Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Lex not being playable would be a huge mistake.

Also, now I'm starting to think Red Hood, Black Manta, Starfire, Spawn will be the first wave of DLC. Assuming they do waves of four again.

Lex isn't Joker

Right at the start of the announce trailer.

I can honestly say I never looked at the little text before the trailers.

iii) People often whine about Joker's inclusion in the Arkham games, but come on, admit it. He was the best part of all 4 of them. By far. Maybe not the first one, but certainly the last 3.

Because he was the central point of all of them minus Arkham Knight and Arkham Knight was a weak ass twist everyone saw coming a mile away. My brother literally said while he was playing it
"is Jason Todd, why are they drawing this out?" and when he was finally revealed "are we supposed to be surprised by this?
. I still say Scarecrow was the best part of Arkham Knight. Everything leads up to the Joker and he's still the Joker so how could he not be the best part of the games minus being Batman?

Joker did nothing but annoy me after a while in AK. Scarecrow was probably the best part of the game for me, or one of them at least.

We'll agree to disagree on that. Scarecrow was pretty cool in Arkham Knight, but it felt like his actions were more interesting than he was. Joker felt like the villain with depth and development in the game, which I guess plays to your point lol. If he's the only one that gets focus, how could he not be the best part? Hahahaha, that's pretty funny.

That's how I feel about the Bat Universe in general, if they're the only ones getting focus then how are others supposed to gain popularity? It's also fueled by my general dislike of the character and his, imo, overrated Rogue's Gallery.

Exactly my issue with him. He's stolen the show in The Dark Knight and Arkham City, and now the show is being forcefully taken from people and given to the Joker instead, regardless of whether he deserves it in that story.

Guess I'm just salty Ra's isn't gonna make it in.

Guess I'm just salty Ra's isn't gonna make it in.

Which is freaking weird, after that line in the debut trailer.

Yeah it might not have been supposed to be taken literally, but when you start talking about emerging from a pit and being reborn in a DC-related property, I think of Ra's.

Ra's feels like a character that NRS might be holding back for Injustice 3. Maybe some proper cosmic stuff with Darkseid in the story, too.

Ughhh @ Injustice 2 mobile needing an internet connection to play. <.<

The offline component was one of the best selling points of the first Injustice mobile game.

ummmmm, Injustice 1 lmao

That's a parallel universe, you might as well talk about Elseworld tales like Red Son if that's the case. Lex has been a hero at times, hell he still believes HE'S the hero of the story, but the vast majority of his stories involve villainy.

I'd say the Arkham games are what started Harley's popularity. She was was really popular even before SS came out. That's just made it worse.

Either way, I honestly can't stand the character now. Used to be a fan.

Even so people always tend to only see the last 2 or so decades while ignoring the 5 that proceeded it.

Oh yeah, Lex is bigger than Harley overall in terms of impact... but her popularity does feel a little suffocating at the moment.

I feel the same with the entire Bat trinity of Batman/Joker/Harley. Joker is getting third billing in a Suicide Squad movie he spent maybe 12 minutes in.

She's more popular right now because of Suicide Squad, but I don't think a year or two of mainstream recognition eclipses the 40 years that Lex Luthor's been a household name.

The last two decades of history are the people who are buying this game. Get your heads out of the sand. This is not a game marketed at Silver Age readers.

If you don't like DC pushing Batfamily, modern DC is not for you. They're going where the popularity and money is. Harley's book is bigger than most. I can't change that, you can't change that, it's accept it or move on.

I think Leto got second billing, and it felt like the character was in it for even less than that. Lmao.

I love Batman characters. I dunno where that anger's coming from.

I'm kind of OK with the Bat overload, but only because Batman is my favourite thing about DC along with GL and TT.

I still completely understand the annoyance. The amount of Bat-people in this game and I1 is hilarious.

I actually want more Batman characters, just not Red Hood.

I agree, I'm fine with Red Hood being excluded however I do think he'll appear and that's okay, too. As for Ra's, I strongly predict he'll either be DLC in some form or at least make an appearance somewhere.

EDIT: after this data mining of the mobile game, anyway we can find the models for Dr. Fate and Joker?

