I bought xcom on steam a while ago, but never got around to playing it.XCOM just got an update to include the second wave DLC, might not have specific improvements for the 5S, but general performance on the 5S should be better, and it's a legitimate game obviously.
Yes level 8 is the cap (for now).
The 'real' cap (the boardgame) is 10...I guess we will hit it with the next expansion...when the backstory will be wrapped up I guess.
To level up a character fast...just babysit him till all enemies are down to low HPs...have him strike the killing blow (only chars with the KILL strike earn exp).
The enemy packs are tailored to the medium level of the party...so even one enemy will be enough to level up in the first levels (1-4).
Be aware that, as per game mechanics, you can level up once per dungeon (because you must train in a city to actually level up and 'extra' XP are lost...this is to familiarize to eventual new skills you acquired), so to get from 1 to 8 you must do, at the bare minimum, 8 dungeons (so plenty of loot to dress up your new character).
I'm not commuting right now, so I've dropped off the iOS gaming front somewhat. However, I have an iPhone 5S coming in the next couple of weeks.
Are there any nice games which take advantage of iPhone 5/5S graphics that aren't filled with Free To Play stuff?
Please don't recommend Infinity Blade, Real Racing, or anything Gameloft.
That's why I included the iPhone 5.Very few titles take advantage of the 5s hardware so far, aside from increased framerate.
Which characters did you buy? Did you get them all?
You may have said, but what team do you run with? Can you change your team on a dungeon by dungeon basis?
That's why I included the iPhone 5.
Monster Adventures could best be described as a roguelike RPG with loot, Pokemon-esque monster capturing, and arena battles. Through unexpected circumstances you find that you are a Kindred, able to bind with and command the various Monsters that roam the world. You send your Monster out into the random generated world to gather loot and new monsters and gain experience, all in the pursuit of raising up the ranks in the local arena. Capturing and defeating monsters allow you to change body parts and abilities of your own, from imbuing your monster with elemental skills to different melee and ranged attacks. But die out in the wilderness and you lose all that you've gathered on that run as well as half of the gained experience.
All these systems work together to provide the player with tons of customization and choice of how to develop their Monsters, from a ranged tank to a quick melee type and more. The focus of the game is actually the arena fights, as all the rogue-"lite" roaming is to build you up for these special fights. According to Foursaken, following the story that emerges across these trials will take from 12 to 20 hours and this doesn't count the co-op and PvP multiplayer options. Monster Adventure's colorful cute art style is wonderful and polished as the gameplay and nice
Looks very nice. Been following this on Toucharcade. btw, is like every indie dev a NeoGAF member or what? It's like every other day, I learn of a new developer who's also a GAFferWe are starting our beta test very soon! Want to try out Castaway Paradise and provide is with your feedback? Hey guys, my wife has been playing Kawaii Megu for the past few months and I guess she got a note today upon opening it that they were shutting down the game soon. Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar title? The message didn't mention a new game they're trying to force people to move to so I figured I'd check here.
Anyone have any suggestions? Must be some dudes in this thread who can get input from their wives if nothing else! I was surprised at how many apps she has that I've never heard of. Swackett was one in particular.
Another awesome game is from a GAFfer?! Into The Dead is amazing, thanks for the great game! So, one of our games, Into the Dead...

Great! I was hoping it would get more content. Any new areas to run through? Always thought a farm or foggy marshland would fit well with the aesthetic. You guys sure nailed the atmosphere though, I think that's my favorite aspectThanks.
We have a couple of new updates landing in the next month and a bit including some new content and a new mode - Torchlight Mode - which is pretty self explanatory.
Was GTA Chinatown Wars pulled from the app store? I went looking for it and couldn't find it.
My impressions are in the OP (I like it a lot)Is someone going to bite the bullet and buy Type:Rider? Last week I did everyone a favour by buying The Cave and warning everyone that's pretty much unplayable on ios. I'm a little worried this type rider will be all novelty / crap to play.
Absolutely loving this game. It's an artistic masterpiece, enjoyable platformer with excellent controls and educational all at the same time.
If I only had one minor complaint, it's that there's so much information thrown at you regarding the history of typography that it sometimes feels like it disrupts the flow of the game. I "died" once following a point where I opened the information I unlocked and when I resumed, fell to my death.
I'm starting to think that it may be more enjoyable to go through the different eras and then go back and read more about each of them.
Only played the tutorial so far. Gotta go workout, but loved what I've played so far. Intuitive controls are great, the art style is fantastic and I love how you collect pages throughout the level and can view chunks of history. Gotta feeling this will be game of the week. Also, from what I can see there are about ten levels and each level has around 4 sections.
Played through the tutorial and Gothic levels. This game is fantastic and smooth on my iPad 3. I love the learning element as well as the soundscape.
Forget iOS, forget Android (picked this up on that)...this may very well be one of the greatest games I have ever played on anything. Yes, the LIMBO and NightSky influence is there and Type:Rider does the whole puzzle-platformer thing just as well, if not better than them. All 3 control types are spot on, the physics are perfect, the music is outstanding, the backdrops are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and yeah...you're ****ing learning and playing at the same time!!!
Hands-down my favorite Bulkypix release (sorry Pix'n Love Rush!) ever!
Kawaii Pet Megu is kinda like a Tamagotchi style game.Never heard of this game before. What is it like?

Mind if I share that news on the Toucharcade forum or did one of the devs prefer to do that?
Pray for Death said:While you're here, I'd like to ask how you feel about this Into the Dead clone. When I first saw it, I thought it was a spin-off made by you guys, then I looked up the developer's name.

*** PLEASE NOTE: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is currently incompatible with iOS 7. We are investigating an update and appreciate your patience and support. ***
Having a quick look at AppAnnie, the game was removed on Monday, October 7th:
http://www.appannie.com/app/ios/gra...13-10-10&view=rank&store_id=143441&vtype=hour
According to Appshopper, they had the message:
So either they're trying to sort that out now (which would require a pretty big update, as the game wasn't iPhone 5 screen sized as well as iOS7 incompatible) or it's gone for the foreseeable future.
Good game that, played it on my DS.
I got them all, but to be honest just to support them hoping for new expansions (and someday the Bretonnian Knight).
What I use?
Nothing...my main team is just the initial four, because I like them more and that's what I played back in the day.
So my party is:
Marauder
IronBreaker
Waywatcher
Grey Wizard
So the Marvel Puzzle Quest game.
I bought a new hero and he's rare. Problem is, I have no idea how to level him up. The covers that drop look preset to the starter characters, and I can't unlock new abilities without his specific cover.
What exactly do they want me to do here?
One of the first ios games I ever bought, Castlevania Puzzle Encore of the Night, still one of my favorite ios games!
Glad it still works even without any updates!
Release schedule is iPad, iPhone/iPod, Android.iPad only or?
Release schedule is iPad, iPhone/iPod, Android.
So we've optimized for iPad right now. iPhone will be supported later this year.
When is Baldur's Gate II out?
Thanks, I'll let her know about it. I think the graphics are a big selling point for Megu to her but this is at least worth a shot!Hatchi may not have super-cute graphics, but it received very positive reviews.
Anyone play Costume Quest on the iPad yet? Good/Bad/indifferent?
