Right? This is exactly the same impulsive idiot from decades ago. He grew up in an environment where hesitation, consideration and education were weaknesses and flaws. The Trump we see now is the same from The Apprentice, the same that called for the deaths of the Central Park Five, and the same that draft dodged

Stance as of yesterday.

Yatom said he did not know if the reports of giving away an ally's information were true ”and I don't know from where, I don't know if it was from Israel," but ”if someone gives the US very sensitive information...it is prohibited to give the information to a third party – for sure not to Russia who has ties with Iran and Syria."

Multiple former officials, including former IDF intelligence deputy chief and INSS expert Brig.-Gen. (res.) Dr. Meir Elran said that the story was ”not very significant" for Israel ”unless the information was received from Israel, and there is no indication of that."

Further, he said that intelligence sharing between the US and Israel ”is too important, even if there are...glitches" where Trump or others in the US break some of the unwritten rules of the game.

Elran said that Israeli intelligence ”takes into account always that this could happen" but at the end of the day ”intelligence assets are national assets" and they do not get to decide how the political echelon uses their information.

Israeli intelligence officials are concerned that the exposure of classified information to their American counterparts in the Trump administration could lead to their being leaked to Russia and onward to Iran, investigative journalist Ronen Bergman reported in Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot on Thursday.

The intelligence concerns, which have been discussed in closed forums recently, are based on suspicions of unreported ties between President-elect Donald Trump, or his associates, and the government of Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
As Russian intelligence is associated with intelligence officials in Tehran, highly classified information, such as Israel's clandestine methods of operation and intelligence sources, could potentially reach Iran. Such information has been shared with the United States in the past.

American intelligence officials expressed despair at the election of Trump during a recent meeting with their Israeli counterparts, Bergman reported. They said that they believed that Putin had ”leverages of pressure" over Trump, though they did not elaborate. The American media reported on Wednesday that Russia has embarrassing intelligence about the president-elect.

According to Bergman, the American intelligence officials implied that Israel should ”be careful" when transferring intelligence information to the White House and the National Security Council (NSC) following Trump's inauguration – at least until it is clear that Trump does not have inappropriate connections with Russia.

Can't be overstated. Trump never gave off an air of being smart. He was always an imbecile and to support him meant you were either dumb or were eager to use his stupidity to your advantage. There is no politician in Trump and never was. He was always a fool in a terrible suit.

The follow up question is whether Israel - and the rest of our allies - will learn from this and stop sharing sensitive intel. Which they probably should refrain from doing, under the circumstances.

They gotta make the call about whether it's better to try and coordinate with the US, or to keep things secret because the US is run by a corrupt idiot who might leak it to due to incompetence, malice, or both.

What a shithole we've put ourselves in.

If they're desperate to share. Otherwise they'd be just as foolish to ever share info, not only with a Trump administration, but literally with any of his supporters participating in government in the future. It's not just Trump but the hundreds of GOPers who go to bat for and protect him on such fatal flubs

It's already happening in these past hours:

A senior European intelligence official tells The Associated Press that his country might stop sharing information with the United States if it confirms President Donald Trump shared classified details with Russian officials.

The official said Tuesday that doing so “could be a risk for our sources.”

The official spoke only on condition that neither he nor his country be identified, because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

A senior German lawmaker has expressed concern about reports that President Donald Trump revealed highly classified information about the Islamic State group to Russian officials.

Burkhard Lischka said in a statement to The Associated Press that “if it proves to be true that the American president passed on internal intelligence matters that would be highly worrying.”

Lischka, who sits on the German parliament’s intelligence oversight committee, noted that Trump has access to “exclusive and highly sensitive information including in the area of combating terrorism.”

The Social Democratic Party lawmaker said that if the U.S. president “passes this information to other governments at will, then Trump becomes a security risk for the entire western world.”

So let's map this out for anybody unaware of the connections:

Russia is allied with Assad in Syria. Assad has long been a puppet of Iran. Iran sponsors Hezbollah in Lebanon who Israel has gone to war with twice in the last 10 years. Hezbollah and Iran prop-up the militant wing of Hamas, the terrorist organization which poses the most imminent threat to Israeli civilians.

Good job Donald. Bet you're proud.

It's hard to blame Israeli intelligence who work closely with American intelligence. Israeli intelligence is the strongest intelligence community in the Middle East, out of necessity, and the United States is their closest ally. Intelligence officers from the US and Israel have been working together for decades, and so when one of them has information on something like ISIS it mutually benefits them to share that information... It could be a life vs. death scenario for Israelis. And yet, I don't think that those Israeli intelligence officers would be thinking that the president of the United States would out them to Russia, a country that actively funnels money and weapons to terrorist organizations dead-set on the annihilation of Jews in the Middle East.
