From the article:

"A new regulatory filing from Florida-based firm Infinium Labs has revealed that the company needs to find fresh funding of around $11.5 million if it is to launch its Phantom game service next year as planned."

and

"On top of the $11.5 million needed to actually launch the Phantom and achieve its first 10,000 sales, Infinium also extimates that it's going to require around $10.7 million beyond that to achieve cash flow break even, bringing the firm's total funding needs to $20.2 million."

A new regulatory filing from Florida-based firm Infinium Labs has revealed that the company needs to find fresh funding of around $11.5 million if it is to launch its Phantom game service next year as planned.

The company, which has delayed the launch of the Phantom Game Service and its associated Phantom console until Q2 2005 from its originally planned November 2004 launch, currently has only $20,991 cash on hand.

From HardOCP article about Infinium Labs :
The facts speak for themselves: company closures, bankruptcy, investors losing millions of dollars, and current “Director” positions where the company isn’t even sure he works for them and cannot find his e-mail address or telephone number. Mr. Roberts has been involved with one "successful" business venture in eight years according to his own resume. He followed that one up with several bankrupt and failed businesses. It's been documented by other sources that millions and millions of dollars were "burned through" in the last six years. We think that it's possible that the same fate could very possibly befall Infinium Labs.

Hey Man, I'm the original Infinium fanboy and YOU JUST GOTTA BELIEVE. Xbox2 is Nothing before the might of Phantom in 2k5.

The idea sounded pretty cool, and the system design has come a long way from the prototype they had in the beginning. It seems like everybody is getting some kind of joy from them failing. I wish them luck.

I still have the "I believe" Phantom T-shirt Infinium gave out at E3.

I don't wear it, but think its message inspiring nonetheless.

I do believe. I do.

You heartless bastard.

It's because of the printing of these t-shirts that Infinium is in the red right now.
