infiniteloop said:I did pretty much the same thing with my wife. If you can get the upgrade price, you'll just have your current plan + $30 data. So it would be $99.99 + all those taxes + one off activation fee (if you're on the lowest voice plan).
Undeux said:So, I've stayed away from looking at my friends' iPhones since they came out, and today I accidentally played with one for about fifteen minutes. So now I want to cancel my service with T Mobile and go buy one. I saw a site a long time ago that detailed how you can cancel out of cell phone contracts without termination fees - does anyone know what I'm talking about, or just have any advice?

bill0527 said:I'm also wondering about service plans. Currently, my wife and I have 5 months left on a family plan contract with AT&T. We both have cheapass LG phones. My wife is the primary name on the account and she added me to her AT&T account when my old contract ran out with Verizon. I am the one that will be getting the iPhone because she can't handle the awesome and sucks at technology. For some strange reason right now, when I make a current call on my phone, it shows my wife's name on the recipient's caller ID, instead of my name. I'm guessing its because she's listed as primary on our account. Is anyone here an AT&T employee or service plan guru and can tell me how something like this is handled? Do I have to get a brand new account of my own or does AT&T have a plan that will let my wife keep her current phone and then simply Add me on an iPhone plan and charge us the difference?
bill0527 said:For some reason, I'm not eligible for the upgrade price according to my local AT&T store, so now I'm going to have to wait for December when our contract runs out. I guess I'm ok with that because I can now ask for a 16GB phone for Christmas![]()

Just wanted to say, someone posted it earlier in the thread, I'm just regurgitating. I couldn't find their post to give proper credit though for the initial discovery.dskillzhtown said:thanks for posting this!!! Great program!
I can agree that App Store apps on 2.0 are very buggy/unstable right now, but the base OS 2.0 services seem as stable as they have been in previous releases. Which isn't to say rock-solid but far from the buggiest OS I've seen.Nick said:Can we all agree that iPhone software version 2.0 is the buggiest OS ever created? Phoenix said:2.0 has SIGNIFICANT issues, and don't think that Apple doesn't know about them or didn't know about them before shipping. MANY of these issues were reported by testers as bugs in the OS long before the platform shipped. But Apple had a date they wanted to keep so they pushed it out the door which is what happens when arbitrary dates drive engineering.

K? Thanks.
Undeux said:Can you add a custom sound for when you get a text message? I don't see any option for that.
Not without jailbreaking your phone...Undeux said:Can you add a custom sound for when you get a text message? I don't see any option for that.

maynerd said:This is pretty much a standard feature on any cell phone out there. You miss a call you get a auditory or vibration reminder until you hit a button. Generally the beep/vibration is set to once every few minutes or so. It blows me away that this is not on the iphone since there is no visual indicator it's quite necessary.

goodcow said:My old Samsung would vibrate as an initial notification. Then if the phone wasn't touched, it would beep after three minutes, but it wouldn't loop or repeat.
Any kind of "hey look there's a message, let me keep beeping like Motorola's low battery notification" would be a pain in the ass.

maynerd said:Preferably Apple would put in some sort of preference.
Missed Call
Text Message
Voicemail
All would have the following settings option for each type
Reminder - Yes/No
Number of reminders - Once/Repeating/choose # of times
Time of reminder - 1 minute/2 minutes/3 minutes/choose number of minutes
Reminder type - Audible/Vibrate
I dunno something like that.

It was originally on iTunes, then pulled, and now it's back. Interesting.
Tobor said:Hmmm, it's made by Nullriver. They make excellent apps. I swear by Connect 360. This has to violate your AT&T contract though.

DarkJC said:Is this on the Canadian store, anyone know?
edit: I've seen some posts on forums that called CSRs confirming that if you're on the 6GB data plan tethering is allowed
Kung Fu Jedi said:Fire up iTunes and do a search. Should be easy to find, and from what I understand, it was only pulled from the U.S. App Store earlier.

DoctorWho said:When I picked my phone up they said absolutely no tethering. I'm on the 6GB deal. I wonder if there is any truth to this though!! That would be neat!
DarkJC said:I'm asking because I've searched on the App Store on my phone and no luck.
I'll try clicking a direct link from home however, I've heard that has better success. BoxOffice isn't showing up in search for me right now either so something feels wonky.
