It is probably technically racist (since at the end of the day the sole determining factor is race), but is one of those things that is universally accepted by people from all sides of the spectrum, thus socially acceptable (for now). You can also make a case a preference for tall men / women is a sign of ableism, but again - it's something that is naturally accepted by vast, vast majority.

I am in a weird position. I am Latino. I find it hilarious whenever people call Latino's a race. Simply because Latino people are a mix of all races. Though I know that people would get all butthurt if you made them identify by their skin color for the latinos. Then, that is where things become complicated. Trigueña skin color is very common especially amongst us caribbean folk. It is basically the mix all of skin colors or caramel skin color. Where there are white, black, and even asian descent latinos. So is it cheating to say that I am only attracted to Latinas as a Latino? Seems like a silly proposition.

Honestly don't think there's a race of women that I can't find an attractive quality about. I had a buddy growing up that was against dating black girls, but that changed when he got older when he started dating a black girl for a few years, but she ended up getting pregnant by one of her co-workers so that never panned out for him. Which I found hilarious because he used to give me so much shit for dating a very dark black girl in my early teens. Which I didn't care because while he would try and tease me for it, he'd be the one jerkin' his shit, while her and I would go at it like rabbits. I guess if I had to dig down, I'd maybe say Tongan woman aren't the most pleasing to my eye, but then again, the only Tongan girl I ever dated was also super fun to be with, so her not being a knockout didn't really bug me either.

It depends on what your definition of "racism" is.
I try to keep mine simple. If you discriminate on the basis of race, then you are being racist. With this in mind, avoiding relationships with people due to their race, is racist.
I wish people could be more open with their racism though, as I think pretty much everyone is racist on some level and my world would be better if we could all be honest about it.

i mean - lets face it - people want and crave attention and companionship and sticking that "well i am just not attracted to <race>" will FALL APART when someone of that persuasion shows affection, love, and attention to you.
Rules of attraction are mostly self imposed bullshit - People have a preference for sure - but you don't need to pull in the most amazing models of that race to prove the point - good people are good people, eventually people click that that is what they want and the rest doesn't matter. AT ALL.
