Couldn't you just add an e-mail or use an Apple ID so that it uses that instead of your phone number?Nero3000 said:Number is greyed out

Right. I always wished that apple allowed for multitouch when arranging icons, like holding down multiple folders with two or three fingers. It'd make things a bit faster.Auron_Kale said:Pretty much, but as I mentioned, once everything's in folders, it's fairly easy to arrange them once more. So it's just the initial trick that is time consuming so it's faster to organize all of the apps into folders from itunes and then manually move the folders on the phone.

With ios 5, I realized just how much useless crap I downloaded in the "purchased" tab over the years. God, it's like a wasteland of shit. A lot of these are games that I've bought or downloaded and NEVER even launched.Auron_Kale said:Oh how I wished for this too as I was setting up my 4S last Friday night... But, at least it helped kill time while I was waiting to watch Real Steel.![]()
Also, in doing this, I've cleaned house on apps that I never use for the most part.

Yahoo mail in the email app?Auron_Kale said:It definitely does, but I found that in private browsing, it hates mobile Yahoo mail so I had to go back to stock Safari if I wanted to delete spam.
Shame too as I prefer private browsing overall - both in look and simply using it as an option.

Oh, sorry, I meant would yahoo mail work in the regular email app? Then you wouldn't have to worry about it.Auron_Kale said:Yahoo mail mobile site. Won't even load in private browsing and it's damn annoying.

Auron_Kale said:Oh yahoo is already synced to my mail app, but when spam gets past the filter, I usually log into the mobile yahoo site to dispose of it properly.
Regardless, I'm glad for having at least a private browsing option as I found it strange that iOS safari didn't offer it while it's been available in vanilla safari for a while now.
My favorite part is that this thing they're making me keep as a folder also stays open as an app in the taskswitcher. Weird.Leeness said:Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the Newsstand? It's ugly and I don't want it and I can't even hide it in a folder![]()
Agreed.Bboy AJ said:Wtf at putting the close tab button right below the back button.
I only download podcasts through the phone itself, and when I sync up to iTunes I don't want them to transfer from the phone to my computer. After waiting for 60+ podcasts that I had downloaded on my phone to transfer over to my desktop's iTunes, I unchecked the "Sync podcasts" button for the phone settings, deleted all the podcasts from my desktop iTunes since I don't want them there, and then synced my phone again. It deleted all the podcasts off my phone which is no big deal, so I just redownloaded some of them directly to my phone. When I did another test sync to my desktop, it started transferring podcasts from the phone to iTunes again.
Is there some way to make this stop happening?
Are you syncing playlists? If so see if any of your playlists contain podcasts, that may be it. I'm not sure though.Ghostmate said:maybe one of you noble scholars can help out a friend of mine:

Meier said:Yeah.. still not getting any of my plays syncing to my library. My iPhone plays are going up but my library plays aren't. I can't be the only one experiencing this? It's horribly obnoxious.
Correct. Typically when syncing, the audio files will then update the playcount within my iTunes library as well. In this case, that's not happening -- it isn't even recognizing that they've been played (you can see my library shows no files played at all on 10/19 although it's actually been 54).Vyer said:So you mean the itunes library is not getting the play count from your phone?

Good (I guess, sucks for them as well) to know it's affecting Macs too. I posted in the Windows forum but no one from Apple actually looks at those do they? It's just for users to help other users?Vyer said:looks like it's probably just a bug that needs to be squashed. Found this on the Apple forums, so you are not alone:

I am currently wifi syncing right now just to try it out, see what happens.

yea, I experience the same thing. I just assumed the position reset over time. so it is a bug huh?Jasoco said:Does everyone else have the same bug where the split keyboard forgets its "elevation", or location the first time it's called in each app? I keep having to move it up. It remembers to be split, but it forgets where it was EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
It's been that way since the last Beta before the GM. And is still like this on the GM/Final.
If you try to activate email on the iCloud preferences on an iDevice, you'll be prompt to sign up for a free @me.com email account.B!TCH said:Does Apple have a public email service with iCloud? I could've sworn this was mentioned in the keynote but I haven't seen anywhere to sign up for it.
ivedoneyourmom said:Don't think of them so much as folders, but as collections/albums. And Camera Roll/Saved Pictures is an album that holds every picture saved on the system. Pictures are not mutually exclusive to their album, they can be in several and are not duplicates.

Really frustrating. That's a pretty big issue and I hope apple is working on it. Google seems to show quite a few people having the same problem.
I Take it no one has had this problem but me? I can't even get a response on the Apple forums.cackhyena said:So for some reason starting today, my iTunes keeps giving me a message that it's "stopped working" and proceeds to close on it's own. Anyone else having this issue, or know what I can do about it? I'm completely caught up on updates.

I have everything more or less working now but it's pretty shitty that I have to manage two Apple IDs, one for music/apps/etc. and one for iCloud. Why can't they just let you merge or move your purchases over to your iCloud account?
LyleLanley said:Couldn't you have just made an iCloud account with your Apple ID that you use for purchases?

Yes, all the time. It was so annoying that I turned it off.Shurs said:Anyone else getting a ton of password prompts for the iCloud email account when using Apple Mail on their Macs?
I have the password set in my Mail preferences. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

Mine is more than 6 and I still get this.Shurs said:Anyone word yet on how Apple is going to handle iTunes accounts with over 25,000 songs when it comes to iTunes Match?
Is your password 6 characters?
Mine is, and I think that might be what's messing it up.
