Uhh. If you don't get it on launch it'll be on Craigslist unlock for the same price so no need for a contract.

Looks like I'll be picking up a 4S here in Japan since Softbank is offering trade-ups for almost free (20$ trade up fee) if I already have a 2 year contract. Which is cool since I could really use the upgrade from my dying 3GS.

I assume that like the sprint.com orders, it just means that it has gone from apple's hand to UPS, which doesn't necessarily mean it will arive earlier than planned

edit: although if I was Apple, I would have them shipped and delivered early so I could deal with activations/customer service problems in 2 waves instead of all on Friday

Has anyone used the Griffin Etch cases before? They have a carbon effect back on them which look quite nice (much nicer in the flesh than photos). Just wondering which case to get, I only want a thin one really. I'd for the Apple bumpers but apparently they discolour quickly, get stretchy and grit/dirt behind them easily (which scratches the sides).

My order from AT&T premier is still processing...

AT&T almost certainly fucked me. Everyone is getting their shipping notifications right now and mine is sitting in the queue...and I know for a fact I ordered before a shit ton of the people getting shipments.

If I don't get my phone on Friday I'm switching off AT&T regardless of what the next phone can do network wise.

I made one damn change to my Verizon account and they "accidentally" moved my early upgrade date back 3 months, which then cancelled my Apple pre-order for the 4S.

I was in Costa Rica last week when pre-orders went live, but still managed to place my order. Should have it on Friday. Looking forward to the upgrade from the 3GS to the 4S.

Oh, and Apple sold 1 million of the new phones in just 24 hours. Guess the 4S isn't as much of a disappointment as some had thought. It's going to be insane outside the Apple stores on Friday.

If you're willing to let you of your phone number.

You can add a new line to your account, pay subsidized for your iphone 4s and then disconnect your main line and pay the ETF.

It's a good deal if your ETF is not high.

I did that and only payed 100 more on top of subsidized price.

One question, should I be able to walk into an AT&T store and have them replace a regular SIM chip with a micro-SIM? I'm upgrading to the 4S this week and giving the 4 to my wife. She's using a 3GS, however, so we'll need a new SIM. Hoping this will go smoothly.
