Is this the correct way to do it?Anastacio said:Hmm, what do I do - I have iOS5 Beta 7 on the iPhone 4 and iPad 1, and iTunes Beta on the Mac. Do I do this?
01) Back up everything.
02) Erase iTunes and download the new version.
03) Update the iPhone and iPad to iOS5 through iTunes.
04) Restore from backup on both iPhone and iPad.
?

Then just wait for this to blow over.
Vyer said:If you guys with errors have been doing regular backups/synching, may be try a clean install? I'd restart the phone, restart computer/iTunes, then plug it back in and do a clean restore. You can always resynch your contacts/music etc after the phone is updated.
Of course, if you don't have a backup/synch that's good, I wouldn't recommend it.

LCfiner said:right now, iTunes in the cloud is limited to stuff bought in iTunes. what you see is what you get.
after iTunes match comes out of private beta, you can pay apple 25 bucks a year to match your non-iTunes purchased songs and have those available in the cloud for all your devices.

When that has happened to me, it's been due to an Exchange ActiveSync issue. I deleted the profile, restarted the phone, and added the profile again and all was well. From what I've read, it's due to a corrupt calendar item trying endlessly to sync and failing.Branson said:Guess I'm the only one?
ahh gotcha. Thanks. Will look into match next month.LCfiner said:right now, iTunes in the cloud is limited to stuff bought in iTunes. what you see is what you get.

Mammoth Jones said:My BIGGEST problem with my iPhone is that incoming texts/notifications completely STOP any video I'm watching. So if I'm streaming news video or watching a movie and I get a text, I have no choice but to dismiss the text and manually resume my video.
Does the new "non-intrusive" notifications in iOS5 resolve this issue for video playback?

Any particular error? Maybe restore it to factory and then try restoring it from backup?Sean2 said:I just did that 2 times and it gave me more wonderful error messages
Already did this, same results
Judging by everything I've seen, it should resolve this. The non-intrusive notifications are non-modal, meaning they don't take control/focus away from the app.Mammoth Jones said:My BIGGEST problem with my iPhone is that incoming texts/notifications completely STOP any video I'm watching.
