inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Step away for a bit maybe. The large bulk of the shards I missed right up until the end were in the Neon, there's a ton of 'em there and a good number in out of the way places. Check the coastlines carefully, it's easy to miss the blue dot when it's on/right beside the water so if you L3 and even think for a second you saw a blip but then decided it was just the water go check. Other than that I found a few last ones by searching block by block through the Neon, the only real help the maps I printed gave me was using them to keep rough track of which city blocks I had checked through. Look at the game map and orientate yourself with the printed map then hit all (or at least most) of the buildings in that section while spamming L3 like a fiend.

Don't give up! :D
MY GOOOOOOOOD! I found it!

Unbelieveble! You can't even see it on the map >_<
Puh, done!

WTF killing a foe by throwing his own granade back to him?? *yuck* >_<

Yeah. I was doing a circular rotation from the edge of an island to the center and noticed it when I zoomed around the piers.

As for the throw back grenade stunt, I went to the Warrens. There was a guy there who was in one of the shipping container walls (you can see him from the street). I zapped him twice and repelled his grenade. If you miss the grenade throwback, just kill him and leave the neighborhood and wait for him to respawn.

I chose this guy because he's in an enclosed area.

I'm having problems with "the stick a guy with a grenade while he's in midair" stunt. It's difficult with Evil Cole.

god I just had the most amazing session in this game. i did a bunch of missions and everything just worked: headshots, nade sticks, doing combos with all the skills, ... in between that i did some rooftop electric ballet: grind off a rail, ground stomp, shockwave and a final headshot in the air.

i'm playing on hard now and i'm having even more fun than the first time around. plus, i get to explore the Hero powers, which i like more than Evil tbh. shockwave slowmo and power regeneration are really useful. i had to recharge all the time on evil, now that's reduced a great deal.
so far hard doesn't feel very different from medium.

the game really doesn't give you that many powers and abilities, but it's so much fun to master and combine them. it's a big part of why i find the game so addictive. the perfect controls make sure the combat never gets old.

I'm sure it's already been asked dozens of times, but is there any checklist or anything for the shards? Can I at least see how many I have per island?

are we asking too much from our superhero games? Spiderman has what, 4 or 5 abilities? Superman has the breath, eyes, flying, invulnerability, speed, strength (if you count innate abilities as abilities). Wolverine has claws, combos, and healing. Really now, I think Infamous has a great amount of abilities for Cole, I don't even use 2 of them much [charge shot and polarity wall] (not counting Gigawatt blades as they never released them for non preorder ppl booooo). Although on the flip side evil had me using arc lightning a LOT as well as polarity wall to recharge. But I totally agree they did a great job of making combining his abilities really fun.

Spider-Man's games have dozens of abilities (see Spider-Man: Web of Shadows), Wolverine had a lot, and Superman just sucked. It's a staple of the genre at this point to be flooded with abilities. See: Prototype, both Hulk games, Wolverine, Spider-Man, etc.

The fact that you don't use all of Cole's can be taken as an indication that they're just poorly executed/unnecessary given the gameplay. It's not a good sign. I know as Good Cole, I stuck to grenades and regular lightning in general and the hammer and precision abilities for long-range. Certainly something that can be improved for Infamous 2. Thematically Cole did just earn his superpowers a couple weeks ago, so it's hard to expect much I suppose.

yeah he's just starting out! But i didn't use a lot because I had so much fun with the ones I did use. Shockwave + hammers + lightning storms. With a few grenades on weaker ppl to restrain them. Combining with a few melee combos here and there. And a precision on a farther away sniper. I couldn't be bothered using the shield much as I found rolling worked well enough and regular lightning would recharge good Cole anyways. As for the charged shot, they could have made that one a little better. The evil one was just ridiculously awesome when waving that laser thing across a crowd of enemies.

They needed more end missions like Titanic and Street Fight. Really makes you feel like a badass and shows off the fighting engine.

nope just the total amount you have. go to save game and keep the cursor on your game save and as long as it's a current save you will see how many shard you have.

just do like i'm doing. check each island block by block, building by building and then do a sweep around the outside of the island, after that do a run on the rails just to be safe. I've done that for the first 2 islands and now i've just got 5 shards to go on the 3rd island and I know that they are there.

one fun thing to do as evil Cole is grind the train rails with the charge ability. Then you can pretty much throw infinite grenades all across the city for maximum carnage :lol

I'm midway through the Warren and I'm really, really liking the game. The only problem I see now is the repetitious nature of the missions. The combat is extremely fun though, and I never tire of either scripted or random skirmishes.

