It's been exactly 2 months since Destiny launched - what are your thoughts on it?

Still playing? Traded it in, sold it, or thinking about it?

The game obviously still has issues that need to be addressed: Vault of Glass glitches, class balancing for the Crucible, etc. Despite the game's flaws, people continue to play it regularly (apparently, an average of 3.5 hours per day). Bungie nailed the gunplay down, added in an aspect of loot that will keep people playing, but for how much longer? I've seen people get frustrated at the RNG for this game, another aspect that I think Bungie will need to address.

How would you try to improve the game, GAF?

Also, the Destiny OT already reached its 10th OT today. Dedicated bunch over there.

Forgettable.

Bungie should have been more humble in its marketing and PR, the fallout wouldn't have been as bad if our expectations weren't so damn high.

Was severely disappointed in the story and world, but I ended up playing it because of the loot and upgrade system. Then it went by the wayside once the fall onslaught of games came.

Playing it still but much less often, due to how awful the bugs are and how bungie won't even dignify it's fans with any acknowledgement of them.

I had fun with it, but I'm not into grinding that much. Was also really looking forward to the pvp but there is only like 5 maps.

The wizards came from the moon, and I went back to GameStop.
Traded it in.

I traded it in while Gamestop was still offering $40 back.

I don't necessarily regret the 20 hours spent with it, but it's easily one of the most derivative and least memorable games I've ever played. Everything about it just washed over me and left me feeling remarkably empty inside.

Haven't played for about a month, just got burned out around level 24. The good games kept releasing, and the only thing keeping me on Destiny is grinding for better loot. I HATE the post-20 levelling system. Hate hate hate.

Incredibly fun with really good gameplay and awful story.

Spent 190 hours on it so far which is more than i've ever spent on any game, let alone in such a short space of time. I'm not as addicted as i once was, but still having fun with it when i do play, and i'll probably buy the first DLC.

I've also met some really nice people through Destiny.

Long forgotten and rotting on my shelf. I tried, three times. Way too fucking boring.

I'll be selling it soon before its value totally craters.

I traded it in because it is mediocre.

Got bored a few hours in. Haven't touched it since. Biggest disappointment of the year. Really shook my faith in Bungie.

Forgettable.

Bungie should have been more humble in its marketing and PR, the fallout wouldn't have been as bad if our expectations weren't so damn high.

Colossal waste of time and talent.

A complete letdown.

Yup.

Played to level 27 and got tired of grinding. Haven't played in two weeks.

Still play it, still love it.
I'm not blind to the problems but hey, show me a pefect game.

And imo it's so worth the 60 bucks and I will definitely get at least expansion 1 and 2.

I've played for probably a couple hundred hours.. Haven't played in a few weeks, besides checking what Xur has because Bungie won't fucking let him sell my Praxic Fire.

Probably won't play again until the expansion is out.

Story is trash tier but gunplay is top tier. I pretty much don't like first person shooters as a genre. I can't get into them and they bore me, pretty much no matter what. Borderlands 1, 2, and Destiny are huge, huge exceptions.

Put in over a hundred hours. I thought it was lacking in content after that first ten, and I continue to think so. However, obviously the core gameplay loop is fantastic or I would not have put in that much time.

Destiny 2 better get on it's content/loot game.

Mediocre, glitchy, boring, and highly addictive. The core gunplay is fine IMO, everything else makes me query where the other $490m went.

I don't know if I'm getting the overpriced DLC yet, but I want that flawless raider achievement dammit.

Havent touched it in a month and will probably trade it in for Dragon Age.

A deeply flawed game.

Diablo Loot grind + a COD length single player to grind against = a real bad idea.

the idea of repeating the same missions over and over in order to randomly rank up my gear to allow entey to the only new content post campaign-end, was just a bridge too far. So that was the end.

Fun. I like the gameplay and the epic feel, but the graphics are disappointing. I have it for PS3, but I'll come back when I have a next-gen system. Still debating on whether to get the expansion pack.

I got caught in the Hype and bought it Digitally. Worst mistake ever. I was hoping for this epic sci-fi game and ended up with the same setup over and over again. Oh well lesson learned.

I haven't touched it recently but my brother still plays occasionally I think. We're both going to be distracted by the huge upcoming games though (DA:I, Smash, GTA V). I guess I just stopped finding it enticing. It's a gorgeous game but there was nothing to really keep me there beyond that point. It's a shame too because as someone who loves playing games you always want things to live up to expectations then you realize you just spent $60 on something you could have used on something else. Expectations adjusted for the next time, though.

Very fun, but flawed. I think light armor to level is a fucking waste of my time, like seriously fuck you Bungie for making me not want to play with my friends.

I stopped playing it a few days after hitting 20.

I'll give it a chance with the first DLC, since I'm a sucker and paid for it. But if the DLC is just the same stuff again, I'm out for good.

Fart in the wind put in 30 hour and have the expansion pass which I should probably sell.
The core gameplay is fun but the mindless grind.... Not so much as crucible is terribad

Disappointment of the year. I love the gunplay, visuals, and music, but the "story" is terrible, content is lacking, and RNG in raid rewards is ridiculous. However, I will play the expansions, since I bought the Digital Guardian Edition. But Bungie isn't getting any more of my money unless they seriously fix things.

Play the game with friends every once and a while. Gun play is fun but does not hold me for more the 15-30 minutes. The multiplayer is hot garbage imo.

I like it and still play it some. The gear variety is pretty bad though as is the mission variety. Overall, I think it's a good first entry for the series.

Bitter. Story was nonexistent, but I was alright with most missions first time through. Spent a lot of time getting to level 30 and doing the raid and whatnot. I had issues with the lack of content and the cagey response from Bungie about when things were going to be fixed and added. The piddly DLC reveal was the last nail in the coffin for me. I sold my copy.

It's a shame. I really, really wanted this to be a reliable standby game.

I love it. It still has staying power for me. I probably play between 1-2 hours every day. I love the design, the music, the gunplay... Amazing game. And it really does feel like there's a lot of content after 20. I love getting exotic bounties or legendary drops etc.

I still haven't reached 30 (only completed VOG once) but I'm loving it.

I've played for probably a couple hundred hours.. Haven't played in a few weeks, besides checking what Xur has because Bungie won't fucking let him sell my Praxic Fire.

Probably won't play again until the expansion is out.

Exactly the same here .. only difference is that I will not purchase the Expansion. My mistake was purchasing digital version ( I would have traded it in weeks ago)

I enjoyed the gameplay but the game itself was worthless and pointless. The Multiplayer was the only redeeming part. As to the expansion... fool me once... Bungie will not see another $.01 from me on this.
