They can't ignore it completely. They just announced last week a new GAAS studio build from the people booted from Bungie. The LFG. That will make frog type of games, whatever this shit means.
They didnt learn shit.

Sony's gaming division consistently makes about $2B profit. It topped out at $3B during covid, but even now with first party sales few and far between, the big drive in mtx and digital sales cuts still leads them to big profits.Well people have been saying this for lucasfilm/disney for 10 years now.. and they have infinity fucks to give with no signs of stopping that madness.
Maybe just maybe we find Sony in the same situation.. they dont give a fuck.. they just want the zilionaire gaas market and have zero fucks to give about us sony fans crying for betterr times.
Disney can afford to have those losses. Sony can't.Well people have been saying this for lucasfilm/disney for 10 years now.. and they have infinity fucks to give with no signs of stopping that madness.

Yes, Destiny 2, Helldivers 2, Gran Turismo 7 and MLB The Show (21-25) are very successful. Concord and (VR game) Firewall Ultra weren't successful.4 of them successful? You only named 1 bud. MLB and GT arent part of it since those games have been there for ages. Destiny doesn't count either.
Jim Ryan said in an interview, I think from 2021 (shortly after announcing the 12 IPs with GaaS initiative) that they were planning to around double their first party revenue in five years, so by 2026.They are clearly having to address the situation. They can't afford to just double down and hope for the best
Sony Interactive Entertainment is having record profit, revenue and active userbase among many other metrics and are growing in console, PC and movie/tv show adaptations.Disney can afford to have those losses. Sony can't.
They are facts based in objective data, not denial.
Maybe she had a 3 years retention bonus, and once completed got poached by somebody else (like Tencent or Microsoft) to build and lead another AAA studio as usual.Wonder why is she leaving

These are 6 released ones of their initiative of planned 12 IPs with GaaS titles.
Marathon, Fairgames, Horizon Online or the 'gummybears' project are four of the WIP ones that still aren't released. If they are GaaS, Convallaria, the Dark Outlaw Games title and Midnight Murder Club would complete the list of 12 IPs.
Some got pitched and not greentlighted, as usual also with non-GaaS too. A few got cancelled before release, as usual also with non GaaS too.
Jim Ryan said in an interview, I think from 2021 (shortly after announcing the 12 IPs with GaaS initiative) that they were planning to around double their first party revenue in five years, so by 2026.
Seems they are achieving it a year ahead of schedule, and doing it by posting the biggest profits for a FY that SIE ever had.
Sony Interactive Entertainment is having record profit, revenue and active userbase among many other metrics and are growing in console, PC and movie/tv show adaptations.
The previous generation kicked out Nintendo out of the home console market, and this one is kicking out Xbox.
Their first party games are making around twice the revenue they did 5 years ago part of it because of their successful expansion to PC and GaaS. They are selling more games (in general, 1st+3rd party) for their consoles than ever. Their game sub is posting record revenue, their accesories are making record revenue etc.
SIE is not only the top grossing company in gaming, this fiscal year they also made more profit than Nintendo.
They are facts based in objective data, not denial.
I don't understand either... her only asset seems to be that she's "hot" by the definition of some...
How does she keep getting comfy high paying jobs?
Well, I think he's very talented (I shared beers with him once) but after leaving AC, all he released was a game with monkeys that nobody bought and cared about.I've said it for years and it's still true till this day. Patrice Desilets was the true talent and will always be
I know, you prefer to believe they are doomed even if all the factual data says the opposite:
She is an industry legend.
I don't know if there's somebody else in the industry who has created more successful AAA teams than her. First built and lead teams at Ubisoft Montreal (now Ubisoft largest studio), then she created from scratch and lead Ubisoft Toronto (Ubisoft's 2nd largest studio) and overviewed Ubi's new IPs, then got hired by EA where created and leaded Motive (secondarily and overviewed Visceral and Popcap because were in very bad shape), then got hired by Google to lead the 1st party games of Stadia (got shut down before being able to ship the first internal game), then in 3 months had Haven running and with a AAA signed by Sony and sold it in less than a year.
She created multiple AAA studios very quickly, who have been known for being very productive, she scaled them quickly to become multi-team studios and that released dozens of top selling AAA games, including top performing GaaS or multiple record breaking new IPs.
Ah well, some of these projects (like AC, Watchdogs or Battlefront II) where sent to her as a different project that was being made by somebody else and was a mess almost going to be cancelled. She -and her team- not only saved it, but turned them into record breaking products.
In addition to lead AAA teams who worked in tons of very successful games -including multiple new IPs or rebooted IPs like Rainbow Six Siege or Splinter Cell Blacklist- some of the years she was executive producer at Ubisoft she also had a position related to overview new IPs of the company or something like that. This was when they worked in the super successful The Division, The Crew or For Honor or some games that didn't sell a shit but were beloved like Child of Light, Valiant Hearts or Grow Home.
Pretty likely she's the person who build more record breaking new IP AAA teams in the industry.
And builds AAA studios from scratch very quickly, teams known for being very productive, to release many big seller stuff and that scale up to become multi-team studios very quickly.
Something very difficult and that very little amount of people did, and even less that fast. This is why top companies go to hire her in top positions, not for being hot. There are tons of hot women in the industry, but don't have this CV and skills.
P.S.: She isn't a game designer or creative director. She started as programmer (way before joining Ubisoft), but quickly moved to become a producer (in the back then very innovative and successful The Sims Online, and later in Ubisoft in games like AC and others), and later became an executive producer and studio head. As producer / executive producer / studio head (roles of whey she is known) she builds, leads and manages teams, doesn't decide how the specifics of games are. Not the same roles.

