The Dragon Gate USA iPPV was pretty good - I enjoyed Del Sol vs Saito and Chuck Taylor vs EITA and am glad to see Chuck being booked as a threat again, plus Davis vs Drake was absolutely brutal. Wasn't too keen on Gargano vs Kendrick, and I don't think Callihan had one of his best matches against Susumu, but the main event of Tozawa & AR Fox vs The Young Bucks was good fun. It kind of turned in to a singles match between Tozawa and Nick Jackson at the end when the other guys brawled to the back, which helped things in my opinion as up to that point I was certain we'd get the usual Young Bucks screwy finish. Tozawa continues to be awesome, definitely my favourite wrestler from the Japanese side of the roster, other than maybe Yamato, or Shingo Takagi if they ever manage to get him over for an extended run of shows.
I enjoyed the show, but it wasn't as good as last night's. Who do you think they bring over for Gargano? I'm hoping it's Shingo but he'll probably steamroll through both of his opponents. I honestly don't see anywhere for him to go with the belt in 2013.

Kwee Wee vs Corporal Cajun
Paisley is on color with her future brother in law. The thing with Kwee Wee is that Alan Funk is actually pretty good in the ring, but that stupid gimmick doomed him for the rest of his career. Kwee Kee was going to fight all the MIA. He didn't give a FUCK. Lash ends up getting slapped by Paisley. Lash hits a Dick Murdock style brainbuster on accident. Stevie repeatedly calls the man as Kiwi and has to be corrected every time so WCW won't get sued by SNL/NBC. Kwee Wee wins with his sitout flap jack thing.
TO THE BACK. Kevin Nash has arrived. The two YAKS are still brawling and have to be pulled apart by the men. The entire thing is muted. Ms. Jones issues Lance his paper work stating he will be in a triple threat against Mike Awesome and General Boner later tonight. The sound is again off by 20 seconds. How is it that only the Thunders in the pack have this problem?
The Natural Born Thrillers come to the ring for a promo. Nexus .05 needs a Wade Barrett for a promo man. Bragging for a while until the Filthy Animals come out. Konnan makes dick jokes. They let Disco talk. Vito attacks the NBT from behind with his stick ball bat. They get the better of him until the Animals hit the ring. Disco vs Mike Sanders will happen later tonight.
TO THE BACK. Booker tells Vito he's crazy for taking on 5 guys on his own. He then asks for Vito to be his partner later tonight. Mike Sanders is in Cat's office, stooging off Disco. What the fuck, he's wearing a different shirt and the booking of their match was set up. Clearly this was supposed to air before the in ring segment that just happened. Crowbar is practicing in the mirror what he's going to say to Daffney. She comes in and she tells him about her date with her secret admirer.
The Jung Dragons vs The Harris Brothers
Tony says "Chuck Palumbi". How hard is it to remember Palumbo? Fuck this shit. The Harris Boys are one of the biggest mysteries in wrestling history to me. They're terrible, yet had a 4 year run in the WWF, 2 year run in WCW that probably would have lasted forever if the buyout hadn't happened, were a big part of the first year of TNA, and then were brought back a few years later. How did they keep getting work? What terrible secrets did they have on Russo? They win with an H-Bomb. Kronik come out after the match and it is on like Donkey Kong. Leia Meow comes out and tells the Dragons to follower her. She hasn't been on TV since January.
TO THE BACK. Elix says he's got a plan to help Lance. Norman is with SMOOV. Smoov suggests they have a hardcore I Quit match so Smoov can win the belt and Norman can get rid of it.
Crowbar vs Reno
Crowbar is sad. Daffney is happy. It's like poetry. It is announced that David and Stacy will have their wedding on September 11th. Talk about a bad omen. This is boring. Vader Bomb off the guardrail on the floor. Reno kicks out of a DVD. Daffney's secret admirer comes out. He looks just like Crowbar. Crowbar is distracted and gets pinned after a Roll of the dice.
TO THE BACK. Nash and Chuck talk strategy. Booker gets pumped up while Vito reads the paper. Vito plays stick ball to warm up. He challenges Booker to a stick ball match. Chavo asks Cat for a match against Disco where Disco will get fired if he loses. As discussed earlier, Cat can't fire Disco. He's looked into it. Tank fires 3 Count and is keeping their recording contract. They have one last obligation, which is a match against the Dark Carnival.
TO THE INTERVIEW. Tenay interviewed Midajah in her home. She goes over her credentials and has been training at the Power Plant. Tenay makes some kind of "women are just eye candy" comment, which Midajah doesn't appreciate. She doesn't like the idea that women are just good to be out there looking hot and it is insulting to talk down to her. Mike Tenay is an asshole. He says if she had taken the Playboy offer, she wouldn't be in a neck brace at home. She brings up that when he interviewed Scott and Scott was choking him, she saved Tenay. Tenay says she saved Steiner from larger fines. "I've heard this all before. I am woman hear me roar." *rolls eyes*. Holy shit, Tenay. Stop being such a prick. "Good luck to you and your future in sports entertainment, honey, cuz you're gonna need it." What an asshole. So random.
TO THE BACK. Booker and Vito are playing stick ball. The NBT attack, but don't realize that both men have fucking weapons to fight them off with. Norman is walking in the back when he finds himself surrounded by the Dark Carnival. Muta hits him in the throat.

