So I assume that iMessage kills the battery due to it requiring a constant connection to the server. Anyone know if this is confirmed?

No. 3G is worse.mastershake said:Doesn't wifi suck juice like crazy?

Gdamn. Really great comparison of iPhones right there.giga said:

I ended up keeping my iPhone and unless the Prime blows me the fuck away, I'll probably keep it for good. Coming from an Android user, I'm still not completely sold on iOS yet, but so far, I've noticed a spit and polish that Android simply doesn't have.
I don't think iMessage is adding any more battery strain since I assume it just runs off the push notification service.BigNastyCurve said:So I assume that iMessage kills the battery due to it requiring a constant connection to the server. Anyone know if this is confirmed?
All of my texts are iMessages, no noticeable difference beside the sweet sweet speed.LyleLanley said:I don't think iMessage is adding any more battery strain since I assume it just runs off the push notification service.
I think you just have new phone battery paranoia. Don't worry, it happens.Karish said:Usage: 3 hours and 50 minutes
Standby: 9 hours and 33 minutes

Sprint iPhone 4S. FML?

Tralfamadore64 said:Yeah, just add whichever ringtones you like to your phone, then when you are setting your alarm the new tones will be available as options for your alarm sound. I personally use the Hatch alarm from Lost.
Here are some sounds from the iphone ringtone thread.

Did you use the spoken punctuation? Works great, but I feel like I'm composing a telegram.Gary Whitta said:Just dictated my first Siri text message, feels like magic!

That's almost exactly double the usage time at the same battery % I'm at right now on my 3Gs. I'd say you are doing pretty well considering all I've done is play some scribblenauts and checked email's and other non-demanding junk.

Does anyone else find that when they use Siri, the keyboard/lockscreen sounds sound crazy loud for a few clicks afterward? ...Just me?

Does the AT&T Model use 4G? I'm so confused because I saw commercials for 4G for AT&T earlier but it wasn't an iPhone. :/
It seems AT&T launched 4G in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Atlanta, and Chicago...
I guess the iPhone doesn't support it yet because their site does not list it at all. :/
That is really stupid. lol. Glad I didn't upgrade from my 3GS.bucknuticus said:Yeah, the iPhone does not support 4g on any network.
Which carrier?Trojita said:So I checked my speeds when I went home. Yeah I was off, it wasn't 2 Megabits at most, it was .20 Megabits at lowest average and when going outside the most it peaked to was .70 Megabits, with a number between .30 and .60 being an average outside.
This can't be normal right?
The 4S downloads as fast as any current Verizon 4G device. Do the math.bucknuticus said:Yeah, the iPhone does not support 4g on any network.
Isn't AT&T's "4G" not really 4G at all, but rather HSPA+? Which the 4S does support, as I understand it.MidnightScott said:That is really stupid. lol. Glad I didn't upgrade from my 3GS.

Ouch. So glad ATT has better speeds. I only have 3 bars right now, so it wasnt the best speed tests. I got 5-7Mbs when I have 4-5bars. Just did these with three bars.Trojita said:So here were my speeds just now, the first couple jumped up in speed (60's and 70's) when I was outside

Maybe stop being so obsessed with speedtest results and focus on real-world performance.Trojita said:So here were my speeds just now, the first couple jumped up in speed (60's and 70's) when I was outside

Do web pages pop up as fast as you'd like them to? Does media stream without hiccups? Do apps download speedily?
