I don't really mind, but it wasn't expected. Just when I thought it was ready since the apps finished restoring, it started on music and videos! Oh lordy.

I have a MobileMe family account with a couple unused @me addresses. I lose the ability manage them when I move to iCloud. I think anyone can get one with Lion or iOS 5, but I am not sure. Anyone have any interest in one before I upgrade?
 
I want to enable "Find My Mac", but the silly thing is telling me "Recovery system update required".

Uh, I just installed that update less than an hour ago.

Hmmm got a new computer since I last synced I think... Sync music through Spotify nowadays.

Hadn't thought of that, thanks.

Settings of all apps seem to have been kept though, as well as voice recordings/photo's, so no biggie.

My computer where I normally sync is broken, so I have to go through that too... Not that I expect to lose much. Everything is in the cloud
I hope...
 
WTF. I cancelled my download through iTunes since I got the direct link. When I went to manually install it said it could not be done :(

Now back to try to download it through iTunes.
 
Goddamnit, seems I've lost all my apps since iTunes fucked up (it crashed on the "restoring applications..." prompt). Since I should have a backup on my computer still, how do I restart the restoration process?

EDIT: LOL, nevermind, seems all apps were just moved to the next page.

Try starting the update with "restore".

Default is Banner messages and badges on the icons. Modal is OFF by default. You can customize every app notification behaviour individually if you want.

Option(Alt)+click to be able to select the package you downloaded.

It has chrashed twice for me now at the security backup of the phone.

Did someone already bitch about iCloud not having keychains sync?

Because that's what I came her to bitch about. Shit, i think i much preferred mobile me so far.

I was test-trying iTunes match and it fucking sucks for me as well.

Mine took about 10 min, restoring all my music and videos on the other hand is taking forever....
 
Finally, download complete and backup done (had an error and had to backup again).
It's installing!

edit: Nooooooooo "iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3200)."

had the same... restarted it. unplugged my external HDD. and now its doing the backup. and while it only lasted 2 minutes (and then crashed), current backup time is very long now. guess its working now?
 
Ok i need help with iOS 5 here :

I have my phone synced to a iMac but i can't get to this iMac currently and want to update to os5 anyway. I have my MBP with me but when i connect the phone it says "you can wipe it and sync with this mac" … obviously i DON`t want to wipe it …

so is whats the way to go?

So the birthdays iCal gets are from my contacts. How do I get those to the cloud? iCal shows them as a subscription...
 
Anyone having issues restoring? Why is it even restoring, if I had to do this shit I would have DLed the GM that came out days ago.

Okay iCloud wants me to create a @me.com email address. I already have a me.com account but it won't let me use the existing one, it says it's already taken. Yes, BY ME! Now what?

In other news, it looks like MobileMe-to-iCloud account migration is down.
 
Fuck, it keeps giving me the same error message after doing a back up and trying to install. Says: "The iPhone could not be restored. An internal error occurred."

Anyone else run into this or know a solution?
 
Please let us know if anyone has made the transition using a separate Mobile Me ID and iTunes ID. I keep hearing that there may be issues and I don't want to jump into this without knowing how it is going to look on the other side. I already know that I am going to lose my freaking Yojimbo sync from Mobile Me. I just don't want that compounded due to differing Mobile Me and iTunes email addresses.
