Is this the cringiest scene in the MCU (Spiderman 2017)

Almost everything about the MCU is cringe, including the name and it's sycophants.

But yeah, that does take the cake. I wonder how many people watched that and developed a worldview off what a Spider-Man movie told them? That's why they do this.

Basically came to say this. The whole stuff is cringey and I cant really believe people like it.
Whatever, old man yells at cloud etc.

It's a cool shot. You can almost miss it if you're caught up in the climax in general since so much is going on.

Silly that there was ever a fuss. People need to suck it up sometimes. Female superheroes are badass.
The issue is that that shot exists for the sole purpose of telling us just that "women = badass". But then they don't do anything!

It's jarring because all the action stops so they can "show how badass they are", then they continue the action.

Why not actually have them do badass things instead?
Was there a shot where Cap, Ironman, thor, hulk, spiderman, doctor strange, etc all lined up and did a "badass" pose?
No, it wasn't necessary because their action sequences show it.

That's why there was a fuss. Tokenism. It's SJWs pandering, and it's ruining all forms of entertainment.

If you think this shot is empowering to women you're an idiot.

I guess I’m in the minority I enjoyed this scene because when I looked over at my daughter she was smiling seeing some female heroes that she loved get a cool scene . I guess it depends on how you look at it
Was she frowning before this scene?

What bothers me about the slavery bit is that people are stupid enough to believe it. MCU fans are not known for their intelligence.
You nailed it. Funny how much the "other side" gets shit on for making mountains out of molehills yet here we are, constantly.
😂 We can't criticize scenes in a movie now?

The other side doesn't get shit for just complaining. It's a bit more than that.

MCU perhaps, what of lighting our darkest hour with robot balls destroying slave built pyramids? No respect.

We are all slaves, and we fight like rats for fiat currency that is constantly being devalued. The globalists constantly raise property tax, family tax, and death tax while issuing ever-increasing debt and usury.

Slavery will end when we burn the printing press and defund the Federal Reserve Bank.

Really don't have a problem with any of the scenes mentioned.

Although I am kinda afraid after the events of this year that this stuff will dial up to 11.

Slaves built the pyramids. Is she too far up her own ass for that too?
I bet a 40 year old fat white guy wrote that line too.
Fucking sad sacks.

Slaves didn't build the pyramids.

We have records of the pay the workers received, incidents of them going on strike, receiving bonuses and the tomb of one of their chief architects who was born as a dirt poor peasant, but worked his way up through merit to be incredibly rich and powerful, answerable only to the Pharaoh.

The Ancient Egyptians were of course utter bastards in other was, and would in some periods enslave the armies they defeated, but the whole slaves built the pyramids thing is just based on Judeo-Christian mythology.

You're having a laugh which is all well and good, but there are a lot more significant discrepancies between archeological / geological findings and the Torah. Some are more a matter of interpretation or a piece of a puzzle yet to be found, while others would be a lot more difficult to explain. At the end of the day, what we don't have absolute concrete proof of, remains so.

However, the Torah never mentions the pyramids to begin with, so your outrage is stupid.

The worst part of this scene is that they are supposed to help Cpt. Marvel, a demigod that can destroy with zero effort space cruisers and beat Thanos in raw strength...but somehow they think they are going to be helpfull. Also it happens after an amazing scene with lots of heroes collaborating on helping Peter move around with the Gauntlet. Like the whole movie motto is "we need everybody" but this scene said "we don't need the guys". Bullshit.

I don’t understand how that article comes to the conclusion that they weren’t slaves.

buried in mass graves with traditions of the times. Had 3 month shifts. Ate food.

doesn’t scream not slave to me.

"Hawass said the builders came from poor families from the north and the south, and were respected for their work – so much so that those who died during construction were bestowed the honour of being buried in the tombs near the sacred pyramids of their pharaohs."

"preserved by dry sand along with jars of beer and bread for the afterlife."

"The skeletons were found buried in a foetal position – the head pointing to the west and the feet to the east according to ancient Egyptian beliefs, surrounded by jars once filled with supplies for afterlife."

This sounds like a respectful burial, I'm no archeologist, but it doesn't seem like slaves would be offered such respect. It's not like their bodies were just tossed into a pile.

comic book movies are generally pretty dumb, yeah. Except for Tim Burton’s Batmans. Batmen?
Let's be honest though, if it was released today it'd be called SJW virtue signalling garbage by people, I mean come on, they cast a black actor for a character who was white in the comics, they gave Catwoman a more empowered story, etc.

In the same way people push for "wokeness" we've also gone backwards in what changes we used to be ok and now everything is just a damn argument from either side.

You’ll get no argument from me there. I find it all incredibly tiresome, either people claiming shit isn’t woke enough or it’s too woke, or people getting mad at people like me who think they’re all a bunch of babies when I just care if the movie is good or not.

This might just be a nitpick, but one thing that always pissed me off about this is that The Wasp is front and center when it makes no sense for her to be there. She's supposedly helping Ant-Man getting the van working again, yet she appears here for a stupid agenda shot. I love the MCU for the most part, but this is one of the worst 10 seconds out of all of them. It's so pandering, that it's painful to watch.
