I thought the general and almost overwhelming consensus was that the ending was great?
Every guy I know who played the game loved the ending and I think it's one of the best storylines a videogame ever had. It's an awesome start for a great story-arc.
Someone who says "The story is overwhelming and/or bad" is a flamer and trash-talker
or plain and simple stupid. Yes, that's how "ignorant" I am
in my eyes... and nothing more!
Sorry

Well this is good to hear. I stand corrected :lol

More games need bleak/not-so-happy endings.

Killzone 2 also has a (really) bleak ending, and so does Resistance 2. Maybe it's a new Sony first party trend we're seeing?

I've still yet to finish Killzones Story and I've had it since launch. Is it worth it?
My 360's dead too, so I won't get distracted this time.

Yeah, awesome ending. IMO like inFamous, it sets you up for the sequel in a big way that doesn't cheapen the experience with a more empty cliffhanger that we've seen in some recent games.

Yeah, well, I have like 80% of the side missions left to do. Guess I'll follow your advice and see if I find a good one to earn EXP. Still going to be very tedious, though. :I
If you already got the trophy for beating it on Hard then you can just change your difficulty to the easiest one so you get more XP.

I just finished the prison escape mission near the end of the second district. That part was awesome, having all those places for unlimited electricity was very fun.

The game is going much faster with the highest ranking of the lightning bolt. I still think this game has the most unlikeable characters in a setting though :/.

Halfway through the 2nd island and getting a bit bored to be honest... just fought my first golem.

I guess bored isn't the right word -- I am feeling the effects of the repetitiveness is more accurate.
About to go meet John though, should be interesting..

Alright now it's time to rant for a bit. This game is really starting to piss me off with all of the bugs in it. I know it's a sandbox game, but there's been endless amounts of clipping. It's gotten to the point where I'll be sitting right on top of a core and it won't register that I got it.

I've also had two very annoying bugs. One when doing the looong Trish escort mission where you stand on top of the bus. When at the second part of rescuing Trish, I died and the game went to just a black screen and I had to restart the PS3. Forced me to do that whole boring mission over again. The second bug I just had I actually fell through the world. All of a sudden he started walking funny and the pavement was like quicksand, then he completely fell through the world and was falling. Even though I was RIGHT at the mission point with a clinic near it, it restarted me at the clinic on the opposite side of the district. Screw that.

Is there no easy way to get around aside from going on the train or train tracks? Why can't you fast travel between clinics or something (unless I'm missing this)?

Unfortunately I think I'm just getting a little tired of the game. The new powers are great when you them, but it drones on too much between them. And how many side missions do I have to do of taking out the stupid buses again?

Okay, similar question as before... can I go back to the Warren once I'm in the Historic District? Was at 97% -- thought it might unlock the final one once I beat my main mission but obviously no such luck. I guess it must be a hidden package district.

Yes. You can even go back after beating the game so no worries.

I've cleared islands 1 and 2. Currently around 90% in the historic district. After I get 100% on each island I'll go all out for the shards. Good to hear that I can continue on after the story has ended.

I wasn't really that hot on the game when I first started playing, but it's a grower. I spent around 4 hours yesterday just looking for shards. I'm not usually one for fetch quests or grinding, but for some reason I really enjoyed it. Definitely looking towards getting the Platinum trophy.

Beat the game this afternoon.
Had a feeling that may be the twist or that Kessler was her or your dad or something. Was surprised I didn't have to fight Zeke though... they seemed to kind of brush over that storyline. Nice job setting up a sequel.

I really like the pacing of this game, it really suits me after a good 12 hours. I'm about to do the last mission in the Neon, which I've completed 100% except for that last shard I need
the thrusters for
, and that comes just as I was wanting a change of scenery :D I had planned to leave the stunts for my Good/Hard playthrough, but I'm now up to 16, stuck on 'Right back at ya' and unsure of which ones are left :lol

You're in for a world of hurt if you're going for the stunts :) Especially right back at ya is a pain in the ass on a grand scale. Frankly, that trophy was the hardest one in the game by far.

Is it wrong that I like it then? I mean, the harder it is to get (to a certain degree), the higher the satisfaction... At least I know I'm on the right track to get it, I just wish I had written down which ones I already did, now I'm stuck until I pull this one off. But I did find some strategies to do it in the Neon, including one during the mission I'll tackle tonight, so I'm cautiously optimistic :D

isn't right back at you the one where you deflect a rocket or grenade back at an enemy? Didn't find that one hard. I'm stuck on knocking 3 enemies off of a building at once.