Tank takes the whole group out by himself, but 3 Count attack him with baseball bats. Muta wins with the moonsault. SWERVE.

MI SMOOTH vs Norman Smiley Hardcore I Quit Match WCW Hardcore Championship
Smoov comes out to what sounds like a JHV of a random Santana song and dances to the ring. Smoothly. The bell rings and Norman drops to the mat, but he can't talk. SMOOV loses his patience and starts attacking for real. ACK! MI SMOOTH is an anagram for Smoot Him. SMOOV wears his pants well above his belly button.
SMOOV is yelling at Norman to say I Quit and Slick counts that as Smoov quitting. Norman retains the title he doesn't want.
TO THE BACK. Elix is on the phone outside of Awesome's locker room. He says that Rection's red white and blue shit is all a ruse and he's really on Team Canada's side. Gene talks to Cat in his office. Gene is trying to get Disco fired. Cat says he can't, so Gene offers him a year supply of viagra and a stack of cash. But Cat still can't fire Disco.
Tygress is now at the booth. Tony asks Tenay about his behavior in the Midajah interview. Mike says that she has a place in pro wrestling, and it is on the arm of Scott Steiner. They ask Tygress what she's doing out there since Rey's match isn't up next. She got mixed up. Is it cool if she stays out there anyway? Tony says sure and Tenay gives an angry bird look.
Paisley vs Major Gunns
"What's the deal with everyone wanting Disco out of here all the sudden?" Chops to the cannon balls. Handspring elbow with authority. Tenay gives shit to Tygress for getting involved. I can't wait for someone to beat his ass. Stevie Ray asks why all the YAKS can't stay out of the way. Tenay agrees. Tygress jumps on the apron and punches Gunns. Paisley wins with a roll up and they celebrate together. This was apparently premeditated. I thought the Animals were faces now?
TO THE BACK. The Filthy Animals were in Cat's office trying to get Disco fired. They come out of the office to find a line of people 200 deep waiting on the news. They're disappointed Disco didn't get fired and head bad to work. Prime Time tells Lance the plan has worked. "How about that DOUBLE SWERVE, from Skipper?"
Disco Inferno vs Mike Sanders
Disco sends the Animals to the back because he can handle this on his own. SWERVE and DOUBLE SWERVE as said again. Disco hits the most amazing Russian leg sweep I've ever seen. How do you botch that move?
He hit the Chart Buster, but the NBT attacked the Animals on the stage and by the time he got back to the match, Sanders had his foot on the rope. 3.0 gives Sanders the win.
TO THE BACK. Paula interviews Chuck. Nash gives him shit for not taking out Booker. SHOOT LEGIT HEAT!
Lance Storm vs Mike Awesome vs General Hard Jizzer Canadian Championship
SWERVE. Again. Lance says he may have misjudged the Americans. Al Gore wanted socialized health care, less guns on the streets, and some other stuff. That made Lance realize the real American Dream is trying to be Canada. He then tries to get the crowd to renounce their citizenship and become the 11th province. The Fat Chick Thriller stuff is done I guess. Awesome and Hugh immediately argue only to both attack Lance. TRIPLE SWERVE! "The mighty Canadian SWERVE didn't work tonight!" Elix comes out. He punches Hugh with his Gray Cup ring on. Lance puts on the Maple Leaf as Elix keeps Awesome from interfering. Lance wins before Awesome can break up the hold.
Stevie Ray excuses himself because he can't keep his emotions in check when his brother is out there.
Kevin Nash/Chuck Palumbo vs Big Vito/Booker T
Chuck comes out to Mr. Perfect's music. That's kind of weird since he was stealing Luger's gimmick and had different solo music anyway, which was also different from the NBT music. Jeff Jarrett comes out before the match. He's on color. Of course. God forbid WCW only have two commentators. Vito comes out alone and picks a fight with both guys before Booker comes out. It's nice that they're trying to elevate Vito, but I'm not really a fan of his. But he is over. My attention level is completely dead. Jeff and Nash double team Booker and the NBT attack Vito.

It definitely made more sense in my mind for Davis to beat Gargano for the belt and put him out of action, then 2013 for Gargano could have been about him out for revenge against Davis. As for who they bring over, he's already gone through Yamato, Tozawa & Yoshino, so I'd probably guess Shingo or BxB Hulk.
Either they're not ready to pull the trigger on Davis, or he gets the Evolve belt. I feel like Davis has been penned in for the Evolve title since Low Ki left for New Japan. The feud with Gargano was probably a test run for him in main events.
