Ugh, so I wasted a euro on it :( EDIT: maybe not? http://www.edge-online.com/review/kairo-review/ 7 from edge is a very decent score I think. But yeah controls suck. I will check it out some day.

From other discounted games Spiral is now for 90 cents - I bought it immediately after checking out the "free" version which is like 10 minutes long prologue. Not sure if the fighting system becomes bit more technical (a lot of random tapping that doesn't feel like the player has much input), but the graphics are actually gorgeous, and it's got some high production values so might be good. Shame because it seems like the game got very overlooked by everyone.

Tower of Fortune 2 is also free.
 
Are there any good "screen-recording w/ sound" apps yet? I'm looking to do a hobby/project in regards to iOS gaming.

So far my research has came up to hardware capture devices:
-Elgato Game Capture HD
-Game Capture HD Software
-30 Pin/Lightning Digital AV Adapter

I'm all for getting the above for <200$, but if theres an adequate (preferably HD-wonderous) app that can record gameplay and game audio, that'd be beyond convenient. I'm also considering the iPad Air/Mini Retina to replace my iPad 2, but that depends on how things work out, lol.

On iPad, don't know how to link the url of the hardware I listed.

I've used this app on my Mac/PC to record footage on several occasions, it uses AirPlay.

Has anyone played Shadowrun Returns on iPad? Its 2/5 stars on the app store but its on sale at £5 and I wondered if anyone was able to recommend it. Got an iPad Air the other day so shouldn't have any issues running it, the negative reviews are due to it being buggy though.

Would prefer it on iPad than on Steam as I tend to buy games on Steam then never play them but will hold off if its not a good version.

Oh god. Junk Jack X with the new update got me addicted all over again. This game is digital crack. You just keep digging - just when you think you're done you spot a new spot to explore, or a new thing to do.

The update should actually make it to the OP, it's quite significant - new mobs, new items, finally achievements (though annoyingly some of them I should have got already had they been implemented from the start, grrrr) and lots of fixes and enhancements. My favourite is the easy mode - I know, I'm lame, but that means I can explore and not to worry about getting killed while getting drop from mobs. I just don't have time to be hardcore. Also, getting killed means I don't lose items, which sometimes was really annoying having to rush back to the spot where you got killed. Now I can drop off stuff in the chests and head back for more exploration.

I just wish the drop rate of the rare stuff was slightly higher - I play a lot, yet I really haven't found anything really cool yet, and the portal pieces take forever to find even though I already got to the bottom of the scone world. Also managing like 15 chests full of shite spread out on 2 planets has never been fun.

Either way, I will fail college because of this game.

I am aware that Terraria in some aspects does all this but sometimes better and it's bit tighter gameplay wise, but it's not a pleasure to play on an iPhone and it just didn't grab me in the same way.
 
Hey dudes, I'm apparently going to receive some sort of tablet for Xmas and I need to decide which one to get. I don't want the fam to spend more than $300 (ideally $200), so is the iPad Mini my only option? I see Best Buy has one for $250.

Also, if I get the cheapest iPad Mini model, will I be future proofed enough for a potential fancy official controller add-on if it ever comes? And are there a lot of software issues with these cheapo models? Sorry for all the dummy questions, I'm brand new to this, never had an iProduct or nothing (just an old-ass Android phone) but this is as good a time as any to get ready for the Square and Level 5 games and all the other games my favorite developers of old will be making.
 
Both minis support the upcoming controller, but the older mini does have issues with some of the more memory demanding games. If you can, throw a little of your own money into this purchase, and get the retina mini. It's a big step up from the older model in every way. With the retina screen and fast processor, it's going to be future proof for years to come. The older mini is going to see a drop off in support.
 
Alright, I'm confused. How do I get my saves from Vice City and PvsZ2 to transfer from my iPhone to my new iPad retina mini?

I don't think I could go back to the non-Retina screen at this point. It's absolutely essential as far as I'm concerned.

I've said it before: I was completely blown away by how much I winded up using my iPad for just about everything. This iPad (64GB Air) is my third and they've all more than paid off themselves in how much they get used.

You need to use something like "iTools". You plug your iDevice into your pc/mac and you get into the application's documents folder. Generally the save is kept there and you can copy paste it onto your other iDevice.

Use iFunbox, see the OP's FAQ section. If you're unsure of what files to copy over for the games, just copy the entire App to PC, then copy it back on the new device via the program.

Great update. I think this may be my most played game on iOS or close to it. Played over 1 day and 4 hours game time and it's a game that lasts a minute or two at a time. Amazing.

I purchased the sleigh to support you guys along with the original game purchase and coin doubler previously. Only issue I have is the sleigh doesn't seem to be what I get from the vehicle pickup. I've only gotten it twice since I bought it Thursday. Would like a option to make it appear more in the month of December.

It's a hard thing to get right, especially now with 8 vehicles plus S.A.M., which means the chance of getting the vehicle you want gets harder each time we add a new one. But then giving others less means some of the missions get even harder because you need to do them in certain vehicles. Don't get me started on the "Get two profit birds in a row" achievement :)

I am going to look into this in the future though. We want to expand vehicles without it being a massive hassle.

I can understand the problem for sure. This one being paid and seasonal makes it a special case also. I've never gotten the two profit birds achievement and I've been playing for years. Gave up on that one.

X-Ray Specs are essential for that one...but it still took me a while before there was a Sled and Wave Rider.

That and the free ride will help as well. should it give you a profit bird at the beginning. Plus there's people out there who, while they did buy and enjoy the Sled, I feel that off season they might want to turn it off. Stay tuned! :P
