It's time again for "Games that need sequels"

So I haven't seen a thread like this in a while and thought what the hey.

Simple thread rules
1 - Please list only 3 games you'd like to see remade
2- suggest a simple reason why it should be done

So there you have it. Here are my suggestions-

Herzog Zwei - We need an update to this, it's style is perfectly suited for a console based RTS. I'd like to see a nice looking 3D engine with online multiplayer of course, make it so there are now 4 sides to the war going on. Red , blue, Green and silver or something, give each side a couple of unique attributes and units or have the option to play through the game on classic mode, where its just Red Vs blue with the same units. Have the original game unlockable just for kicks.

Jet Moto- When singletrac still existed they made 2 buggy but entertaining stunt based racing titles, I want to see a new Jet moto that captures the feel of Jet moto 1 and 2 with current gen graphics and physics , put all 20 tracks from the first 2 games in with updated graphics and 10 new tracks , seeing as how jet moto 3 was awful all around... As far as I know incognito is mostly made up of former singletrac employees so let's get on it guys.

Return Fire- This game did recieve a sequel, that I dont' think much of anyone actually played becuase it only came out for PC. The original was highly entertaining in multiplayer , just driving aroudn and blowing crap up for hours on end looking for a flag. We have the capability with current consoles to increase the scale of that destruction immensly so I want to see it done , keep the game concept simple like the original but make the scale of destruction much much larger.

So those are my suggestions. Have fun guys.

Psi-Ops: Because the original was so kickin' rad.

Starcraft: Just so we can see Starcraft 2, dammit! :-|

Final Fantasy 8: Seriously, why'd they stop making Final Fantasy games at 8?

FUCK SEGA WHERE IS MY BANANA CRAZY

General Chaos, goddammit.

Online multiplayer, and a few more pseudo-RTSish type things added to it would make it tremendous. Squads of four characters on one system could battle online versus other squads of four on huge battlefields...it'd be sweet.

:]

I will say Vagrant Story, even though I'm quite aware that FFXII looks alot like it.

Oh and Jet Set Radio, another game that never got a sequel it deserves.

Final Fantasy Tactics- It needs a REAL sequel on the system for which it was originally made. A PS2 or PS3 sequel (or even a PSP version- hell, they could make a killing by releasing chapters in cheaper installments that would match the four-hour battery life) definitely needs to be made.

Deus Ex. IW was shitty shitty shit.
Beyond Good & Evil. Too short. Want more.
Kickle Cubicle. Because not enough people played it on the NES.

Downhill Domination. Made by Incog Inc. It rocks.

Colony Wars - One of the best console space shooters ever. It would look really nice with next-gen graphics

Starcraft - An RTS, no spinoffs or anything

Nights - Never played the original but it looks fun

Grim Fandango -- I suppose we'll get a spiritual successor to this one with Psychonauts, but I'd love to see this world and characters revisisted. I even have plenty of ideas on how to turn this point-and-click puzzle game into a heady action-adventure.

Warhawk -- An unholy marriage of genres(flight sim/arcade shooter that boiled dogfights and lock-on action down to their most basic(fun) elements. If they updated the visuals for next gen machines, I'd still demand they keep the horribly cheesy full motion video segments.

Conker -- The remake looks fine, but I'm afraid the many pop culture and game references will date the experience for newcomers. I would have liked an all new single player campaign that took as many shots at Nintendo as Dreamworks did Disney with Shrek...

Shadowrun
System Shock
Final Fantasy 4 ( Cover your ears kiddies, you might get scared ... *gasp* in 3D)

Bonus games.

Zelda OO, MM and Wind Waker in 2d.
Metroid Prime, Echoes in 2d.

Colony Wars - One of the best console space shooters ever. It would look really nice with next-gen graphics
wasn't there talk of a new Colony Wars for PSP or PS3 a while ago? I swear SCEE hinted at it.

'Punch Out'
So many good memories

'Ghouls'n'ghost' (in 2d)
Just not so fan of the Maximo franchise.

