I like this iFrogz headphone adapter for the iPhone but need one for an upcoming trip in a few days.

Where can I buy these in a B&M store? Does the Apple store or somewhere like Best Buy sell these?

Mossberg is chiming in now with a declaration that we'll see a 3G iphone within 60 days.

Yeah, he said it very matter-of-factly in the video.

Now I just need to find a way to dump my iPhone on someone

Why does Apple need to bother with it when the big sites will just redesign their sites to work on the iPhone without Flash?

So we don't have to wait for these companies to kowtow to Jobs's will. Also because I suspect a lot of big sites will just say "Fuck you" to Apple rather than bother with this bullshit.

As much as I enjoy the iPhone, there is a lot of shit there that smacks of Microsoft levels of market herding and control on Apple's part. :\

Do those morons have a suggestion box?

I want to be able to disable image loading in Safari since Edge tends to be shit more often than not. :\

You shouldn't have to wonder too hard about this one.
I don't, besides GAF I don't really see people complaining about the lack of 3G, not enough to sell their phones and buy a new one

Depends on what other changes/additions are made as well as that - better camera etc.

Some people upgrade every generation with their iPod, although personally I've always done it every other generation and will probably do the same with my iPhone.

I was going to get one of these, but Verizon has the Canada plan (where I'm from) so I might have to do that.

Can I use an unlocked iPhone on a Verizon plan? That would be awesome, but the data would probably kill my wallet.

An unlocked iPhone will only work on GSM-based carriers. Verizon isn't one of them.

Instead we kowtow to Adobe's will. Last I checked, building a flash-free site had nothing to do with bending to Apple's will but in fact recognizing that there's more than just iPhones out there which can't handle Flash well if at all.

I wonder if the new 3G model(s)? will cause a lot of the older models to pop up on eBay
Not for 3G alone, personally, but if it's got GPS, 16 Gig or more of storage *and* 3G, then I'd be interested. Though, I'd be afraid to see the price...

Given I'll almost never be in a position where I can use 3G regularly, I can't see upgrading unless we get a 32GB model - everything else I want (horizontal orientation for all text entry, horizontal orientation for the entire phone in general, third-party apps/games) can be done with a couple firmware updates.

I just got my iphone last night. Installed ziphone and unlocked it to 1.1.4 in 3 minutes. Process was simple and painless, just click on ONE button.

Questions:
- WTF is the point of including bluetooth if you can't connect it to another phone?
- Has anyone tried IzyMail for hotmail on the iphone?
- What USEFUL apps do i need to get?

Sorry if This is a dumb question but, Is it possible for you to jailbreak your iphone and run verizon on it?

No, only Tmobile in the states or any other provider that uses a sim card.

swirlymms, mobilefinder, mobilepreview, and isolitaire are must haves.

the 1st 3 are used for sending/receiving picture messages

Hey, by the way, I'm way behind on iPhone hacking and I forgot how to do this.

If I'm on 1.1.4 and I unlock it using ZiPhone or whatever it's called, how do I access the filesystem for ScummVM and custom text message sounds and stuff? Do I have to use an ftp client or what?

thanks! What do people use to edit the desktop?

MMS stuff like Swirly doesn't work for ATT, is that right?

it does, you just have to call ATT and ask them to enable MMS support. They'll bitch about it because the iphone doesnt support MMS, but just be persistent. I think it's like 25 cents per message tho or some bullshit. Long story short, fuck ATT

Apple has screwed the pooch and in doing so killed off all development on native iPhone applications. Many folks today are now sitting with a PSOD (pink screen of death) on their iPhone because Apple in their infinite wisdom put on an expiration date for the developer certificate but did think that perhaps they should release new certs or a firmware update yesterday since the certs expired at 12:01AM this morning.

Whomever is running their beta program really should be fired. This isn't the first major screw up.

Wow! That's really fucked up! I can't believe they would pull something like that. Agreed. The idiot in charge should be fired.

All they have to do is issue a new certificate, right?

TUAW says you can restore down to a previous version of firmware in the meantime.

But, yeah, this is why I've not certified my iPhone for testing yet. I'll wait till things stabilize and use the emulator in the meantime.

I would have too but the CoreLocation and OpenGLES functions only work on actual devices. All they SHOULD have to do is reissue a new certificate for the existing firmware release, but who knows what they are actually planning on doing. I just hope they do it soon.

What's the frequency and the likelyhood of the refurb poping up for sale again? , as my dad wants one.

Obviously they're going to pop up again, no question about that. It's just a matter of when. Hard to say exactly when that will happen, but I had to exchange mine out last week, so there is at least on in the pipeline! ;)

BTW, it might jut be my imagination, but my new iPhone seems to be quite a bit louder than my previous one.

Anyone else getting SSL server errors when trying to access gmail imap on thier iPhones?

Always worked before... Just started last night yet I haven't changed any settings.

NM: just fixed it. I had to forget the wifi connection and reconnect. Odd since I was browsing the web just fine.

Finally jail breaked my phone, I must say that it's value to me has risen quite drastically now. Before this it was just a phone and a nice web browser.

Though what I'm most happy about is the ability to turn off auto correction, god I hated that shit.

Without the auto correction the phone would be completely worthless to me. I don't know anyone who want to disable that. /shrugs

is there a way to set a sig on text's you send out?

No. And why would you want one? You have a limited number of characters on text messages. Anything beyond 160 characters and it starts breaking it into multiple texts. If someone I knew sent me a text with a sig, I'd punch 'em in the nose.

I can't imagine not using the auto-correction either. I get annoyed when it DOESN'T read my mind and know exactly what I want. :lol Beats the hell out T9 for me and once I got use to it, my typing speed increased dramatically.

My friend is having a problem with her iphone. The power button isn't working. It's not stuck of anything but when you press it, the phone won't lock and when you hold it the phone won't reset. The button doesn't feel broken though.

So now, she's scared that if her battery ever runs out, her phone won't be able to restart. Does anyone have any advice? The phone is unlocked (i unlocked mine and hers last week, they're new) and i live in canada so returning it to the apple store isn't exactly a solution.

Can't you restore the original firmware then take it to an Apple Store? Sounds maybe like you need a replacement.