Legendary pics.Industry legend meaning her being present for the whole development cycle is mostly a legend...
She use hero light like aloy in forbidden west.Legendary pics.
Only exec I've ever seen in a giant group photo to stand front and centre with a 5 ft radius around them hogging the spotlight.
Yep. She might not be great at the creative, but her role is typically that of a high-level organizer, and if that's how her performance is judged... She'll continue to be employed in similar roles. She is an industry legend.

She indeed was, nowadays tho, she went down from solid 8 to below avg, but no wonder, she was born in 1975, she will be fucken 50 in 4 months xD
Edit: interview from 3years ago so she was 46yo, her face still looks good, but since she is pretty rich no idea if/how much and what kind of work she has done on her, nowadays its so hard to tell, still i stand corrected, at least in that interview at 46yo she was above avg look at face altho huge difference vs her younger self,
Just quick comparision to her youthful self:

For a lot of games out there releasing last year, now or soon is that Covid and Floyd tainted media. Covid had people indoors and scared of germs so any products boosted being at home (tech, certain consumer goods, heck even puzzles and board games ran out). So tech companies amped up on more employees trying to cash in. And GAAS would be one of the things that surely cashed in. And you can tell because most of those tech companies actually went up when a lot of others sunk like a rock (I think travel companies got nailed the worst). Then the other part of gaming which stemmed from Floyd and BLM was a massive push in media for diversity and the black community.Yep. She might not be great at the creative, but her role is typically that of a high-level organizer, and if that's how her performance is judged... She'll continue to be employed in similar roles.
The reality is that all these GaaS projects were green-lit around the same time, and as a result their creative direction was coloured by what was believed then to be the most likely to prove successful. In the intervening years I doubt anyone would argue that the social and political landscape has shifted massively bringing audience tastes along with it.
I've been stressing for awhile now that one of the greatest dangers corporate dev is facing these days is the sheer length and expense of modern production cycles making them inflexible, and therefore vulnerable to shifts in audience tastes and market conditions. Turning around an oil-tanker is not a quick and easy operation, and that's essentially what these multi-million dollar projects are.
Ofc, but with age comes getting more ugly, for women especially since they cant make it up with status/wealth/competence/education/carrier/being charismatic/funny etc, since we- men look at totally different things for attractionCmon dude. People age. If i was 50 and she was my wife I'd wake up happy every day. From the looks department anyway.
Exactly this. People here have some abnormal standards.Cmon dude. People age. If i was 50 and she was my wife I'd wake up happy every day. From the looks department anyway.

Sony doomed ? Lol.. fuck no.. they are the market leader in a basically no competition place right now.. they are far and far away from doomed. She is an industry legend.