If you search online, there are some places that list all the stunts and give you hints on how to do them. When I got stuck on a stunt, I decided to look up the list so I could do other stunts that were waiting in the queue.

It's the one. I'm not saying it's hard, I just didn't get the occasion to pull it off yet. As for yours, 'Have A Nice Fall', the Dark Water side missions are your best bet. If you're past that, there's a video on Youtube that involves Zeke's Rootop and Reapers...

Thanks, I looked at those too, but I could never find one that had them in order, if there is such a thing. For instance, I've completed 16 stunts, but the game tells me 'Right Back At Ya' is #16 of 21, so it means I've already done a stunt between #17 and 21. Yet the numbered lists I found contradict this logic. Can you help?

yah the pacing for the game is perfect even better on the second playthrough as the opposite karma from the first playthrough. I loved the fact that the platinum trophy was hard to get but not ridiculous amount of time and random stuff that you had to hope for happen (maybe a little on the stunts but they weren't bad). Like I was saying the 2nd time is alot easier knowing that your going for that platinum trophy and that you don't need to do side quests. Also I would of suggest easy or normal/with good then evil/hard, won't bother going to indepth with that as that would spoil stuff. Yeah but I recently got my ps3 like 4 months ago and I <3 this game my first platinum too. I'm working on my resident evil 5 platinum trophy, and 6 + playthroughs is looking bad :(.

find a group of enemies with a rocket launcher, kill everyone but him, then just stay focused on him and reflect every time he fires a rocket. I'll look for that youtube video, thanks.

Pretty sure there's no order, it's based on the order you do it.

Hmph that sounds weird all I can say was when I played through it whatever stunt was next on my list I just did. Right back at ya took my a long time, I found that all the enemies usually have grenade so basically you gotta fish it out of them if you miss then just kill them because im pretty sure they don't throw 2 grenades. Also try to shoot enemy once or twice to ensure the grenade will kill him...and 2nd level of shockwave will help(i tried for like 2 hours on level 1 shockwave did not help lol).

I got 17 of the 21 stunts in just my normal playthrough.. is there a way to see which ones you're missing? I doubt I'll make much of an effort to get the final ones but if they're not too bad I might give it a shot.

levious said:

My (admittedly rusty) maths says otherwise, based on the situation I described earlier. If I've done 16 stunts, then the next one would be #17, not #16... I guess we'll never know.

Here is the one I used:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225787

It doesn't have an order though. The cool thing is, you can redo a stunt and it'll let you know that you've done it. Then you can just check it off the list of ones you've done, and you'll eventually figure out what you need to accomplish.

Im trying to remember the last few stunts I had to get (I did them in order as they showed up on start menu)...

try these

Whack a mole - Kill a conduit using a thunder drop (basically go to the 2nd island and find the conduit with the garbage spiders and rockets hes the easiest to do it with.)

Up Close And Personal - Kill 5 enemies within 25 or 30 seconds I don't remember too well. (Basically what you want to do again is look for those garbage spiders usually 3 spawn get them to follow you, find random enemies...kill the spiders 1 hit, then finish off the normal enemies.)

Crowd control - kill 5 enemies at the same time (pretty easy once again go to 2nd island go to the yard with all the ship containers and inside there about 5+ garbage spiders will spawn throw a sticky easy.)

This is what I remember from my play through its been like 3 months :P. Hopefully I helped.

Looking at those lists, here are the ones I think I haven't done yet... Except there are 6 and not 5 :lol

* Melee Finisher - Kill an enemy with the last hit of 5 hit melee combo.

* Flying Head Shot - Aim carefully, and take out an airborne enemy with a headshot.

* Right Back At Ya - Use the Shockwave move to deflect a thrown grenade back at the enemy who threw it.

* Suspended Sentence - Kill an airborne enemy with the Thunderstorm move.

* Up Close And Personal - Kill 5 Enemies back to back with just the melee.

* Crowd Control - Kill 5 Enemies at once.

you should've gotten most of these on one mission
Vengeance, use the lighting for the last 3 you're missing
. The 2nd one is easy if you're playing as good, first one is easy on the
last island
, and 3rd one is attainable in the
compound in the 2nd island

I've just started this and I have to say I'm very impressed. It's much more fun than the videos made it seem, as it always looked to be less exciting than the stuff I'd done previously in Crackdown.

