^ Man that sounds really great. I need that song at 1:40 right now.
So happy that there's a new Soutaiseiriron album next week and new Death Grips the week after that, two of the releases I've been looking forward to the most this year.

Tell me which upcoming concerts in Tokyo I should go to. I'm starting to get a bit more free time (and a bit more money).

No other recommendations besides Kurita? I don't know that I wanna see any of those bands very bad. I saw Bigmama and go go vanillas already, too.

For the ones from today, the ones that seems interesting to me (aka I would try to go) are:
ATLANTIS AIRPORT, 赤い公園, ゲスの極み乙女。, ヒトリエ, Manhole New World and geek sleep sheep

I just bought a pre-order ticket to see Cocco live in a couple of months. Literally one of the first Japanese artists I got into many years ago, and my first Japanese live show in nearly a decade. Can't wait! Should start going to more concerts now that I'm in Tokyo.

New Order is apparently playing not too far from me next month, but 10,000 yen is too much for low tier standing tickets. :/
I think I may try to see クウチュウ戦 this weekend.
hey, I gave suggestions :(

that Boris/Merzbow show will probably be pretty goddamn good
Oh! I didn't click the links. Thanks! I think that Boris show could be really awesome. I'll check it out!

I really want to see Hitorie, but that night's no good for me. Dammit. I'll look into the other shows!

So KPP is playing 2 US shows this year:
22 July 2016: Regency Ballroom in San Francisco
25 July 2016: Playstation Theater in New York City
and World Order is playing at the SF Jpop summit this year as well.

I have to admit that the new Have a Nice Day! best/compilation is looking like a contender for my year end list. if it even counts. and that's even though I've already bought alternate versions of most of these songs before. I think I've bought 4 separate releases with フォーエバーヤング on it.

I guess they're re-releasing Dystopia Romance too which is great since I can't find a damn copy of it. Virgin Babylon doing god's work as usual.

e: oh dang, here's a newish youtube channel with some decent live show uploads of Oyasumi Hologram, NDG, Have a Nice Day, Koutei Camera Gal (some songs I haven't heard here)

Can't wait to find out when tickets are gonna go on sale. Saw her when she performed at Union Square and it was awesome. The missus is going crazy between KYARY PAMYU PAMYU and Perfume coming here to SF.

Have I posted about Tokyo Active NEETs before?
AfterSP01-17.jpg

They do a lot of Touhou music covers (mostly Jazz), and they're quite phenomenal. The most recent upload was an orchestral cover as Koukyou Active NEETs, and I'm pretty amazed. For highlights, I'd go to 1:16 for the piano solo, 2:05 for another great part, as well as the fantastic crescendo that's very horn-heavy at around 3:18. Really wonderful track.

Another great track was their recent Kankore Jazz cover. I'm pretty unfamiliar with all the otaku games like Kankore and Touhou, but the Touhou music community in Japan is fucking incredible.

Kashiwa Daisuke's new album came out today.

Had to go pretty far out of my way to pick it up, but it was worth it.

it's also up on bandcamp. I'll pick it up sometime. sounds good.

Kuroneko no Yuuutsu and Shoujo Kakka no International both have new singles coming out on Trash-Up!!, no release dates yet

Milky Way will be releasing a re-recorded version of Cassette Tape and Cutter Knife on June 15. apparently it's a cassette tape that comes with a digital download code lol

Finally made it to Osaka this weekend. Of course the main thing I wanted to do was hit the NMB48 theater and shop.

We bought three of those shirts lol. My friend who has never even heard of NMB48 had to get one for himself and girlfriend soon as he saw it haha. I fell out of keeping up with the idols two years ago, but now that I got the chance I will probably hit up all the 48 group centers eventually.

Not much else to buy in these stores, a lot of sold out stuff or nonsense merch like pictures. Also wanted a shirt with NMB on it but its like... a lot were from concerts that I did not go to lol, seems kinda weak to buy a shirt for an event you did not go to lol.

Simple and silly life goals are the best lol.

You buy that Riripon philosophy book?

Nah, while I liked her she was not my oshimen when i was into it lol. All about that Yamamoto. Might grab it later if I hear its entertaining. Kinda had to sightsee and shop in the span of 5 hours so did not get to impulse buy much. Planned on getting this shirt soon as I said I wanted to go to Osaka and the theater/shop lol.

the Pastel Pants sounds really good. someone needs to talk to asCa and help her find less obscure ways to sell her music. it's a good year for electropop
that isn't produced by Nakata

I'd like a clarification from some of the fluent Japanese speakers here, but here's this viral hit in Japan

Radio Fish - Perfect Human

So my understanding is that Radio Fish is a comedy duo (owarai) and they included this song (a parody of Gangnam Style) as a skit during a comedy show. The song ended up becoming popular and was given a major singles push. Any other tidbits about it?

Nah that's pretty much it.
Well, to be more precise, Radio Fish is the name of the "band" formed by the owarai duo Oriental Radio and Fishboy (who is the brother of one of the members).
They released a few songs last year before that one, but that's the one that became really big.
