Man, I've been listening to music in/at school by way of portable devices since like high school (had a Diamond Rio 500, baby!). I mainly use my iPod when walking to and from class since it's about a 20 minute walk -- much more enjoyable and manageable to do that while grooving to some music.

And yeah, iPods are as much a fashion statement as sunglasses or something are at this point.

Agreed. Also, I've been on board with MP3 players since the Diamond Rio 300, baby! That thing was like the first commercially viable MP3 player ever.

I love my iPod. The 30+ minute walk I have to class is much more enjoyable with it. Plus, it was pratically free with the purchase of my Powerbook.

Maybe it's time for the revival of hoisting a big-ass boombox on your shoulder and walking around like that. Oh, and wear a gigantic wall-type clock around your neck connected with a gold chain because those things were awesome...

The other day I was at a coffee shop playing cards and, at around 2 in the morning, there was a guy doing that. I shit you not. Man....all the weirdos flcok around the coffee shop early in the AM (I guess that makes me a weirdo by default).