The most impressive thing for me is how well the experience flows. It stems from the little touches such as the game loading straight up and throwing you into the action every time, to more refined features such as the checkpoint system. It's very nice not to have to go back ten minutes every time I make a mistake, and the lack of loading times between each failing and retrying the mission adds to this.

I have to see I felt a tad too vulnerable at first, I was dying lots and it seemed a bit out of place for a superhero game, but as I'm leveling up it seems like the combat is more fair and I'm able to have some pretty epic battles. That said, I am playing on Easy now after Normal was resulting in too many deaths as sometimes it's nice to hop between the buildings without a torrent of bullets killing me.

Other than that, the story has me hooked at the moment and is developing quite nicely, even though I'm a mere 15% through the game. I love the art style in the cutscenes and the interaction with NPCs is done really well; mainly thanks to the great voice acting. The variety of missions is also inpsiring me to go beyond the main storyline and do some of the sidequests -- tracking the delivery guys and hunting out the surveillance on the side of buildings being my personal favourites.

Wow that was incredibly positive. I actually can't think of a single thing that is even remotely bugging me at the moment. I suppose the moral system is a bit simple (I'm playing pure good, for the record), but that's really a non-issue.

Anyways yah I had to change it to easy my first time around but second time around hard was a piece of cake as evil

I might have just had a bad play through that day. When I started the game up the next day and tried to obtain those same shards, I had no problem at all. The game hasn't really been riddled with bugs for me as my post would lead you to believe. It's just that all of them decided to happen in the same day and made me very frustrated :)

The only thing I wish I did on my first playthrough was to play through the story mission first and worry about the side quests later. Instead I focused on getting 100% in each district before I left for a new one. It made me feel pretty stupid for doing that after getting some of the new powers which would have made it immensely faster.

I'm close to the end, hopefully I'll beat it today.

Everyone keeps talking about how the Dark Water missions are good for the "Have a Nice Fall" stunt. It can easily be pulled off on the first mission of the game. When you come to the Dead Drop guarded by the Reapers (the first time you see them with shields), all four of them clutter to the side of the building if you slowly climb up. Blast a Shockwave and you're done.

I must admit, the evil powers do look a bit more fun. But alas, I'm sure to play through a second time, so it will be a nice change of pace. I'll probably bump up the difficulty too :)

Well, I finished this game about a week ago, and it was an awesome ride. I thought the entire game was really well done, and I greatly enjoyed the ending. My minor complaints would include small stuff like technical glitches and some repetitiveness, but the overall package easily outweighs any issues I had.

I was pretty good with the stunts, and I only had problems with "Right Back at Ya", which I finally got in the Warren climbing the gigantic junk tower. "Have a Nice Fall" was a little tricky, but I actually got it a few times throughout the game. Other than that, the only other tricky stunt was "Splash and Crash", which I only managed to get once. Interestingly, starting my Evil~Hard run, I already have 12 of 21 stunts again without trying, and I'm only at the second substation.

Thankfully, I was never at 349/350 blast shards, combing all islands over and over. I did, however, print out a map when I was at 280 or so to find the rest. I'm actually searching them out once again on my second playthrough, so that I have enough XP in the long run for all the powers.

I'm currently at 39/50 trophies, with most of the remainder being story-related, so this looks to be my first Platinum (and my only retail game that has trophies). Good times.

If your playing evil on your second time through its not really necessary to get that many shards, just whatever is on your way to the mission or easy to get. Due one of the missions handling it for you later on.

Actually, the easiest whack-a-mole is with the conduits in historic district (3rd island). The ones that grow into the large purple thingys. After you've blasted them out of the "large-mode" there is only a thunder drop left to kill them. No need to be alternating shots and drops just to make sure you don't kill them by mistake. Just blast em until they drop to the ground and then thunder drop =)

So I've just finished the Neon chapter of the game (yeah, my girlfriend and I are really blasting through it) and I have a question. We got 100% of the territories and the dead drops, but not all of the blast shards. Will I be able to go back and get them or am I fucked?

You can beat the entire game and STILL go back and get the shards.

I did them on my first playthrough though. I found it easier that way.