Easily a top 3 PS3 exclusive for me at this point...

YES, 350. After hours of running and floating around, I finally found the last shard. It was located high up on a railroad beam in central Warren. Not well hidden you'd say, but if you rely on bashing L3, it was almost impossible to see. The blue icon was almost invisible because it was located in the water and surrounded by lightning icons on the map. If you have a couple shards left and checked all the obvious spots, try this location:

The last boss was quite hard on hard mode....

did you play good or evil on hard mode? also someone was saying to just
use polarity shield against his lightning so you recharge fast
:P

All I did was
roll away from the main lightning attack and hover over the earthquakes, then hit him with the Megawatt Hammer when he rested
. Same strategy worked fine on normal/good and hard/evil.

I was evil/infamous.

Though I've read that being good makes the game much easier. Thanks to those regenerate powers.

I'm dying for Infamous 2 now. :(

I only have one trophy left to get in this game and it is the one for buying all of the good powers, I left this one for last because after beating the game the first time I did everything and was left with nothing to gain experience. This one trophy alone may stop me from getting a platinum because there is no experience to be gained, I get 10 per enemy when I can even find them and maybe a little more if I do a stunt or two with them. I need 9000ish experience....is there any easy way of getting experience that I may not know about?

Oh I WILL find you.....Might be printing out the shard maps tonite...
That's exactly what I'm going to do, I'm at 348 too and I just finished going block by block on each island and then around the coastline, bashing L3 until it hurt.

Ok so if you take over the entire city you can't bring the bad guys back? cause I don't see any.

Once you complete the game, it seems like even cities you've taken over completely will have a fair amount of enemies. In the Warren for example, the Dustmen and Reapers were constantly going to battle against each other.

Got my Platinum too. I didn't exactly notice a lot of difference between medium and hard for the entire playtrough. Only the final boss was a bit harder.

The final boss seems to have more life, but that's about it. The game wasn't that much harder on hard I agree.

On the last story mission of the game, but I can't seem to trigger the last two hidden side missions around the southern tip of the Historic district (Ray Sphere ground zero)

From what I gather they're two hidden package missions and no matter what I try I can't trigger them. No enemy activity at all, no matter how many times I leave the island and come back or reload my last save, there's just nothing happening.

I'm thinking they'll activate after I finish the story mode, but just wanted to make sure.

There's nothing there. Once you finish the game and return to the world, those sections will be filled in.

Assuming we're talking about the same territory, the last story mode is the hidden mission for that area.

I think it's only that mission that counts towards the district percentage. There might well be a small sliver left (The southern most tip of the Historic District) when you're done though, and that's definitely a hidden package mission. I activated that before completing the story on one run-through and after on the other.

Trevelyon said:
Oh......... really, huh.

Do all the story based missions contribute to territory take over in this game. I honestly can't remember.

No. Only side missions.

Good thing I checked in the end.

Would've probably drove myself up the wall trying to find hidden missions that weren't there, since 99% of territory take over is based on side mission completion.

Put me in the club of getting all the shards! :D

Just gotta finish my evil hard run (next mission is to
defend the jail from people trying to get Alden out
), then I'm well on my way to getting that platinum. I guess the only side ones I need to get are the Casey Jones one and the one where you kill enemies with water (I'm not sure if this means toss them in water in general or kill them with electricity while they're in it), I'll be ok though.

Woo!

Is there a trick to doing the side-mission to take over the territory in the very top of The Warren?
The territory is in the area of the dead drop (yellow dot) at the very top of the map in The Warren.
http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/file/infamous_map.gif

No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to find the side-mission in that area. :/
Sorry if this post is confusing. D:

Is it that area where the blast took place? if so
You have to beat the game

If its not maybe it its a package mission?the link you posted does now work as well.

If anyone is having a hard time doing that mission where you have to
take out the guns on top of the buildings
(near the end of the game) on hard I know an easy way to beat it. Just walk around the streets and get next to the buildings. Then use the attack where you make lightning drop from the sky. That mission took me maybe a minute tops :lol

349 / 350 shards.....

I printed out the shard map, and im going island by island until i get it. :lol

Ive gone through 2 of the islands, so it has to be in Warren....Oh i WILL find u....

Bast?
Well, I've finished the game.
I thought it'd be a package mission, but none of the enemies I kill in the area let me start a side-mission. :/

Ok restart the game, sometimes missions does not pop up until you restart it.

That's in the Warren, it's not Ground Zero (Suggested above, which is in the Historic District) so there's no need to complete the game. I'm pretty sure that's another hidden package mission, just kill all of the enemies in the area until one becomes a mission marker.
