Ok, now I'm going to transfer over my kindle books... drm free ones, public service.. Calibre, don't let me down...
 
At least the Lion 10.7.2 update works fine. Can't believe Apple botched this so horribly by rolling everything out at the same time and in the middle of the day instead of midnight (to get all the frenzied early adopters at least).

Is there an iPhoto update incoming, or was iCloud already baked into last month's update?
 
5 hours after 1st trying the update and itunes has nearly finished restoring apps. What a palava. Just waiting for another error to pop up.
 
Okay, got my iPad2 restored finally. Still not able to update to iOS5.

Not even gonna try this with my iPhone before heading out to work this morning.
 
This is a mess, and I've never seen Apple struggle this much with an OS update. I just got home and started my Apple TV update. It estimates 2 hours til completion. :/

Previous updates have taken 5-10 minutes.

Tried more than 10 times now, only one time did the phone reboot (5th try) then the error popped up again... never give up, must keep trying. :/
 
So, just to check, I have backing up to iCloud, does that mean I can't have backups on my Macbook too?
Because personally I would prefer both rather than relying on one out their on the cloud.

because (1) no restore will be necessary when the untethered comes out and (2) I never run my battery down to the point where my phone shuts down. I haven't had that happen in months. Nothing can go wrong, right! :)

Mine has taken 25 minutes. Almost done now. Still much slower than usual.
 
I hover over to the books tab in itunes. And my book folder on pc is shown. I want to click sync, it says:

Are you sure? cause all your ipad songs, tv shows films, will get deleted.


Why are you doing this to me?
 
I thought that even without Match, we would be able to use the 5gb to sync audio. I guess now I really have to pay for Match...
 
Holy crap. Is anyone NOT having update issues with this thing? I'm about to update my iPhone and I was coming in here to ask if there were any noticeable differences between this and the beta. Guess I won't get my answer, haha

I keep getting error code 3194 which according to Apple's website means that I have to update to the latest version of itunes. Which I have :(

Anyone else getting this error?

I've applied every single update that Apple pushed today, with no issues. I haven't ran the recent betas, but this is identical to the GM released a few days ago.

He brah.

I went two days without my phone cause of the backup/restore crap.

I went to bed a bit earlier and drank lots of water to make sure I would get up in time (since I'd need the toilet). No idea if the water helped but I managed to wake up in time.

I didn't have any problems, but I was never in the beta :/ mine has been running 5 all day since 12ish.

Don't know what to say about your Calender problem but not all webpages are Reader enabled.
 
I'm sure any response to this will get lost in the torrent of posts here, but I thought I'd check anyway: have Apple given a reason why photos uploaded to the stream can't be removed individually?

Thanks, I thought it'd be fairly limited, but I've been on a few and none have worked at all. I even tried one which my mate said work on his, no luck...

Tried a backup and restore, but it said they couldn't restore it.

My girl got the same message and I probably had to try restoring it 5 times before I got it to work, I thought I bricked her phone now everything is cool

Why is it asking my for my brother's itune password? why or why or why? it's my ipad. My apps. see the settings where my itunes account is locked onto this computer and ipad. Why are asking my for my brother's password!!!!!!

It asked me to enable location awareness when I installed, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. All of the necessary hardware is in the 3GS isn't it?
 
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted." :/

Edit: Back up now. I really wish I did not have to backup my iPhone each time the update fails. If only it can restart from after the backup process.

Do you have any apps that were copied from his account? Maybe it's confirming for DRM purposes?

One webpage that's Reader enabled I checked is the Playstation Blog, but it didn't work very well at all since it only covered one article out of several for some reason.

Edit: Works better when you click on individual articles but the user comments don't show up in Reader view.

Wait really? This is the #1 reason why I didn't even consider the tethered route. Maybe I will do it. What happens when the untethered jailbreak is released? How does updating it work?

I find that this whole process of determining what's synched over wifi onto your PC and what's backed up in the cloud to be quite confusing. What's the canonical copy of the apps that are going to be installed on my iPhone?

Basically, iTunes sucks.