Sony doomed ? Lol.. fuck no.. they are the market leader in a basically no competition place right now.. they are far and far away from doomed.
The only thing doomed right now is my future with the Playstation brand since I really dont care about the direction they are going. But this is a personal preference nothing more.
Fanboy cope and lies. Sony are in dire straits!Let's see if their PlayStation brand is doomed:
Nothing leads to think that the brand is doomed. Everything points to the opposite: their existing fans are more engaged than ever and they are growing their fanbase.
- They are making more revenue and profit than ever, and in a multi year growth pattern
- They have a bigger console active userbase than ever thanks to an influx of new to PSN players, which is in a multi year growth pattern
- Their first party games make more money than ever, which is in a multi year growth pattern
- Their game sub for consoles is the most popular one, generates more money than ever in a multi year pattern
- 4 of the 5 last years they broke their own sales records with new first party games
- Almost every year they are the company with more GOTY candidate games and frequently have the game with more GOTY awards of the year
- They make in their console more money per player than ever
- The previous generation kicked out Nintendo out of the home console business, and this one are kicking out Xbox. So the home console market will be pretty much for them
- Their accesories (gamepads, PSVR, PS Player) make more money than ever, in a multi year trend
- The movie/tv show adaptations of their first party IP games keep being very successful
As I remember the only studio head who left in recent years was the SSM one because got hired by Netflix, I assume with a very nice paycheck. So pathetic. How many times has this happened with Sony the last few years?
Their first party games now make every year around twice the money they did half a decade ago. The main difference is that they expanded their GaaS and off-PS businesses. They wanna strike it rich with 1st party gaas. It's not happening.
She did stop being a game producer like 15 years ago, to become an executive and studio head. As such, she built and leaded different AAA studios and teams known for being very productive and succesful.Show of hands on who thought jade was gonna produce anything. It's been vaporware for years.

Nah. They may lose you if they ever had you, but if it's the case will be replaced by new users.
Yes.So you want Sony to go back to making console games exclusively, pretending that costs aren't through the roof and forgetting all other platforms?
"Microsoft still gets the moneeeeey!!!"PC initiative is not wrong for them. It gives them some extra bucks.
She did stop being a game producer like 15 years ago, to become an executive and studio head. As such, she built and leaded different AAA studios and teams known for being very productive and succesful.
If something you're the one taking drugs, and have no fucking idea about her career, the productivity of her teams and the performance of their games.Where do you get your drugs dude? Or is this Jade's burner account?
"AAA studios known for being productive & successful"
LMFAO:
You can stand down bro
- Last big game at Ubi was AC Unity (oof)
- Started Motive at EA, put out ONE game before she left (Battlefront II and the MTX disaster)
- Went to head Stadia's internal studio, produced nothing before it closed after 3 years
- Started Haven, left before shipping anything
This list is very incomplete, lacks some games where worked as executive producer, but specially the ones where worked as studio head of Ubisoft Toronto or Motive, or as (this is separate from games where she worked as executive producer of the games themselves, also includes games where Toronto didn't work or did it as support team) Executive Producer responsible for New IP at Ubisoft. Some of them published before she left, some other ones after she left.Jade Raymond has been credited as a producer or executive producer on the following shipped games, based on available information:
They should announce her replacement. Who's taking over her?
If something you're the one taking drugs, and have no fucking idea about her career, the productivity of her teams and the performance of their games.
Her team came to Battlefront II to support and save it because during development was a mess. Her team had nothing to do with MP or microtransactions (that was Criterion): Motive worked instead on its SP campaign instead. The game sold over 9M copies on first month (a lot, even if EA expected 10M).Oh that's my bad; let's review the last decade:
Please, tell me more! Also, saw you trying to give credit for the DS Remake, which came out 5 years after she left. Maybe she greenlit that project but that's about it
- Battlefront II, very big release for EA that they called "rock bottom"
- The great games that Visceral put out after she was at the helm (just kidding, studio never made another game)
- The great output from Stadia?
- Or certified banger that will be Fairgame$ that she definitely didn't just get fired from

