Is PGR4 worth buying having PGR3 ?

I loved PGR3, and it's still the only racing game I have for the 360, I'm now looking at Forza 2 or PGR4, both are the same price (25€), but I don't know if PGR4 has any big changes that justify its purchase or it's only the same game as PGR3 but with bikes.

Also, is Forza 2 enjoyable with only pad? I don't want to buy a steering wheel for it, also I have Gran Turismo 4 and, despite finding it enjoyable I became bored fast, I didn't even get all the licenses and my game completion must be <20% in it, is Forza similar to GT in that way? (licenses->new circuits->more creds->buy fast car...)

PGR4 is so more then "PGR3 with bikes", while you should notice that PGR4 makes a move from PGR3 and does not reach it's standards in some levels. However, it's definately purchase-worth.

But, you sould also buy Forza 2, because it's the best racing game on X360. And you shuld also reconsider Test Drive Unlimited as a must, because it's a racer like no other.

I pretty much preffered 3 over 4. 4 was slightly dissapointing to me. But I'm not a big fan of racing games. I do love driving games, though.

Considered getting GRiD?

Nah, tried the demo but didn't like it at all, it's fun, but the driving is "strange", I liked DiRT more.

And I already played TDU on the PC, great game :)

I love it. You will love it. Everybody should love it.

Yes you should, I enjoyed PGR4 quite a bit more than PGR3. It's got all the courses of PGR3 and some new ones, bikes, weather effects, etc. There are some pretty fun/creative achievements too, including a Back to the Future throwback.

Be aware though, the online portion is pretty much a wasteland in my experience.

Matchmaking does take a while to find you a match, but once you are in, you are nearly always in a full room and the racing is fun as hell.

For 25€ each, you should just buy both? Jeez, it's almost like you're stealing them for that price. You're not that cheap are you?

I feel so terrible for not having purchased PGR4 yet. PGR2 was my favorite Xbox game, and PGR3 was probably the biggest draw for me in purchasing a 360 at launch. However, the whole "supercars only" thing was really disappointing and I never loved it as much as I did PGR2.

Yes, PGR 4 is worth buying as it is a different experience, it is more akin to PGR2, which, if you haven't got, is well worth the price of admission too.

Also, Forza 2 is suited well to pad play, it isn't quite as good as wheel based playing but it certainly isn't unplayable, both games are well worth buying too.

It's so cheap everywhere. Saw at RadioShack of all places for $19.99 or something.

Flatout:UC, which has nothing to do with this thread, is also a must-purchase for the 360 if you like racing games.

PGR4 : Yes my god so awesome, so much better and has geo wars waves.
Forza: Yes beats the poo out of me but still so awesome
Flatout:UC: .....yes.....its (and I will appreciate the kicking I will probably get when I say this) more burnout than burnout paradise...

God, you're going to make me buy GRiD and Flatout too guys ? :lol

A big 'Yes' on PGR4...

I also concur with the Flatout recommendation... Seriously overlooked arcade racer. The thing looks great, is challenging, chaotic, fast, fun and as a.wd said - more Burnout-like than Burnout P.

I <3 this thread.

To the OP: Yes, PGR4 and Forza 2 are both worth having. I play them concurrently because they offer different things. PGR4 is more arcade-style flash, while Forza is a great sim.

Test Drive rocks as well. And now I'm going to have to buy Flatout:UC too! :lol
