obstruction, and I was right :(

Finally finished it on the good side.

Wow, WTF. That was wild, but cool. It kind of got me thinking that The Beast is actually Evil Cole...but that would be some wild double time reserve flip or something...I liked it though.

I believe
John was like, super-secret black-ops dude or something, so the fact that she knew about it totally blew John's mind. Originally Moya was worried about John because they were married, but he didn't even know her, so for her to know him and to want to bring him in is very strange because that means that someone in the government is trying to bring in the Ray Sphere. Or something like that. :lol

Just got my platinum.

EASILY one of the best games on PS3. The game is just pure fucking FUN. WOW THIS GAME IS FUN.

fun.

FUNNNNNNNNNN

I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. It's as if they took everything they learned with the Sly series and used it to correct the GTA series' most glaring problems. The dialogue sort of sucks, but that means nothing when it plays so well.

You would think they would let you somehow use the Shockwave to propel you off the ground and then you can glide from there to a building... and yet, I don't really mind.

I sort of have a love for scaling buildings. Perhaps its my own history in parkour / mountain climbing :D

Seriously.. I love these games with heavy platforming/parkour elements.

In fact, after playing the Uncharted 2 beta, inFamous' platforming controls, animations, and just everything overall feels much more fluid and fun to play with. I hate to say it, but Uncharted's platforming feels kind of.. basic now. I realize it's just a beta, but right now, that's how I feel.

<3 this game

So do my friends. People who I would have never expected liking this game bought it and freaking love it to death. I went to a friends house tonight who plays Call of Duty 4 religiously, and when I got there, inFamous was on the screen, and I was blown away. We spent the rest of the time gushing and splurging about how great it was.

Someone's going to take that last sentence wrong. :P

Exactly how I feel. I played the U2 beta after a couple hours of Infamous and it just felt stiff.

Yes, somebody who feels the same way as I do :D
Nothing like a megawatt hammer and an air born precision head shot.

Started working through the 3rd island on my first play through as Hero

I just unlocked the Lightning ability. Shit's overpowered but AMAZING, I'm glad I get to sustain and control the movement of it, wasn't expecting that. The normal enemies on the 3rd island are also crazy hard to kill, they just don't die. All my abilities save for the last upgrade to my Gigawatt blades and Shock Grenades are maxed out. These guys can take a point blank rocket and still 3 or 4 normal shots while they're floating in the air - I having a hard time even getting High Fall kills anymore because they get up after hitting the ground half the time.

Also, story wise in the beginning of 3rd island...
WTF! Trish is dead, Zeke's a fucking traitor bastard, and Moiya turned out to be a complete liar!
That was a lot of drama!

Got it last week and have slowly been playing it through. I just absolutely love the platforming in this game. You seem to always do what you want to do and I also love how pretty much almost every building is directly scalable. Love how you press L3 and they show where the items are. If this feature wasn't in it, I would be collecting next to nothing but since I can see them all around me I find it fun taking a second of my time to try and collect the items. So far this is a wonderful first effort by Sucker Punch on the PS3.

Finally beat it. Fucking awesome game. Loved the ending/setup for sequel.

I can't wait to go back and play it good instead of evil.

Got the 25 km grinding trophy! I feel so dirty how I got it though. Anyone looking for a cheap and easy way to get it, here's the trick:

On the third island (Historic District it's called I think), there's a circel on your map. When you go there you'll notice powerlines running around it. Climb up, let Cole grind those puppies. Here's the best/cheesiest part: where the line hits another post, Cole automatically continues to grind, he doesn't hop off like most powerlines that hit a post. Just leave Cole there and check back every now and then to see if you got the Trophy.

Spam L3. Seriously, my left thumb has got a autonomous movement in this game: move, press, move, press, etc. If I encounter enemies, I keep doing it.

That's because they have completely different climbing mechanics.

In inFamous, Cole has the ultimate leg strength, giving him the ability to launch himself up to 5 feet in the air off of ANYTHING, including the sides of buildings.
In Uncharted, it's more realistic - you're not going to be able to bank yourself off of a wall to make it up to a ledge 10 feet above ground. You're going to need something else to grab onto first, then make the transition from that ledge to the next.

Not if you do all the sidemissions.
I skipped them completely on Hard and had to grind my ass off near the end w/ the Street Fight missions (kill almost everyone, kill myself, repeat). lol

Couldn't you just grind the train tracks on a fully powered island?

You will most definitely have to grind a fair bit, but it's pretty easy at the end-game.

During the mission on the 3rd island where you need to activate the 3 generators, at the third one, stand on top of it, kill all the baddies up until the SECOND truck arrives. Let it kill you or just commit suicide, and redo that part again and again and you'll get plenty of XP.

I probably should have played on hard my first play through, when I was spending so much more time searching for shards and dead drops and what not. I have 14,000 XP left over after purchasing all the good powers and I still have a handful of missions left. On my second play through I don't plan on searching for anything extensively.

Finaly got all the stunts. I throw back a nade to a dude falling from the building. Somehow, his nade blow him and I got the stunt. Lucky me.

I beat the game on evil, difficult and I just notice something in the mission before the final fight:

I you choose to re activate the metasphere, you gain dark storm and 5 more battery unites. Plus, my karma was lock into Infamous.
I wonder how it works when you a good guy ?

And by the way, how do I get that " kill 25 ennemies while on a moving train " thing ?

UnluckyKate said:

Easiest way is on the "El Train" side missions; just stand on the train, kill anyone who comes in your way, and then suicide so you respawn at an earlier checkpoint. Rinse and repeat.

Valkyr Junkie said:
It absolutely does. Not to mention the trophy specifically mentions "rails" in the description and not "powerlines," but I guess they still work too.

It works. That's how I got mine.

UnluckyKate said:

You don't get anything as a good guy. No new visual effects, no new powers, no battery cores. Kinda sucks. If you play as good you look the same all the way throughout the game.

Somethings not right here.
I've destroyed all the anti-aircraft guns except the last one but my Lightning Storm attack just will not work on the last gun. It shows the animation but no lightning strikes. It's really annoying. I move away from the gun and it works I aim at the gun and nothing.

Edit:
I had to wait until it killed John. After I respawned it worked. That was an annoying glitch.