'Shinobi' (in 2d)
The 3d games are horrible and are not 'Shinobi' at all.

Just a few I can think of.

PowerSlave2

Virtua Racing2

Project OverKill2

Blood Omen 3(overhead view, same puzzles and difficulty once again, better loading though.)

Another Alien licensed side scroller that played like Alien 3 did.

Burning Rangers

NIGHTS

Jet Force Gemini

A direct sequel to Super Mario 64,no water packs or extra characters, just give us an expansion pack of sorts,do not change what isn't broken.

Having the development house -The Collective- concentrate on the beatemUp genre more than ever. They did a fantastic job with their Buffy(the original, not that trashy sequel) and Indy games. I'd welcome sequels to both these franchises,or for these guys to create new IPs in the genre.

The Guardian Legend

Doesn't have to be a sequel, but have the same type of gameplay.
on-rails shooter/action/adventure/rpg

BG&E: One of the most unexpected gems this generation, it leaves gamers on the very edge of a cliff when it ends. To not ever have a closing to this game would just be a huge disappointment, so I hope one day it does get made...

Vagrant Story: One of the best games ever made (imho), a sequel would be beyond awesome. It had a grasp of the cinematic that was frankly years ahead of most videogames, and it actually presented its story in such a way that wasn't cliche. Thank God for creativity.

Secret of Evermore: Ok, yeah, the game itself wasn't that good... I admit. But it's one of those personal things I kind of have always wanted. Because the ending definitely leaves room for it!

1. Star Tropics 3. Star Tropics was one of my favorite NES games. It had some quirky humor, and some need exploration/action mix gameplay, and some fun puzzles (I remember learning to play a scale on the piano because of this game). I never played Star Tropics 2. WOuld love a ST1+2 port for the GBA, followed by a sequal.

2. Ogre Battle Saga Episode I, II, III, of VIII. I don't care if its Tactics of Battle style, just please Square-Enix give Matsuno the time and budget to make another chapter!

3. Vagrant Story II. But after a new Ogre Battle please.

NiGHTS: Predictable, maybe, but needed.

FF VII: I want an honest to god, turn based follow up with all the right music and bells and whistles and shit.

Paradroid: If anything deserves an update it's this game. Make it multiplayer too and I will die with pleasure.

Beyond Good & Evil - I just want a bigger, badder sequel.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours - What this generation is lacking is a giant killer baby.

Body Harvest 64 - Precursor to GTA3, blasting giant aliens beats killing hookers for me anyday. Suffered from hardware limitations that shouldn't be problems now.

Diablo 3 - I know some members have said it is coming, but I won't believe it till I see pics.

A 2D castlevania for consoles - The recent GBA ones were nice, but felt like a step back from SOTN. Hoping the NDS castlevania has at least SOTN level graphics and animation (if it's 2D).

DOAX2 - Cause I'm perverted and not ashamed of it. Doesn't have to be volleyball either. How about doa pool or doa golf? :D

Gitaroo Man (PS2)
-2002 GOTY
-Best rhythm game, period.
-God it needs a sequel.
-~MOJO MOJO MOJO KING BEE~

Freespace 2 (PC)
-It still looks amazing.
-It still plays amazing.
-It has a huge cliffhanger ending. (Hey Valve and Bungie: this is how you do a cliffhanger ending, kthnx)
-It's very difficult to buy at non-collector's rates.

- New Banjo Kazooie

- A Baldur’s gate squeal, or at least a new forgotten relams rpg that doesn’t suck

- Jet force gemni

Beyond the Beyond: Super button mash edition!

Sorry couldnt possible list only 3, so I went for funny instead.

Ranger X 2 or Burning Rangers 2 - Both were awesome and would do well with overhauls (especially Burning Rangers). Plus they might find an audience next time around.

Plus Ducktales 3 since the first one is so damn good and we haven't had a really good Disney platfromer in forever.

Actually, there was a Strider 2 for the PSone. It wasn't too bad.