Again, how many LESS people would buy if Catwoman wasn't in over Vixen? Luthor AND Doomsday were just the big bads of the last Superman and Batman movie but where are they? Bane is in, why?

Modern DC is ABSOLUTELY for me because there's SO MUCH MORE put out than Batman stuff. Of the 5 DC Superhero TV shows right now only one is Batman. Popularity and money are in Batman/Joker/Quinn. I buy a comic and it doesn't have Batman's face on it and it's a good story. Why would modern DC NOT be for me just because I don't like Batman? What Batman fan that would get Batman/Robin/Joker/Harley/Ivy would go "I'm not getting it because it doesn't have Bane?". If it was strictly about money they would make a Batman fighter and call it a day but, no, fucking Cheetah is in the game. It's clear they want to put in some lesser knowns to get people more familiar with them but of course you need your heavy hitters and JL characters, namely Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Joker, Harley, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Ivy was highly requested and Scarecrow has people hyped but could be DLC to entice players. You don't need 8 + a skin + what's SURE to be a DLC character in Red Hood.

Lex is still a villain in continuity. That'd be like saying "oh, Superman is a villain because Injustice", no, he's a Hero. IN THIS STORY he's a villain but if you ask someone if he's a Hero or Villain they would say a Hero. If you ask people if Harley is a hero or villain you're going to get a mixed response.

The only Batfamily character I want to see is Batwoman. I'd also be totally happy with her being a Premier Skin as opposed to a unique character. I can take or leave Red Hood. I understand he's popular, but he doesn't appeal to me.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Batwoman is my dream addition for this game even if it's just a Premier Skin.

If you're getting this riled up over Batman inclusions/Lex not in, then yes, I'll continue to think this isn't for you.

Lex had a major role in the popular Superman TAS of the 90s and the popular Justice League of the 2000s. He's pretty much the main antagonist through all the seasons of the latter. Many characters in the game use voices taken from the JL show, so they've already clearly acknowledged that there's a lot of nostalgia for that show. I actually bought the first Injustice because of Justice League and the JL voice actors.

So even if we go back 20 years, Lex is still a big deal.

Lex not being on the roster of this game will never stop being incredibly bizarre and really hurts the game a lot imo

I got the Batman character I wanted (Scarecrow), but I'd appreciate Nightwing or Batgirl coming back, or Huntress and/or Red Hood. Both seem like they'd be cool.

They could just make an entire Injustice spin off game about Batman characters, there's just so many of them haha

I'm getting "riled up" because you're hand-waving away my arguments of there being too much Batman as "DC isn't for you because you don't like Batman". It's dismissive and annoying when there's legitimate points.

Superman is my favorite hero of all time and my second favorite villain of all time is Captain Cold. Why would DC not be for me when I don't need to ingest any Batman media ever? I do because I love Scarecrow and enjoy aspects of Batman media, I just don't like Batman himself.

Edit: Hell I even said Batman was the best part of BvS which is faint praise as I hated the movie.

I'd be so here for her inclusion.

But nooooo. We get Bane and Mr. Freeze.

My favorite Batman villain is Two Face. But in a fighting game, he'd just be a random human who throws coins sometimes or whatever. Kind of boring. Unless they had an entirely different moveset depending on which side he was facing, now that might be kind of crazy interesting.

Bat Mite would be something.

Or go way into deep Batman lore and grab King Tut and make a fighter with sand attacks and mummies and stuff.

Add Terry outside of a skin pls

Or moves that either buffed him or nerfed the enemy.

Command grab where he flips a coin. If heads, he shoots and damages the enemy. If Tails, he reloads his gun instead which buffs his next command grab/ projectile.

Well...he'd probably have a tommy gun. He should probably be able to summon henchmen. Molotov cocktail/flamethrower probably a lock. Though that's all pretty bland.

I think the coin flipping is what'll make him interesting, maybe he could have a trait that allows him to turn the following special attack into a 50/50 high/low grab/melee etc to keep your opponent guessing.

I have no why idea why Bane's in this. Would've bet money on him not making it.
1. A pro wrestler is a standard fighting game archetype. Hopefully he has a new command grab or two.
2. Maybe he actually gets bigger now as he increases his Venom, which would be a cool visual. The tech could've excited NRS.
3. Maybe the people at NRS just really like him as a character.