Her team at that time, Motive, was also working in Star Wars Squadrons, Dead Space remake and a new IP that was cancelled. She was tasked there to create, grow and lead Motive, and also overview Popcap an Visceral. In case of Visceral, because their projects at the time were a mess and a couple had been cancelled and had two more that were in a rough spot too because in addition to this, EA was moving away from SP only games / focusing almost only in MP games.
Tried important hirings for a Star Wars game they were doing and rebooted it, but wasn't enough because EA dedided to cancel both games and shut down the studio and had a tense relationship with the licensors or the Star Wars IP (they later lost its exclusivity for videogames).
In Stadia she was in charge of the first (which includes second) party games. Published several 2nd party games, but didn't have enough time to publish their first game because EA shutted the team down because was starting to shut down Stadia.
That team had 3 pitches/projects in super early stages that when they moved away to create Haven Sony wanted to sign all 3, but Haven decided to grow more slowly and sign only one. 3 months after leaving Google she had the new studio founded and the game signed by Sony (Fairgames).
Time later the team got praised for the internal framework / tools they built ('studio in the cloud' concept) that was helping them to be specially productive (got also praised because the game was ahead of schedule), to reduce costs and better adapt to remote work.
So she is a producer who can't produce? She's had a failing record at each stop yet keeps getting chances. Seems like she shows up, rocks boats, and doesn't come away with a finished project. Also some really bad chooses of employment; is that because they were bad teams or did she make them worse? Her team came to Battlefront II to support and save it because during development was a mess. Regarding Dead Space remake, I don't know if publicly mentioned, but the original idea of the EA heads was to make at Visceral (but Visceral got shut down in 2017, so Motive was who ended doing it). And also their idea of the EA hwads was to put microtransactions/lootboxes in the remake, something she didn't like and caused important arguments. She left late 2018, the remake (rebuilt from scratch in Frostbite, wasn't a quick remaster job) got publicly announced mid 2021, around two and a half years later.
She was personally really pasionate about the Stadia concept, she is a nerd fan of very futuristic tech and stuff like Star Wars/Star Trek/etc. so I assume she didn't went there just because the insane paycheck I assume that she got offered to become SVP of Google.
It shows us only one thing- she was babysit hard at ubi, other ppl did her job and she was just posterchild coz of her looks, as soon as she had to perform on her own she failed miserably.Jade Raymond has been credited as a producer or executive producer on the following shipped games, based on available information:
1. The Sims Online (2002) - Producer at Electronic Arts.
2. Assassin's Creed (2007) - Producer at Ubisoft Montreal.
3. Assassin's Creed II (2009) - Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal.
4. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines (2009) - Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal.
5. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist (2013) - Executive Producer at Ubisoft Toronto.
6. Watch Dogs (2014) - Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal.
7. The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot (2014) - Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal.
8. Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) - Motive Studio contributed to development under EA, though Raymond's direct role is less clear as she was not the lead producer.
This totals 8 shipped games where Jade Raymond had a producer or executive producer credit. Note that since leaving Ubisoft in 2014, her roles at EA's Motive Studio, Google Stadia, and Haven Studios did not result in any shipped games under her direct production credits, as projects either did not reach completion or she departed before release. For example, Haven Studios' Fairgames is still in development and has not shipped as of May 2025.
yurinka
Thanks for the info.
If what you are saying is true, then yes she sounds like a really talented producer.
I've been undermining her role a lot these days, but of course without any real knowledge of her activities and achievements in the industry.
It could explain why big companies are making moves to get her with them.
To the rest of the posters who just reply to yurinka with ironic comments / gifs, come one, at least make some effort and provide arguments.
Someone actually competent?
She is to Assassins Creed what Kathleen Kennedy is to Star Wars.
You have no idea. She was a game producer until 2009.So she is a producer who can't produce? She's had a failing record at each stop yet keeps getting chances. Seems like she shows up, rocks boats, and doesn't come away with a finished project. Also some really bad chooses of employment; is that because they were bad teams or did she make them worse?
Either way she's dead weight and an empty suit. Just like Hulst who has shown he can't lead SIE. The video game industry is overflowing with nepotism, just look at gafs favorite spooge queen alanah pierce. She keeps fail upwards too with no resume to show for it. She didn't do anything while employed by an actual video game company.
These people are parasites
