Feels exactly like the picture! I am bored of waking up every day to clean my consoles, TV, monitor...etc from the dust that is caused by the AC

Yes the filters are clean and all that but I still wake up every day to see dust on top of all what I mentioned above and it frustrated more than it should

So here I am making this thread and hoping that some of you has an effective solution that will end with for me sooner than later. Thank you

Hire a cleaner to do it for you. Cleaning it daily seems like an exaggeration so something must be wrong with your air filters, your location or you have some dust phobia.
It isn't an exaggeration. I wake up every day finding dust on my consoles but not that its covering the whole thing, of course not.

Hiring a cleaner to do something that doesn't take 5 minutes is not worth it

Like small specks of dust or a huge amount of dust that usually settles after weeks of not using/cleaning something? Something is def wrong if you're having large amounts of dust on a daily basis. Are your surroundings that dry? If yes I guess one solution would be an air humidifier. Don't buy the cheap stuff nor the aroma therapy ones.

Yeah small but covering a decent area. Can't see if not very close to the consoles

I live in a humid city and it is mostly dry yes. Will check those air humidifiers thank you

Mate it's normal for this region. We have a shit load of the stuff in the atmosphere. Our balcony gets covered in dust and sand in a matter of days if it's not cleaned, same with the car if we have to leave it outside stationary anywhere for more than a few hours.

This stuff gets inside your home through the air circulation and air conditioning.

If you use your air conditioning regularly then look into upgrading your air filters.

Other than that there's not much you can do other than dust regularly and make sure your floors are cleaned.

I was hoping for you to see this thread because we in the same region. So thats definitely something I can't control unfortunately

I just don't want to reach to a point where I have to open my consoles to clean all the mess inside :messenger_weary:

Mista, I feel the same way. I always have a dusting cloth close by to clean stuff whenever I notice any dust accumulating. When humanity develops a tool that siphons all dust in a room I'll buy it in a heartbeat :D

Yeh you shouldn't have to open up your consoles or PC as long as you keep them and the surrounding area clean every other day or so. Also try to keep them elevated as high away from the floor as reasonably possible. But yeh, there's not much we can do about it here, it's part of that middle east life. When I first moved here from the UK I though there was something seriously wrong with my apartment, but nope it's been the same in 4 different apartments in 4 different areas across the years that I've been here.

We get a maid every 3 days or so because my wife hates it when the balcony gets too dirty for her to sit out on and I'm too lazy to clean as regularly as I should :messenger_expressionless:

If next gen can have better ventilation it would be a blessing, because I grew up with the 360 and anytime you heard that console heating up you feared for the RROD.

That depends on the source of the dust. For a lot of people, it's dead skin cells mixed with hair and microfibers from clothes. For others, it's the outside environment. At any rate, regularly washing your clothes and bedsheets is good, along with vacuuming your room thoroughly at least once a week. Vacuum curtains and other objects/surfaces that might hold dust. You could also try a high volume air filter.

A HEPA filter air purifier with a carbon prefilter should reduce it somewhat. It will at least make it a little easier to breathe in your room.

I've used this model for something like 15 years. I think I've gone through 4-5 of them in that time.

I had an older model of that. Good stuff.

Buy good quality tight pile carpet.

Vacuum often.

Don't own pets.

Don't own children.

Your ac doesn't cause dust, that's stupid. All ac is is some metal components that move air, it doesn't make dust. Almost all dust is from skin dandruff and cheap carpeting and pets.

After some googling, the "dirtiest" clean room (ISO 8) requires 10 -25 air changes per hour through a filtration system. You may be able to reasonably approximate the particulate level by installing a number of HEPA air purfiers. In my own experience, I have a small air purifier and it did reduce the amount of dust in my apartment by a noticeable amount.

What model do you have?

was looking up some air purifiers and figured I'll check with GAF too. if I only need something to filter dust and not really worry about allergen or chemical/odor, also something that doesn't require some fancy filter I have to buy every 6 to 12 months (ie washable/reusable filter) , is there anything that fits these request?

Use fans to circulate the air in the room and then have air purifiers to filter the air and capture the dust. Possibly have a fan on near your consoles to blow away the dust as well. Doing this will also help circulate the cold or hot air from your air conditioners/heaters and make the room colder/hotter. You probably don't need the fans on all day, but have them on periodically throughout the day and get some good air circulation going.

Edit: Also, make sure to vacuum your carpet periodically especially if you have pets and maybe vacuum more frequently.

If you want a practical solution, don't look at any surfaces in the daylight. Only look at them in dim night lighting. Then you won't see the specks that will be accumulating every day no matter what you do.

I noticed an irobot daily run picks up a TON of dust. Hopefully it will now spread a bit less in the apartment since the floors are clean most of time so I don't kick it around?
oh and put down shades. You can't see dust then :p

My PVC figures are a reminder that there is nothing i can do unless everything was still inside the box it came or a replacement of it.
