I would like to give a different view on Sailor's Dream, even if I obviously didn't complete it yet and I promised myself not talking about the game before completing it fearing spoilers.
So far I'm loving it as much as I loved Year Walk and Device 6 (I loved Beat Sneak Bandit too, but it's different).
It is giving me the same feelings and emotions of the other two games....my mind is thinking about the game when driving work or not playing it.
And when I'm actually playing it, I'm totally immersed and the only thing I care about is finding out the story, understanding everything, seeing and experiencing 'where' all that took place in first place.
Playing a Simogo game to me is like visiting an ancient place where something big took place...like visiting the set of a favorite and mysterious movie before you see the movie (I'm not native English so maybe some concepts aren't that clear, sorry for that).
It's stimulating my mind in the very same manner.
It maybe won't have puzzles or platforming sessions, I won't shoot anything nor will my reflexes be at test....but I'm enjoying it the same way.
And to be honest...all this 'lack of puzzles' talk...I dunno....usually in a Simogo game everything is there for a reason.
So I spent a good half an hour touching musical cords, moving planets and such, trying to understand how they fit in the grand scheme (and this was fun even if there wasn't a 3 star screen telling me I 'solved' it)...not to mention writing down the time I was playing because I'm convinced that some parts are different if you visit them at other times.
Not to mention I'll input the coordinate of the various dream to see if there is a meaning....and so on....
All that gets me involved in the 'game', and gives me fun...as much as it did in Device 6 (where I found initially the puzzles just stops in the game flow only to discover how perfectly they explain those in the end) and Year Walk (where the companion app was the best thing in the game).
Just my 2 cents...if you liked previous Simogo games for those same reasons, chances are you will love Sailor's Dream too.
Back dreaming.
