inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I finally got my last stunt (Air Sticky Bomb) after trying on and off for several days and I just found out that I never received the trophy for Evil Exposure and I'm too far ahead in the game to go back and get it (that is the one where you choose which poster represents you, right?) Oh well I guess I'll have to do a third run through until I get that trophy :lol

I still need to clear 2 areas in the District but I cannot see any yellow markers. I have walked through both areas and no missions appear. How do I complete these areas? They are both at the north end of the island near the bridge that gets destroyed.

which District? The last one?

You clear them when you beat the game.

It must be a package mission than, kill some enemies is until it appears on one of them.

Or you can try restarting sometimes missions dont pop up for some reason.

OMG I FOUND IT!

It's the one on top of the tallest building by ground zero. It doesn't appear on radar until you get to a certain height.

Platinum!

Welp, I'm down to about 4K exp left to earn before I can buy the last evil upgrade, still have some unclaimed territory in the Warren, this'll be fun to get. D:

If you have any terrorized streets missions left in the Warren, those tend to be pretty good for farming XP. Just kill everything except the armored bus. I think that's how I got my last ~5k XP.

The music is great yes but the use of them are really random.

This - when something plays it sounds pretty great, and the end credits are downright awesome, but I couldn't make out a pattern for when the game decides to play its music during regular gameplay. It was confusing to the point where I thought something might be broken with the game or my setup.

As to XP grinding: a really good mission for that was the "Mobile Poison" one in Neon district where you need to destroy a single tar truck. Just follow that thing as it makes its rounds but don't destroy it. On its rounds it summons constant waves of enemies. The good thing about the truck is that it doesn't shoot back, so there are no annoying turrets to worry about. I got the 5000 exp I needed for my evil upgrade trophy in a much shorter time than I had hoped originally. Just remember to turn the game to Easy (unless you're on the hard trophy playthrough of course) for more XP.

The music in inFAMOUS works perfectly. It doesn't have a looping, overbearing piece that overtakes the environment. It comes in at times when you have heightened tension, leaving the rest of the game for you to explore and experience the environmental sounds.

The use of the tribal drums and beats in general is fantastic and really helps with the sense of urgency. I think SuckerPunch did an awesome job by making the music a part of the game instead of being an overlay. It is welcome when it makes an appearance and the underground sequences do better when all you hear is water dripping in the darkness.

Hard for me to put into words, but every time I pick up this game to play (still going through the good side, I've been taking my time what with life and vacations getting in the way) the experience just drags me back in. Taking up the better part of my day reading up on the game, re-reading the developers interviews and watching the interviews.

arg, I took some more evil karma this morning (I have to stop doing story missions in the morning......)

I picked up Prototype on the very cheap, so I think I will finish the story mode, play Prototype and then go back to infamous to be anal and get all shards, recordings, play evil, ect..

I think I am near the end
Destroyed the 3 jamming dishes so we could track the Ray-Sphere. Just hit day 21

Protoype is just asking me to open it and play...... :D

Could not agree more. In total I'd say getting the platinum took me 6-7 hours of extra effort and that was only because I did not know any better the first playthrough. I could have easily knocked off at least 3 hours of extra play on my first Good/Hard game had I known to not upgrade the first skill last, and also not knowing to turn the difficulty from hard to normal meant it took a lot longer to get the XP i needed. Finding all the shards took a bit of time but honestly it wasn't nearly as bad as collecting random crap in other games, the radar meant you could at least do it without having to hold a printed map in front of you the whole time.

The difficulty was I have to say pretty forgiving too, Hard made the game a bit more challenging but rarely frustrating, unlike say COD where I would rather die than have to play through it on Veteran because it's so bloody annoyingly hard. inFamous really hit the sweet spot with the trophies, making them fun and rewarding - no one is getting the platinum who didn't set out to get it and spend at least a bit of effort for it - yet not so time consuming that you can't imagine grinding them out if you don't have endless hours of free time like you used to.

Wait, so playing on Hard means you gain less XP?

Also, why would you upgrade the first skill last?

I only ask because I might be getting this soon and I'd like some pro tips regarding any trophy pitfalls.

Yes hard mode does give you less xp. (and maybe a little less life)

as for the skills, depends on you. The first skill last upgrade for the good side is awesome.
Recharge energy by shooting dudes ftw.

Meh, I want to start a evil hard playthrough to get my plat. How should I handle that XP thingie? Grind in a mission? Which one? Die and repeat? Help me, Gaf. FFO?

Go to the backout areas you get a ton if XP.

Yeah but that's still hard to do I guess. There are missions where you have unlimited power and you are killing like there is no tomorrow. You should get XP in those missions pretty fast if you do them over and over again?

there's a late mission on the 3rd island where you can grind for XP:

the part where you get lightning storm and have to charge and defend the 3 generatrors, on the 3rd generator, let it get to 75% and then let yourself die or step out of bounds. it'll start you back on the 3rd generator, repeat. on hard, you get about 500xp each time

I don't know why you guys had to grind or farm xp on hard... I only played the Good sidequests to get those powers and after the credits I had just the right amount to buy the final upgrade I needed. I even bought the 3 armor upgrades. You don't have to waste points on melee, thunder drop or the energy absorption abilities

A little late for that unfortunately.

I enjoyed the hell out of this game (Hero) and just loaned it to a friend to spread the wealth. I started playing Prototype, which I like as well, but the games couldn't play any more differently. Infamous is a 3rd person shooter with platforming and ever evolving special moves. Prototype is kinda a clusterfuck of over-indulgence and plays like the Spider-Man movie games. Both are enjoyable to me, just really different experiences.

No loans allowed!

On the mission on Historic District where you have to power up the three generators and you get
Lightning Storm
, on the last generator, kill all the enemies waves as they come in until you get to 75% powered up, make sure you keep at least one enemy alive on the final wave and kill yourself... you'll restart on the same generator at 0% powered up. Repeat and you get a ton of XP this way.

Ok a quick question I beat the game already and made every "good"decision, but I am not 100% good how do I become 100% good? or am I fucked

You mean maxing out the karma meter (good portion of it) in the upper left corner? Just keep reviving random people.

Excellent game. My only real complaint is that there's no stat tracking. How many Reapers did I take down with headshots? How many 'Unstoppables' did I get? How many civilians did I heal and how many suffered collateral damage from my fighting? How many miles did I travel on foot, grinding rails and traveling through the air etc. etc. etc. Still and all a fantastic ride and I'm really looking forward to a sequel
or "future" prequel

Hey I never got the Titanic Beatdown mission and I finished all the Historic side missions!!

Once I beat the storymode I put the difficulty on easy to farm more XP. I wonder if that is why I didn't get it.

Got this game today for €35 from dvd.co.uk, and I loved the demo so I intend to play it both ways and Platinum it. Can anybody give me the essential points to know in order to achieve that in only two playthroughs? I mean shards, XP, upgrades, karma... I gathered I should play bad then good, but other than that... Thanks!
