It’s not our job

I agree OP, I don't want to see anyone lose their jobs but I am not going to actually worry about if these people managing these studios are doing a good job. If you are a good employee you will hopefully find solid employment.

I feel like the industry needs a reset and budgets need to reduce. I don't care about super, super high end assets. Sure they look nice but I am probs gonna spend 20 to 100 hours on a game full stop then move on. Whatever they need to do to sort this all out then do it.

I do think Execs need to be held accountable to these fuck ups though.
You are naive if you thing layoffs happens because companies want became more efficient. They layoffs even when revenues increase especially MS. Shouldn't be legal such practice.

Isn't it just natural to have an interest in how well the people are doing who produce something you are into?

Sure, for some people it becomes an obsession, and that's ... dumb, frankly ... but apart from that I don't see the issue.

No, I literally believe that I can do nothing to control how these Execs run these studios and they should be held accountable when they fuck up to the point that thousands of people lose their job.

I am saying, there is nothing I can do about it. So I just buy the games I think are worth it and hopefully those studios remain healthy and making good games.

It's not our job to worry about layoffs, and the profits of a companies hardware, our job as a gamer is without question to play games.

I welcome comments to this topic, has gaming become a business club.
Most of us started gaming as kids but naturally as you get older the rose tinted glasses start to fade and you start to realize how business decisions shape what happens to the hobby you enjoy. So naturally it does make sense that the conversation around gaming would lean within the business side. Most of the people on this site are older so it makes sense that the conversations would include other aspects of gaming.
