Anyone know a good place for the 4-in-a-row Rails stunt? I can get 3, and then fail hard.

Also, Black Lightning...:D
Train tracks. Might take a few tries, but it works.

Just grind the railroad tracks and jump back and forth.....easy peesy. :D

I found that the secret was to jump from the inner to the next rail inner at the beginning of an apex when the rail turns on a curve. Then you just hop to the next one after it straightens out.

If you try and jump while in the curve, you will overshoot it. Hard to describe, but once you get the feel of how the jump distance is, and where to do it as the rail turns into a curve, you'll have it in no time.

tldr;
Always jump on the related rails in a straight, only jump from the inner to the other inner near the beginning of a curve.

Just about done with my initial Good playthrough. My favorite missions thus far are:

Street Fight

and

Power up the three substations in the Historic district after you get the uber electric storm power

I have to say, returning to ground zero and doing parkour in and around the historic district, has really kept this game cohesive for me. Suckerpunch! nailed the open world, yet have plenty to do, including backtracking without feeling repetitious game play down pat. It is eerie to check out vantage points of the city from up high and just think back through the days in the game as you leveled up trying to make sense of it all. Kudos to Suckerpunch! for putting a meta-story in the game through dead drops. I eat this kind of game-play/story driven elements up!

Not sure what they could do for an inFAMOUS 2, but it would be a day one purchase without question.

Just finished climbing the big building in the second area for the dead drop. Man was that fun!

Edit: Just did the drop achievement. Unfortunantely there were 7 civs in the way. Damn did my karma gauge take a hit. :lol The worst part is that I am playing on hard, I am sure it's going to take a while to get it back.

The first 10 playable minutes of this game are attrociously bad.

I'm probably 30% of the way through, and really liking the game. But that was a terrible first impression.

By the time you get to 60% you will be addicted. Its funny that you have to play the game a while for it to "click"

Completely disagree. What was bad about the first 10 minutes?
It hobbles you totally unneccessarily. The first thing I asked myself when I started the game was "how do the controls work?" The answer? They don't. No buttons work until they tell you what they do.

Character movement is incredably limited and frustratingly slow, not to mention your character is ugly as sin. They also abused the smoke effect until there were huge frame rate drops.

Fortunately, the game has steadily improved from there. I've just hit hero rank and I'm loving it.

that's pretty stupid

NO DON'T LEARN ON YOUR OWN, IT'S NOT ALOUD

FUCK! I am one shard short on first island I am pretty sure. I wish they had shard tracking trophies for each island. Now I don't know whether I am one shard short or not because I got to the second island and began collecting shards like an idiot.

How so if I may ask? Cole moves fairly fast. Not sure what you mean by limited movement.

I can understand the annoyance at the controls being limited til they tell you what to do, I usually like figuring them out myself.
EDIT: oops, didn't see that you were referring to the firs ten minutes thing, sorry. :lol Thats what I get for jumping into conversations.

Makes more sense now. :D

God this evil play through is so much fun. Recieving missions of
Sasha
, especially when your bouncing across rooftops with friendly
Reaper Conduits
is sooo cool. Watching them teleport makes me jealous...

Weird, I got all the shards/dead drops in my good playthrough but have this uncontrolable urge to get them all again :lol Damn you SuckerPunch

Well, getting the shards until you max out your electricity gauge is still a good idea on a second playthrough.

Does anyone know if you need XP to purchase the Good/Evil Side Mission powers?

If I don't, I won't bother farming XP for when I eventually work through my side missions and just spend them on beefing up my non-alignment powers.

whats the best way to go through the game if i am probably only going to complete it once....good or evil?

I think they meant for you to play this game as a good guy. The whole evil thing seems only 1/2 realized in that it doesn't really affect most of the main story at all. Its the extra stuff they tacked on that makes it still fun if you really enjoy playing this game.

I think I remember where the last shard is! It was above the drop for the first boss, I believe I remember not getting the jump right. Is that tunnel still accessable or am I screwed? If I can still get it, where is it located, I can't remember.

Depends on what you like in your powers. Evil is pure chaos and you'll generally cause more mayhem with those (grenades spawning more grenades etc). I like the good powers more though, if only for the slow-mo shockwave. It's a joy to see your enemies float in the air while you pick them off with a headshot or well placed grenade. Oh and you regain electricity as you hit enemies with the normal shock. You'll have to juice up less often because of this.

I find the game more fun on the good side. Plus, the story and the choices you have to make seemed to make more sense on that side.

I dont remember seeing one in there.

Anyways, I just loaded up my game since I happened to be saved right there, there isn't any way to open that door again. Pulling the lever in the tower doesn't do anything.

Despite showing up on your radar, I can assure you that the shard is above ground, and not in the tunnels.

Well shit. I went over the entire first island with a shard map and found 6 shards out of the 7 I had left. Uuuugghhhh....

Yes. Pure carnage wrapped in awesome-sauce. Is that a one-off mission, or are there more side missions of that type? I just reached the third island, but I started over, so I'm hoping so.

Major props to loudninja for calling the last shard I was missing from first island.

Any tips for splash and crash. I seem to be having some trouble getting this one.

Had a funny glitch happen to me while I was restraining some dustmen.

So I'm not completing missions to unlock the ability to purchase said upgrades.

Right?
It's more like you need to complete a certain amount of the good (The greenish blue extra mission)/ evil (The red extra mission). If the powers require 5 of good, you complete 5 and purchase it. It is not spent, it's more of a requirement, so when you go for the 10 completed good you only need to complete 5 more.

Ugh I have that stunt and one more after it. Beat the game on Good and got all shards. Just this stunt is pissing me off, and now there are hardly any enemies left.

That sounds pretty awesome. I have to finish my infamous run on the game.

I'm just about to start my Hard playthrough. What am I suppose to do, change it to hard as soon as I'm able to pause? How can I confirm that this will count towards the trophy?

I got this game yesterday and am really digging it so far. About the hard trophy, I didn't change the difficulty till 1 minute into the game (during the beginning) and haven't changed it since. Am I still good for the trophy?

I agree that the 1st 10 mins are atrocious. The animations are horrible and the production value looks no high than a spiderman/hulk game. Everything about the 1st 10 mins was just bootleg. I really didnt enjoy it at all (1st 10 mins that is). I actually quit and went back to playing KZ2 and then went back to it later.

I hate how a lot of stuff in this game looks very polished but then other things look jarringly bad. Some of the animations are horrible (the "climbing up the pole" animation is really bad). The in-game cutscenes are bad. Then you have animations like the gliding animation that looks really good. And the way he leans forward a little bit while on the train...to keep his balance...that's pretty awesome. The comic book style cutscenes are really good.

Its just a mixed bag type of game. (in terms of polish) Seems like it could have used a few more months and we would have gotten that locked 30 fps and had all the bootleg stuff ironed out.

Probably because you enjoy the spiderman/hulk games lol.

But seriously, that limping animation at the beginning of the game was just bad. It didnt fit.

yea i agree with this too, just picked this up for $30! and yea i saved at the part where you gotta climb up some tower for the food, i saved the game, then i load up and i had to watch that fucking cinematic again and the beginning was a little fucked and im a little pissed the powers are still unlocked but its looking like a solid game so far.

I'd really like to know who it was at Sucker Punch that decided to throw in a single stealth side mission into the game.

"You know what this game needs? A poorly executed stealth mission with a timer and an enemy that is hyper-sensitive to your location!"

So I'm 10 seconds away from losing this guy and then I move up and he spots me?

FUCK YOU
