Also, if you get the problem, the company provides a full retail package replacement if you can send them pictures of the problem (the package comes with screen protectors and what not). At the very least, seems like the company has a good customer service team.

FWIW; I'm not really a fan of cases for my iPhone, but I've started using the mophie Juice Pack Air, and...it's pretty good! Really smart layout, battery seems solid, does everything I need for extended travel. About the only complaint is that - at least at first - it is ridiculously hard to get the phone out of the case due to the mold of the plastic.
If you want a giant chunk of extra battery life, it's a pretty good idea (and way better than all of those HK battery pack products...can't believe how many of those I tried to use with my original PSP!) :lol
EDIT: Okay, one real complaint: Micro-USB? Really? It's still a standard port, but damn, Mini-USB (as used on PSP, PS3 Controllers, just about any portable hard drive, etc.) would have been much better.

I am trying to get a plan through my school with the discounted price, but it wont let me add text messaging on the damn thing. If i got the plan will it let me add text messaging later?

I ordered mine as soon as the store came up on the 9th--no email yet. I'm leaving for a week+ vacation the evening of the 19th. 
I really hope I accidentally get my phone on the 18th.

Some iPhone 3G S orders set to be delivered tomorrow
Waiting days in the blistering sun for a phone that more level-headed folks (that is, not us) will be able to get by simply waltzing into a store a few days later just isn't what it used to be, is it? As iPhones make the inevitable transition from wildly-anticipated objects of lust to commodities, it seems that Apple's putting progressively less effort into carefully orchestrating and micro-managing launches -- and if you want solid proof of that, look no further than the shipping tracking numbers coming off of the online Apple Store's order status site where you'll find that some iPhone 3G S units should be in buyers' hands tomorrow. If you're counting, that'd be a full two days before the official release of this Friday -- and while we suppose the company could have some agreement in place with its carriers to hold onto the units until the official release, we're not giving UPS that much credit.

If you ordered from Apple, check your order it'll most likely say Prepairing for Shipping, I ordered mine on the 9th as well.

So if you preordered in AT&T stores.. I think this is the situation.
We obviously got shipping numbers that don't work in UPS because UPS hasn't scanned them yet but they we've had our non working tracking numbers as early as the Apple.com order people have had theirs.
AT&T stores are probably getting these shipped on large pallets or boxes and our boxes are all UPS labeled and inside. I bet they will break down these freight boxes at the US UPS location or at Imports and ship them from there with our tracking numbers. I bet our tracking numbers will start working as soon as the Apple.com orders hit the US as they are probably on the same planes/routes.
This also explains why it lists "Freight" in our tracking information.

Got a tracking update on my iPhone. It's in Anchorage, AK (1:48PM AK time). However, the Delivery Date has disappeared. I'm starting to think I won't have the phone tomorrow, but I'm crossing my fingers.

I love having the latest release, but I dunno if I can justify dropping $10 for the 3.0 software at this point. There's no killer app for it.

Hey I just thought I'd give everyone who hasn't preordered yet or wants to cancel their at&t preorder. I just went to best buy and preordered the iphone 3gs and evidently if you do that you get a $50 gift card. So yeah, free money if you preorder from Best Buy.
