If you click Change to look at the list of data plans, it defaults to a $30 200MB one. I definitely wouldnt risk it.

although i gotta admit.. 4GB with tethering is sort of tempting for $35
 
Just wait for Apple if you've already gotten a reservation number. Why jump the gun and possibly get burned with AT&T when you're already in line at Apple?
 
What's annoying is when I go to check the status of my Apple reservation (after getting the reservation e-mail), it says there is an error (when I use Apple ID and pass) and then it says the reservation doesn't exist (when I use reservation #, SSN, billing zip).
 
YES! I FINALLY GOT MY DAMN ORDER NUMBER!

Probably a good thing I stayed up and watched Persona 4 before trying again. Now I can sleep. Good thing my mom will be home when it arrives so that she can sign for it.
 
Say I do buy the 4S from At&t w/ 2 year contract, and then the Iphone 4GS or 5 come's out next year. Because of the 2 year contract I can't upgrade at all or do I pay an early upgrade fee?

I'm trying like everyone else to upgrade 2 phones on a FAN account with unlimited data and a 200 a month text message plan...

I go on AT&T and try to upgrade and it doesn't specify what I'm doing with the $30/month data plan.

I go on Apple and it doesn't let me keep my txt messaging (only unlimited or pay per txt).

Should I just go to the store and make sure I am keeping my plans? Or just take the chance on AT&T?

I'll be checking with AT&T probably either tomorrow or Saturday and have a chat. Most likely you'll be keeping your same texting plan, as when I pre-ordered from Apple, they kept my $50 calling plan and my same data plan. When trying to edit for text - it just boots you back to the data plan page.

I usually jump ship every iPhone by selling the old one, but this time no one seems to want my iPhone. Is it because the install base for CMDA iPhone is smaller at the moment and people want At&t?

Im going from a 3G to unlocked 4S. My 3G is pay as you go. I heard you can turn a normal sim card into a microsim. Is this true and has anyone done it? I shouldn't even have to call my carrier to tell them I changed phones, should I? Just pop the microsim in and done?
 
Ugh, what the fuck. Got all the way to the credit card processing portion and says its unable to obtain an authorization. Probably because they told me I had to pay (even though its not due for another 3 days) and now my bank won't issue another authorization from the same place so quickly.

Fuck you ATT.
 
Just preordered two (gf). I cant wait, its going to be my first smartphone. :D

Edit:
I changed my contract to 1200Mb full speed internet Flat, after that its a 64kbit connection. Should this get me through the month?
 
Ha! Living in Canada has a good point for one - stupid Fido doesn't have the 4S available (and they wouldn't let me get it for a normal price either, because of some stupid contract shit).

So I just pre-ordered it unlocked straight from Apple. Screw you Fido! :) (To be fair, I'll say it once they give me a micro-sim. lol)
 
I was going to jump but now I'll wait. Got my iPhone 4 last October on a year contract so I'd be able to upgrade when the 4S comes but I'm happy with the 4 as is and the 4S isn't really going to offer me anything I really need right now to justify paying a few hundred quid for the privilage.
 
I went to bed around 4:15 when I had the phone reserved but didn't actually pre-order it. The websites were going nowhere.

Just woke up and re-clicked my reservation e-mail and then went right through the checkout process.

NOTE TO SELF: Next year -- wait 2-3 hours before pre-ordering. Not worth waking up at the start.
 
I was thinking, is it possible they'll call the new iPhone next year 4G? Probably confusing as fuck to most people (even my friends mistakenly refer to the 4 as 4G), but it would make sense.

I just can't see how they could call it iPhone 5 when it's really the sixth generation, and they can't call it six because that'd be skipping a 5.. 4S really fucked things up generation wise.

PS. By summer/fall 2012, which carriers will have actual real '4G' anyway??

I think they should've never attached anything to the name and just kept it "iPhone" but with each revision just added a generation to it -- like the iPod's.

The 4S would be the 5th generation, right?

Vodafone have a £59 payback if you buy through them today; but their reception is horrid (going off those working for my company around the UK that have Vodafone company phones). I'm waiting on O2 but they still haven't opened ordering.

vodaphone seems to offer the better £30 package, but i'm skeptical about the signal too. most people i know use o2/orange.

I didn't have an issue. Ordered from Apple.com, iPhone unlimited, black 32gb. And a bumper.

I have a FAN code, but if I have an issue there is an AT&T store on the way home from my office.

If it's any help, I've found O2 atrocious over the last couple of years. :p

I'm waiting for Three to put theirs up. £35 One Plan is amazing value - just not sure how much of a premium the 64GB model is going to be.
 
t-mobiles deal seems pretty good. esp with the booster deal and how coverage switches to orange when you cant get t-mobile (or something?)

I'm in the same boat as you, I went black. I think they look better, and I believe they are thinner...

Ended up having to order through AT&T.. Apple kept giving me "Credit Card Declined" on every card I have.

Got to keep unlimited data, but no option for AppleCare+. Hopefully Apple won't stick to their "Must be purchased with device" thing.

Did the orders through Apple.com include a message about the $18 AT&T Upgrade fee for the first bill?

T-Mobile quite tempting now they have the added coverage through Orange
 
White 4s pre-ordered and will be shipped on or before the 14th, woot. Too bad the pick up in store option wasn't able to be used =(
 
The white iPhones are not thicker. Proven a bunch last time.
 
Trying to cancel 1 of the 2 i ordered in Apple Store for hours now. Seems that the Order in the iPhone App came through too although i got only errors in the App.
 
Thought it was nice that you could transfer your upgrade when going through the process on Verizon's page to whatever phone you wanted.
 
Quick question, my mom is using my old iphone with my itunes account, when icloud comes out, will my contacts overwrite what is on her machine when she upgrades her 3gs to ios5? Is there an option to not sync contacts?
 
Hmph...just noticed that the address in my AT&T email shows my old address and not my current one...but I know I verified that all the shipping/billing information was correct, and going to the AT&T site I can't find anyplace to even pull up my old address, as everything is listing with my current one.

On hold now with customer service so I can ensure that whatever that old address is being used for is removed and that my phone isn't going to ship to some other dudes house.

...even when I'm done I'm not done!
 
Finally ordered the White 64GB with Three. £280 up front, £35/month for 2000/5000 (any/Three) minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data. ^_^
