Regardless, Fatumi, the fact that Squeenix felt the need to fall back on the crutch of the effeminate man-child main character has doomed the game for me. I understand that is what is appealing in Japan, and that is the market that must be appeased for FF games to succeed, but I do not appreciate the continued cliched characters that Square recycles for it's games. I initially had very high hopes for FF XII, but when I saw the main character most of them died.

I read somewhere a few months ago that Matsuno-san created FFXII with the aim of making Balflear the lead character, (there's some Ashley Riot in him); yet the suits said "Nope, create a fem-bot for the lead role. I like swords. Give him one of those to wield. Yup."

I'm still not quite sure why he doesn't call their bluff; they don't really have much high-profile talent left from the Square side of the company any more to take over...

Doesn`t this game have real time fighting, like Shenmue? None of that menu crap bullshit fighting like in most lame japanese RPG`s? How in the fucking hell can people like that crap? It`s torture to play that shit.

The only thing I don`t like is that this Jade Empire seems to use magic crap. That sucks.
