Is now a good time to invest in Nintendo stock?

Investment 101: Buy low, sell high.

The stock is high right now.

So no.

Apple stock was high a few years ago but it kept climbing. Best not to even try to time the market, just buy sensibly. Hell, I sold my ARM shares a few years ago because I thought they were overvalued, now look

This is *probably* a terrible time to start buying in though.

Lot of people in here don't know how stocks work it seems. Even now you can make great returns with Nintendo stocks. Just wait for the gap. Nintendo's stock pattern is pretty much a textbook pattern at this moment.

Hold out for the $30-32 drop before you buy. I can see the stock going to $45-50. But then again, listen to your gut feeling, since there is no 100% in stock market.

Wait for a couple of weeks until the hype for Pokemon starts fading, then short

Don't buy stocks in a company you're emotionally attached with, might as well do sport betting

a couple of weeks ago would have been a good time to invest

This.

You missed the first class seats.

But there maybe Economy Class seats available.

I forgot the report, but someone said they give this a 4 month run. And you have Pokemon Sun and Moon. Barring an internal fuck up from other sections at Nintendo, it can't hurt.

If you believe the NX( and the other mobile games) will be a success yes, it still can go higher. If you wanna do it for the pokemon craze then its too late. You probably wont see a return as good considering the time but it can be good too.

Your thinking is the definition of a bubble OP. You don't buy stocks exhibiting this pattern. It's basically gambling. If you want to invest money, then do your research, and buy low and sell high.

I really wanted to make a proper investment (by my meagre standards) in the company last year, but I just couldn't spare the cash to make it a worthwhile endeavour.

Nice to know that my single Iwata-memorial share is increasing in value though. :)

Appreciate the responses yall. I figured Google would be a safe bet but they are currently on the rise, so I feel like I should wait for it to go down again.

That's no fun! Haha. But yeah that's good advice. I guess I'm looking to continue to gamble for quick money

You obviously don't know how this works. If you want to start off with a company like Google, you need tons of money. A thousand isn't going to get you far.

When investors realize that Pokemon GO's revenue do not pass through Nintendo's financials when they release Q1 results, yes. Until then, don't touch it.

How do you even but Nintendo stocks? They're not on the New York Stock Exchange are they?

My broker (Dutch) allows me to buy international stocks, however against a pretty steep transaction price (base price + very small percentage) and with minimum transaction costs. Thus I would have to be pretty sure about my purchase being really successful to even consider it.

With "only" a 1000 dollars (again, I'm assuming OP is not Japanese/lives in Japan). His transaction costs would probably largely offset his potential rate of return. Additionally he might have to keep an eye out for further transaction costs due to the currency difference.

Only reason to buy shares now would be so if someone says to you on GAF "Why do you care what Nintendo does, you're not an investor?" you can slap them two times silly and say "Actually I am!"

Lol! It went down sooo much since I posted this OP. If it keeps going down I actually may follow through with this 😏

On the real, really appreciate all the responses.
