These sakanaction music videos hyped me. I was a bit disappointed about the b-side and remix compilation announcement and expected a full new release after the break.

I like the last the telephones album so far. I'ts not their best album but i didn't expect that at all. Thank you DISCO!!! "When The Zombies Come" is now on repeat.

Loving the telephones's album. Like you just said it's not their best (Rock Kingdom is imo) but I can't say a single bad thing about it, it's really solid.

Favorite release of the week is BLUE ENCOUNT's first major album, ≒ (Nearly Equal). I'm so into this band right now, kept listening to their previous albums for a week, I'm a big fan now... High energy, catchy melodies... Love it.

Other stuff I bought this week in addition of these two albums are :
UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's DUGOUT ACCIDENT. It's a special album for their 10th anniversary. It has unpublished tracks, new recordings, a couple of b-sides... Great tracklist.

Kyuso Nekokami's first single. Not much to say, they're always excellent.

Sasanomaly's second album, a nice surprise. His first one was pretty good but this one is even better. Love the electronic/glitchy universe with a sort of bittersweet tone to it, definitely has a cool atmosphere.

New Moumoon song: cocoon

Pretty different from their usual stuff but I still like it. Nice video too.

Should be their most electronic song to date.

A collabo with for example Shinichi Osawa could be interesting. He remixed moumoon tracks before. Although they were not that good.

I dont mention Yasutaka Nakata because he seems so uninspired lately. :[

This rumoured Crystal Kay featuring Namie single better turn out to be true cus I'm very hyped for it

Hmm, so this is being hinted at via some tweets. It seems like it could be from extras in a music video shoot. Seems way too early for Namie to release a new song (though her tour is about to start) or for Crystal who has a single release almost two months ago now. I don't know if CK being on a bit of a slump popularity-wise makes her more or less likely to make this true.

Apparently there's another SCANDAL Rolling Stone cover:

They also did a photo shoot recently where they cosplayed as reimagined Disney villains:

Also, even though 『Stamp!』 just came out yesterday they've already announced their next single 『Sisters』 for a September 9th release.

Happy to see them doing well, having followed them for over 8 years.

^ That Rolling Stone cover is rather splendid

Crystal has a single planned for a September release so details should be out in a week or two. But yeah, it's a bit early for Namie with the album just released , she normally releases something towards the end of a tour which makes me question whether the rumour is legit. Crystal will deliver an R&B jam and I really want Namie in on that :(

This was posted in the Jazz-Hop & Instrumental Hip-Hop thread already, but cross-posting because it's now out and that good.

.

Its good new for some of us who just get the albums. I only recognise 3 tracks of that album so its basically a new album at this point. Really excited!

also a new album is coming sooner than later, they have already released 3 singles which means that a new album is just around the corner.
For reference, they released 4 singles for Sakanaction before the album dropped so...

That new Good Morning America is weak, I'll see if the other tracks are as good as their previous songs before I get excited.

Also new Wrong City EP later this month. HELLL YEAH! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV21cAgcDVk

Forgot to post the info, Awesome City Club will release their second mini-album, Awesome City Tracks 2, on September 16th. Loved their major debut mini-album so I'm really hyped. They have a lot of potential.

Aaah too much stuff coming, I'm so excited. Next week is MONOEYES's album and SEKAI NO OWARI's single.
Then in two weeks we're getting new releases by androp, KANA-BOON, PELICAN FANCLUB, Buzzmothers, Straightener, SHISHAMO, Kuusou Waltz, WOMCADOLE, Base Ball Bear, Sakanaction. The week after it's Good Morning America, back number and Fishlife...
2015 is just too good.

So, Amuse Group USA site just launched. There's a "coming soon" on the store tab. I immediately sent an email requesting Perfume shirts, Blu-Rays, and other merchandise. The links for artists go straight to the .jp sites, but its a start.

Just asking the experts here:
Are there some good bands in the style of School Food Punishment (especially songs like You May Crawl and Turn), Toe or Delofamilia. Rip Slyme is also pretty good.
Basically, more "serious" sounding music with some jazz/prog/postrock-influence.

The singer from SFP is on la la larks, they sound basically like SFP 2 but they haven't released a lot of stuff. Maybe Negoto?

For toe and delofamilia, there's LITE, COgeNdshE, tricot, and rega that I can think of right now.

You could actually start by listening to some of the former band members of School Food Punishment's new band La La Larks, there is also Spangle Call Lillie Line to consider if you want a mix of Post-Rock, Shoegaze, Electronica and minimal progressive.

Loving SHIT HAPPENING's latest song
https://youtu.be/79gjI7mp_lc
Never really paid attention to them before, that was a mistake. The new generation of punk bands is pretty good, I wasn't a huge fan of the genre before but between 04 Limited Sazabys, SHIT HAPPENING, WANIMA and My Hair is Bad I keep discovering great stuff.

[Alexandros] aren't there though (there's the promo thingy for their album), it's Straightener's vocalist Horie Atsushi on the far left (pic 3 and 4).
There's also ART-SCHOOL vocalist Kinoshita Riki (dude with the sunglasses, far right).

just a little more time is definitely my favorite song

I think グラニート is my favorite song from MONOEYES's album. It's been 5 years since Hosomi's last song with Japanese lyrics so it's a pleasure... Definitely a wonderful album... Still sad I couldn't get a ticket for their show in Shibuya :( They cost like 50.000 yen now, no way I'm paying this much, resellers are crazy haha

Saw that a few days ago, bet it will be an amazing show. Can't believe it'll be over after this... :( Well, they're not against doing a comeback apparently but I'm sure we'll have to wait at least 5 years.
Losing ART-SCHOOL and the telephones this year is pretty tough, two of my favorite bands ever...
I'll try to get a ticket for the UKFC show in Tokyo on August 19th. the telephones, ORANGE RANGE, BIGMAMA and Kyuso Nekokami are performing, should be great.
And if I can't go Bentham, September Me and Brian the Sun are doing a 3-man live the same day so yaay
