Based on the trailer I doubt this will be "woke" in the traditional way.
I expect it will just be "we make fun of modern society, but we'll mostly focus on the side thatTwitter Bluesky says is ok to mock".

Can you point me to all the outrage about Spiderman 1 when it came out? The only thing I remember was the rainbow flags in the city and Nexus mods banning a mod that changed it to a US flag, and even that was the PC release which was years after the original release.
I don't recall much complaining about it when it came out on console.

How can i provide specifics when it was about a year ago on the forum? I told you that is mostly single people poisening the atmosphere. I'm not talking about people calling something woke when it desevers but rather unverified accusations.

I called this years ago. GTA VI will indeed break records and sales and blah blah blah but you will not be getting the likes of launch GTA V and previous installments when it comes to tone and humor. This is going to be "safe" and predictable for a modern gangster story, and a monetized mess geared towards streamers and influencers. Take Two Interactive is one of the worst greedy corpos who has no interest in maintaining the tone of a franchise. They just want their billions. They're gonna hide the lack of traditionally raunchy satire with how many cars on the road, birds in the sky, songs on the phone, etc.

This is the very last thing I would be worried about when it comes to GTA 6.
So many things could end up being bad about the game because its so big and ambitious but people want to worry about it being "woke" lol.

I remember buying day one games in the past because they were being “boycotted” at Era: stuff like Sifu (cultural appropriation), Cyberpunk, Stellar Blade, Wukong… the most recent anti-woke panic at GAF is making me have a similar reaction.

I'm honestly more concerned about GTA VI living up to people's expectations more than anything else. I mean, will the game be good/great? Hopefully. Will it live up to the hype? Hopefully. Most of the games that got THIS level of hype didn't come out the way people wanted them to. So, if this does, and nails it across the board it'll be a huge accomplishment across many levels.
That being said, GTA's satire was one of the best things since its birth. If it changes and THAT bad, it'll certainly feel like it's suffering from some kind of identity disorder. But all we can do is wait and see. At least before jumping to such vivid conclusions.

I don't blame you. That one "woke" list contained a TON of games that I played that I never associated with being woke. Many I genuinely loved. I never really cared for the whole "woke" thing, I just enjoyed games I enjoyed. But I wasn't entirely numb to some instances that people were labeling as "woke". If anything I'd see something and think, "Oh, I'm sure people are going to be upset about that", and then continue playing. That list really tripped me out though cause it felt like people were looking for "woke" things to be upset about.

So it couldn't possibly be a DEI infested game because of a trailer from literally 1 year ago showing some fat ass booty bouncing. Footage that will not be in the game. Footage meant to show the series is still cool. Footage meant to get you to pre-order. The game may not even be out in one year. That trailer is irrelevant. So much can and likely has changed. I am going to be cautiously optimistic, but I fully expect the game to be missing strip clubs and hookers and offensive terms. They may not have Sweet Baby on the pay roll, but something similar.

I just finished listening to the video. This is not something I want to think about. I’d rather wait for the game. However, these people are going to go for the big target companies especially. And if it’s woke, it’ll stick out.

1) what is Rockstar's objective in having a Hispanic woman play the role of a criminal in this game? (that's racism)
2) the game needs to have mod lock because several mods from sadism to nudism will be put in the game.
3) many people may record gameplays of random fights with NPCs just to see the character getting beaten.
4) the game's graphics are good, and a female protagonist that objectification of women thing etc.

Political correctness and Gran Theft Auto is like water and oil they don't mix but then again all the genius behind the series and Rockstar as a whole already left. I'm still looking forward to it but I don't have much hope.

So they changed one flag and snipped one line of dialogue.But games released in 2018 weren't made in 2018.
We've seen quite the shift happening between games released that year and their sequels, like Spider-Man > Spider-Man 2, God of War > Ragnarok..

There's no way a game with the budget of GTAVI risks offending The Wrong People®. I'm expecting GTA6 to be pretty cringe on that front. Heck, they already started editing out stuff from their prior games. I suspect GTAVI's humour will lampoon the pre-approved list of applicable comedic punchlines with the best copy/paste wit money can buy: YouTube culture, American CEOs like Elon Musk, mobile phones and tech culture, Left wing institutions like Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, American consumerism, right-wing demagogues like Donald Trump, and The Media®. If you're expecting honest or insightful social commentary from a billion dollar video game, I think you'll be disappointed.

The fact that the main female character is anyway attractive, the fact that we saw thong bikini girls and such in the trailer, makes me more confident than with a lot of games.
I have a sixth sense for picking up on this tone and what we've seen of GTA6 so far gives me a "wait and see" attitude.
