Dynamite Ringo Matsuri said:Okay, so I've got a question that's always bothered me. Why does iTunes sometimes splinter an album? For example, right now "Relationship of Command" is split into two albums, the first one only contains track 1, while the second album contains tracks 2-13. No matter what I do, I can not seem to merge the album as one, and it transfers to my phone as two albums. If someone can help with this issue I'd greatly appreciate it.
Typically what I do when this happens is this:
- Select every track
- Delete the artist and retype it.
- Delete the album and retype it.
- Delete the album artist (and if it's a compilation, type in Various Artists--but here you'd just leave it blank)
- Make sure "part of a compilation" is either checked / Yes for every track, or unchecked / No for every track.
Normally this is caused by, like, there being a " " that you can't see in some of the track names, or ambiguity in the artist name like "At the Drive-In" versus "At the Drive In".
